In July 2023, I used the breakfast-included plan at Yunokawa Onsen. Before the meal, I soaked in the hot spring and then made my way to the dining area, which was operated by a small staff. The reception was unmanned, and I inserted money into the slot as a self-service system. The atmosphere was assumed to be filled with good-natured people. The dining area was a bit crowded, but the terrace seats outside were empty, making it a hidden gem! It was open and elegant. The morning meal was served in a small but attractive selection, with a focus on self-service seafood bowls and various Hokkaido-style dishes. There was also a steak demonstration, and the carefully selected dishes were served in small portions. The amount of carbohydrates was minimal, with around 20g of mountain vegetable rice, possibly even less than what is offered at a Buddhist altar. The sashimi served in small plates was delicious, especially the natural bluefin tuna. The all-you-can-eat selection included a variety of dishes such as scallop gratin and freshly grilled steak, which was tender and delicious. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Yunokawa Onsen in July 2023. Today's accommodation is a local ryokan renovated into a small inn with 26 rooms. The cozy lounge offers homemade lemonade as a welcome drink until 10 pm. The following items are all-you-can-drink: Misuzu Coffee, Hakodate Milk Soft Serve, and barrel-packed Paul Star Soft Serve, which is surprisingly delicious. The rooms are spacious and clean, with separate toilets and baths. The colorless, transparent hot spring water is directly sourced and always available for a relaxing soak. Dinner is served in two shifts, and I opted for a sushi set instead of a course meal. I also enjoyed a classic bottled beer as my drink. The sushi set included 10 pieces of various types of fish, each perfectly sized and flavorful. The small side dishes, such as simmered sardines and shrimp miso soup, were also delicious. Dessert was a small cake. Overall, I had a great stay at a very affordable price. Thank you for the meal!

A wonderful hotel located in Yunokawa Onsen. Upon check-in, you can enjoy unlimited sparkling wine in the lobby. They also offer delicious soft serve ice cream made with Hakodate milk, which you can eat as much as you want. The soft serve ice cream here is really tasty. I felt like I could spend all day in the lobby. The hot spring was also not crowded, so I was able to relax and unwind. The breakfast the next morning was great too! It included sashimi with squid, flounder, octopus, salmon roe, and tuna, as well as a small dish of tuna belly. There was also sanpei soup, grilled salmon, soup curry, oden, gratin, chawanmushi, and steak. They even had chicken legs. There were more options than I expected, and everything was delicious. The soup curry had just the right amount of spiciness and was filled with chicken, potatoes, and pumpkin. The chawanmushi had a perfect sweetness to it. There were more dishes available, but I couldn't try them all. The service was also excellent, making for a pleasant breakfast experience. This is a lovely inn! I would love to stay here again.

I made a reservation for a Friday night stay in September 2021, with breakfast the next day. Upon check-in, guests were asked about their breakfast time, so I reserved a slot for 7:00 am. The buffet-style breakfast allowed for a relaxed dining experience with about 5 groups at a time. When in Hakodate, seafood, especially squid, is a must. There were various options at the buffet, but my wife opted for a seafood bowl while I tried a bit of everything. At the live kitchen, they cooked steak and fried eggs to order. The squid sashimi, squid shiokara, and marinated salmon roe were delicious. The tuna belly was the best seafood item, melting in the mouth. After sampling the seafood, I topped my curry with a fried egg from the live kitchen. The curry was slightly on the rich side. The onsen tamago was exceptional, with a runny yolk. After the satisfying meal, I brewed coffee in the room using a coffee mill. The aroma of Meisui coffee was delightful. Watching ducks swim in the river from my room, I felt relaxed and my work stress melted away. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I plan to explore Hakodate before heading home and would love to stay at this inn again in the future.

