I was surprised to find a shop in such a place, and when I entered, I saw many local people! It naturally made me feel at ease. I enjoyed sashimi, crab, and the soft bone of a salmon's head (Ikata) with a drink from Otoko-yama Brewery. The combination was excellent. The alcohol was so good that I ended up ordering another round of drinks. I definitely want to come back here!

A restaurant in the center of Asahikawa that serves grilled dishes and local cuisine. I visited this place once a long time ago when I was living in Tokyo and came to Asahikawa for a business trip. It was recommended by the local employees and was already a popular spot back then. I started with a medium-sized draft beer for 550 yen, and the appetizer was edamame. One of the must-try dishes here is the miso oden, which includes egg, daikon radish, fish cakes, and tofu for 120 yen each. Miso oden is a nostalgic dish commonly enjoyed in various regions, including Hokkaido. It has a slightly sweet miso sauce that brings back memories of childhood festivals. I also tried the salmon head cartilage for 800 yen, which is popular in cold regions like Hokkaido. It has a crunchy texture and tastes similar to namasu. They warm sake in a tokkuri before serving, and I ordered a hot sake for 800 yen (2 servings). I decided to have some fish grilled as well, so I ordered the mirin-marinated silver dory for 1,200 yen. It's a seasonal fish that tastes delicious when grilled over charcoal. It has a nice fatty flavor that pairs well with sake. Enjoying traditional local flavors that I've grown up with was a wonderful experience that brought back nostalgic feelings.

I had always been intrigued by the brightly shining orange sign. Down the stairs, I found a cozy, dimly lit shop with a rustic charm. The counter had a TV, making it a perfect place to relax. The staff were all seasoned veterans, providing a stable and welcoming service even to new customers. The menu featured a variety of charcoal-grilled dishes, each offering a delicious and reliable taste that paired well with beer. Overall, it's a great place to enjoy some tasty grilled food and beer in a relaxed atmosphere.

Robata-yaki is a specialty of Kushiro and it is known to be quite pricey. I hadn't had the chance to try it before, but when other robata restaurants were being considered, I decided to visit this one that I hadn't been to before. I made a reservation online and soon after, I received a phone call from the restaurant to confirm the reservation. The person on the phone was elderly and very friendly, just like a kind uncle. I couldn't find any appealing sake brands, so I went for a draft black beer which was served in a frosty mug. The appetizer was tuna sashimi, but unfortunately, it was sold out. I then tried the mackerel miso, which was also sold out. I ordered the octopus liver, which was quite firm and had a strong taste. The grilled bell peppers were generously portioned and reminded me of grilling them whole at home. I decided to try grilled fish and chose herring. It was delicious, but the bones were a bit bothersome. I also had some Niigata sake and my companion had Hakkaisan sake. Overall, it was a good experience, but I might regret it tomorrow.

I decided to explore the nightlife in the city center and chose to come here at the end of the year. This is a long-established izakaya. The master has been in this business for half a century, so I was confident that the food would be excellent. I made a reservation at the restaurant and looked at the menu online to plan my order in advance, which made ordering relatively quick.
- Miso oden: A must-have dish when coming here, the miso sauce is delicious and I made sure to finish every last bit.
- Grilled eggplant: Another classic dish, grilled on the charcoal grill. The taste was truly exceptional, a result of decades of experience.
- Grilled shishamo: I received three plump shishamo, and the texture and flavor were authentic and satisfying. Perfect with some Japanese sake.
- Grilled rice balls and mushroom soup: The perfect way to end the meal. The grilled rice balls were carefully cooked, crispy on the outside and fragrant. A dish they can truly be proud of.
I was able to forget about the unpleasant work I had been doing earlier and the events of the past year, and simply relax and enjoy the food and the atmosphere of the restaurant. If all year-end parties were like this, I would want to have them more often! (lol)

