"I can't say 'Let's go to Amor Mutsumi' right? Because it's embarrassing, isn't it? Not embarrassing? Then go ahead and say it... 'Embarrassing!' See, I told you. It's the training for the 'Unjust Demands Prevention Officer.' I'm not the officer because I can stand up to the yakuza, it's because I have a weak face that would disappoint them. The venue is the Kitami Civic Hall. Since it's a weekday, I won't have lunch, but since I'm in Kitami, I'll resume my quest to try all the ramen shops in Kitami. The Civic Hall has a cafeteria, and they serve ramen there too. So, I have to try it. The place is quite busy at 12:10, so I head to the second floor. I order the salt ramen at the ticket machine, and the system is a bit confusing. I place my ticket at the counter, but they bring me soba instead. They seem to be confused with the orders. After a 15-minute wait, the ramen arrives. The soup is milky, not sure if it's tonkotsu or chicken broth. It doesn't have a strong flavor. The water comes when I'm halfway through the ramen, and it's lukewarm. The soup has a strong wakame flavor. The menma seems to be store-bought. The noodles are standard and cater to those who like firm noodles. The cloudy soup has a peculiar taste, not very delicious. It leaves a bad aftertaste. The service is decent. The electronic board at the Civic Hall doesn't mention the 'Unjust Demands Prevention Officer' training, which makes me doubt if it's really happening today. I double-check the postcard and confirm the details. I start to feel anxious for some reason. I check the postcard again and confirm the venue. I'm still feeling uneasy. I check the postcard once more and confirm the venue is indeed the Kitami Civic Hall. Why am I feeling so anxious? I check the postcard again. 'Venue: Abashiri Civic Hall.' Oh no!"

◆December 2016◆ I had work at the Civic Hall. For lunch, I decided to eat at Amour Mutsumi located within the hall. It seems to be a branch of the popular restaurant of the same name that offers one-coin lunches. They use a ticket machine outside the store to purchase meal tickets. The menu includes various set meals such as Japanese set meals, ramen, soba, rice bowls, and curry. Although it's not exactly a one-coin meal, the prices are quite reasonable. I ordered the pork cutlet curry (680 yen) and my colleague ordered the ginger pork set meal. The curry had a rich, dark roux base with a good balance of spices, although the cutlet was slightly overcooked. The ginger pork set meal had so much onion that you couldn't see the meat, which is typical of Northern cuisine. It's a convenient cafeteria to visit when you have business at the Civic Hall.