Stayed on a Friday night in September 2021, visited at 6:00 pm. At check-in, guests were asked about their dinner time, with 2-3 groups allocated for each hour. The receptionist's service made me expect that it must be a good hotel. After bathing in the hot spring, sparkling wine, coffee, and ice cream were complimentary, so we enjoyed wine and edamame as a pre-dinner snack before heading to dinner. There is a dining room next to the lobby on the first floor. It's not very big, but it has a clean and cozy atmosphere. We opted for the plan with one free drink each, I ordered a classic cocktail, and my wife ordered cold sake. Cheers! It's been a while since we traveled, so we were in a relaxed mood. The appetizers, such as sweet and spicy simmered toba, marinated squid with sesame and plum, and tuna with grated yam, were all delicious. The cold potato soup in mousse form had a unique texture and was delicious. Everything was delicious. Next was grilled squid, which had a nice aroma and was tender and tasty. The carrots on the side were very sweet and delicious. The deep-fried hokke (Okhotsk atka mackerel) was prepared in a dashi broth style, a different texture than the usual baked hokke. The steamed egg custard was slightly sweet and easy to eat. The main course was sushi, prepared with skill and precision right in front of us at the counter. The sushi chef's hand movements were impressive. The quality of the sushi was clearly superior to that of a certain famous conveyor belt sushi restaurant. The uni (sea urchin) was bursting with flavor, the abalone had a nice crunchy texture, and the herring roe was delightfully firm. The miso soup with shrimp was rich in flavor. The tuna belly melted in the mouth, and the medium fatty tuna was sweet and delicious. It was a truly blissful moment. Finally, dessert was panna cotta and cookie cream ice cream, which was refreshing and tasty. We were extremely satisfied. With the attentive staff's actions, we were able to enjoy our meal in a pleasant atmosphere. It's a great hotel. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I didn't have high expectations for the quality of the hot spring water at Yunokawa Onsen, but it turned out to be pleasantly warm with a smooth texture, and it was a natural spring water without added chlorine, flowing directly from the source. The twin room C I stayed in was new, clean, and spacious. The breakfast only plan included dishes like omurice steak, fried chicken, sausages, and sunny-side-up eggs, with plenty of onions. The fruity omurice steak was a bit tough. My partner had a seafood bowl, but the heavy meal in the morning made me feel a bit sluggish, so I couldn't finish it. One thing that bothered me (which I think is common) was the lack of staff. One person had to handle cooking, serving, guiding, and cleaning up in the breakfast area, and the kitchen was in a blind spot from the dining area. From the staff's perspective, serving customers was as difficult as in the movie "Die Hard 4.0".

There is a small hot spring hotel in Yunokawa Onsen, with spacious rooms and excellent service, facilities, and breakfast. The food is delicious, so we decided to have breakfast at the hotel on the third day as well. We had the seafood-topped rice bowl for two days in a row, which was delicious! The steak and fried egg made to order by the chef were also great. I topped them with special curry to create a luxurious steak curry with fried egg. It was incredibly delicious, and I felt happy from the morning.

Located in Yunokawa Onsen, this hot spring hotel "Emi Hakodateya" offers 26 guest rooms. The dining area serves authentic Hokkaido-style sushi, including the famous "Ezo Mae Sushi" for only 3000 yen. Although I couldn't dine here due to prior plans, I look forward to trying it next time. They offer complimentary welcome drinks as well as sparkling wine, free drinks, soft serve ice cream, and milk zenzai until the evening. For breakfast, I enjoyed a variety of dishes that truly captured the essence of Hakodate, such as macrobiotic dishes, squid with salmon roe, and steak cooked on a teppan grill. The service was exceptional, and the hokki clam rice was particularly delicious. The curry was also a standout. Delicious!

Hakodate Marui Imai finished work today and is staying at a hot spring inn. It takes 15 minutes by streetcar to reach Yunosawa Onsen, a hot spring town. Last time, I stayed in a large inn, so this time I will walk 15 minutes from the station to a small inn, even though it's raining. The atmosphere is nice. After checking in, I found out that there is a welcome sparkling drink all-you-can-drink service. I had two cups along with corn and delicious soft-serve ice cream. I wanted to have dinner at the inn, but I couldn't make it in time, so I went to eat ramen. The hot spring and open-air bath were not hot enough. After the bath, I can still have sparkling drink, dessert wine, and sake. Soft-serve ice cream goes well with them. I feel like I can sleep soundly after a nightcap. The breakfast is delicious, with unlimited beef steak cooked right in front of you. It's a shame that the coupon recommended by Hakodate City ends on 9/11. Please at least mention that it has ended on the website. I considered other inns as well, but I want to eat soft-serve ice cream again.