I go to this restaurant 2-3 times a year. I often go for the award ceremony of a certain company's golf competition. I think this place is quite a hidden gem and the food is delicious. It is located one street away from the bustling 4th avenue main street, off of 3-6 streets. There are several other restaurants on this street as well, but I don't really go to the ones on 4th avenue. Do you like local cuisine? Today, what place do you think we'll rank? If the food looks delicious, please click the "↓" button! ⇒ Try pressing it once! The restaurant specializes in local cuisine. The menu is quite extensive, with grilled fish, shellfish, sashimi, skewers, and more. There are also five different types of miso soup available. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is cozy, with a counter surrounding a central charcoal grill. I had a business meeting there and tried dishes like Scallop Butter, Grilled Eggplant, Tonkatsu, and Miso Oden. The food was delicious, and I always make sure to order the Scallop Butter and Tonkatsu whenever I visit. The miso oden was also a unique and tasty dish. Overall, it was a great dining experience, and I look forward to going back next month.

When it comes to having a drink with friends in Asahikawa, Bungalow-san is a popular choice these days. Whenever my friends ask where I want to go for a drink, I always suggest this place first. Especially in the cold season, it's recommended to sit at the counter, look at the fresh fish display, order your favorite dishes, and sip on hot sake. Just be careful not to drink it too quickly, as the sake here is really hot and you might burn yourself if you're not careful! This place offers a variety of delicious and affordable dishes, and the cozy atmosphere makes it a comfortable place to relax. My friends have known the owner of this place for a long time, and they always enjoy drinking here. My favorite dishes here include grilled tsubugai (whelk), tako tonbi (octopus legs), and simmered kinki (rockfish). These dishes are not commonly found in my hometown, so it's a special treat to enjoy them in Hokkaido. Another must-try dish is the butter-grilled hotate (scallops), which adds to the feeling of indulgence while drinking in Hokkaido. It may be a few months before I can visit again, but I definitely want to come back to this restaurant.

I came to Asahikawa and had a drink with a friend. It's a typical robatayaki restaurant where they cook in front of you, mainly focusing on grilled dishes. You can order fish and shellfish from the showcase and have them grilled or prepared as sashimi. Sitting at the counter is recommended, as you can enjoy conversations with the skilled chefs and the mature atmosphere. I had a few dishes and two draft beers, and it cost around 3000 yen per person. It's a great restaurant that makes you want to come back again.

I went to Asahikawa to meet an old friend and did some research before deciding on a few places, but without local knowledge, I ended up circling around the downtown area and eventually went to Bangaru. The grilled fish, sashimi, everything was delicious, but the sweetness and richness balance of the miso sauce for the oden was really good and tasty. If I have the chance to stay in Asahikawa again, I would definitely visit this restaurant. My companion and I sat at the counter, and although the owner seemed busy, he was smiling while grilling. However, the older person in charge of the hall seemed a bit intimidating with their tone and gaze (laughs). As we were leaving, the owner laughed and said, "You guys sure ate and drank a lot." We couldn't finish the zangi, so we took it back to the hotel and had it as a snack with some drinks, and it was still delicious even when cold.

Nowadays, even in the inland areas of Hokkaido, fish caught on the same day can be delivered. Various fresh seafood is lined up in glass cases. When you sit at the counter, you can order special items that are not on the menu by pointing at them. The staff are friendly and may ask if you want something grilled, saying it's delicious! Oh, by the way, those items are all market price. But when I had the extra-large grilled flounder cooked over charcoal, it had a sophisticated and comforting taste that made me jump for joy. Even when I brought along a guest who is particular about flavors from Honshu, they were satisfied and said it was delicious. As someone living in the city, I only knew this place as a restaurant used for banquets and had a so-so impression of it. However, I now firmly believe that this is a place where you should order your favorite items in small quantities (preferably sitting at the counter) and savor the flavors. Perhaps, we are unaware of the potential of other restaurants as well, simply judging them based on banquets alone.

I visited this restaurant for the first time. The atmosphere of the place was great, and the yakitori grilled over charcoal in front of me was delicious. The secret sauce? and the chappu-yaki and miso oden were all delicious too. I definitely want to visit again.