A ryokan in Yugawa. I was looking for a place to refresh even within the city since I couldn't go far. The reviews were good, so I stayed there. For dinner, I had sushi and overflowing ikura (salmon roe) bowl. For breakfast, it was a buffet style. The ikura bowl was piled high with plenty of ikura, definitely Instagram-worthy! The employees' smiles were lovely. However, there were some disappointing aspects. The service was lacking in many areas. The staff were chatting leisurely in places visible to customers. There is a lobby before the bath, but despite the bath still being available, the lights were turned off. I was surprised when I came out into the darkness.

I stayed at a hotel in Hakodate that was within my budget, although the hotel was old and I didn't have high expectations for the service or food. However, I was able to stay here for a slightly higher price than my budget. I didn't notice the stylish front desk at first and wandered around until a kind staff member approached me and explained the facilities. They mentioned that until 10 pm, there was unlimited sparkling wine, soft-serve ice cream, and coffee available in the lobby! I checked in around 9:30 pm and hurriedly went to the lobby. I love sparkling wine, so I was delighted. The soft-serve ice cream made with Hakodate milk was delicious! I had multiple servings of everything. I really should have checked in earlier! The hot spring bath was a continuous flow, and I couldn't stop sweating for a while. The room was a traditional Japanese style with beds, and they even had a coffee mill, a sign of a good ryokan! I really should not have been working. The breakfast had a limited variety, but the neatly arranged sashimi, fresh salad, and Flower Field Farm raclette cheese were all you can eat. It felt like heaven with the cleanliness and presentation. If I didn't have plans for lunch, I would have wanted to try everything!

I stayed overnight and had dinner and breakfast. The sushi for dinner was easy to eat and delicious. I wonder if you can drink as much champagne as you want in the lobby as a welcome drink? The steak cooked right in front of me for breakfast was delicious, I had seconds.

I was generally satisfied with the buffet at the Japanese food center, but the buffet corner was small and it was difficult to take food. It may be better to go a little later as it gets crowded right after opening. Despite promoting the Katsudon, the seafood corner seemed lacking. I wanted to eat a lot of bacon and sausages, but since it was a system of ordering and grilling one piece at a time, I held back. The room was clean and nice. They provided makeup remover and the amenities were so plentiful that women could go empty-handed. It was nice to have all-you-can-eat soft serve ice cream in the lobby after coming out of the hot spring.

A ryokan with 26 rooms located in Yunokawa, Hakodate. It may be a bit confusing for first-timers as it is situated in a residential area! A hot spring hotel renovated from a traditional inn. Stayed the night before a horse race event. Made the reservation in January, if I remember correctly. Stayed for 2 people with 2 meals included, costing around 15,000 yen per person. There was limited information about dinner, so I was a bit anxious, but it exceeded my expectations! Dinner started from 18:30 to 19:30. Breakfast was served from 7:00 to 9:00. We were guided to a table for 4 people. You can do some research beforehand! Cheers with wine and beer (^-^)人(^-^) One complimentary drink was included in the plan. 【Appetizer Platter】Octopus with wasabi, pickled herring, sea squirt with salted fish roe, spinach with sesame dressing, crab miso tofu. 【Grilled Dish】Pan-fried flounder. 【Deep-fried Dish】Shrimp and vegetable tempura. 【Steamed Dish】Steamed egg custard with shrimp and chestnuts. 【Sushi Set 1】Medium fatty tuna, flounder, lean tuna, squid, botan shrimp, snow crab, sea urchin, salmon, herring roe, octopus head. 【Sushi Set 2】Sea urchin, salmon roe, rolled omelet, sweet egg. 【Soup】Miso soup with shrimp head. 【Dessert】Orange jelly, rice dumpling, mini cake. If it was a sushi restaurant, this meal would cost around 5,000 yen? Personally, I was satisfied. The breakfast featured seafood typical of Hakodate. The steak was also great. The hotel lounge offers complimentary champagne, soft-serve ice cream, and soft drinks from 15:00 to 22:00. It was quite fancy (laughs). I was the only one sipping champagne and reading a white newspaper. 【Hot Springs】 - Hours: 15:00-25:00 in the evening, 5:00-9:00 in the morning *Gender-segregated baths in the evening and morning - Spring Quality: Sodium-calcium-chloride spring (neutral isotonic high-temperature spring) - Benefits: Neuralgia, muscle pain, joint pain, frozen shoulder, motor paralysis, stiff joints, bruises, sprains, fatigue recovery, chronic digestive diseases, hemorrhoids, sensitivity to cold, post-illness recovery, health promotion, weak children, chronic skin diseases, chronic women's diseases, cuts, burns, chronic constipation. I will definitely use it again. Thank you very much♪◎ *About a 5-minute walk away is a botanical garden (adult admission 300 yen). It's fun to watch the monkeys. Local elementary school students can enter for free. Tired children were taking a break in the foot bath. *My favorite horse racing prediction paper is the "Nikkan Keiba" (Daily Horse Racing) - Reason: When I first visited Fukushima Racecourse, I hit a combination of ○ and △ for 177 times the payout. Since then, I have decided on "Nikkan Keiba."

I came to Hakodate (*^^)v without any plans for the hotel... I was fine with a simple business hotel or anything like that. My main goal was to have a nice dinner (^_-)-☆ But this hotel seems to have been renovated, and even though it's small, it has a nice atmosphere (*^^*) I noticed something interesting... There is no smell of cigarettes anywhere in the hotel! It's completely smoke-free throughout the building! I remembered how cigarette smell was always a problem for me in other hotels, so not having it here makes the stay so much more comfortable (≧∇≦)b Even if you request a non-smoking room, if it used to be a smoking room, it's impossible to completely get rid of the smell, and I don't like it when there are smoking areas or the lobby smells like cigarettes (・ัω・ั) I requested a Japanese-style room in the old building, and even though the tatami mats seemed new, the rest of the room was a bit old, but that's okay (^_-) It seems like they did a good job of masking the cigarette smell, as my dog's nose sensor didn't detect anything (lol) For dinner, I went out to eat and had a great time ♡ Now, I'm back at the inn for some hot spring time ♬ Relaxing and unwinding ♬ I enjoyed some complimentary sparkling wine and soft serve ice cream, but I forgot to take a picture (ToT) Breakfast is buffet style! There aren't many options, but the quality is good? I don't eat a lot of different things, so as long as they have delicious rice and fresh ingredients, I'm happy (^_-) The seasoning was good overall ♬ The staff's hospitality was also great, making breakfast time enjoyable ♬ This time, I booked a plan with breakfast included for 7,020 yen per night plus 150 yen. The new building only has Western-style rooms, while the old building has only two Japanese-style rooms. The dinner plan varies depending on the season, costing around 13,000 yen. The dinner is said to be a Japanese course with mainly sushi. Since there is no cigarette smell and I want to avoid any unpleasant experiences, maybe I'll choose this place again next time? ❤(ӦvӦ。)

The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of options, including high-quality steak, bacon, fried eggs, and sausages that showcased the flavors of Hokkaido. Guests could choose their preferred combination of these items. The buffet also featured a selection of rice and bread, making it difficult to decide between the two. The seafood rice bowl, reminiscent of Hakodate morning market, allowed guests to create their own dish with fresh squid and salmon roe. The buffet also included a range of Japanese and Western dishes, with a standout being the French toast served with honey and whipped cream. The curry was also of high quality, with a refreshing tomato flavor. Overall, the breakfast left a positive impression, although the coffee provided in the room could be improved. The reviewer appreciated the authentic ingredients used in the dishes, even if it meant encountering a fish bone in the meal. They emphasized the importance of embracing some level of risk for the sake of enjoying delicious food. The reviewer concluded by thanking the restaurant for the enjoyable breakfast.

I booked a stay at Hakodateya and spent the day sightseeing in Hokkaido before heading to the inn. I relaxed in the hot springs with natural spring water to soothe my tiredness. The sparkling wine in the lounge was easy to drink with little aftertaste. The soft serve ice cream was extremely rich. The next morning, I planned to go straight to the morning market, but I decided to try the inn's breakfast buffet first. I had no expectations, but it turned out to be better than I imagined. The quality of the Hokkaido-style breakfast was outstanding. The all-you-can-eat salmon and salmon roe were particularly good. I couldn't resist going back for seconds. The in-room coffee was a set from Hokkaido's oldest coffee brand, Meiryo Coffee, and it was excellent.
