I visited before noon. There was one group of two customers who had already finished eating. I ordered the special pork bowl and it arrived in about 10 minutes. The pork slices were thin, but the flavor was rich thanks to the sauce. The rice portion seemed to be over a cup, but I finished it in less than 10 minutes. It was a satisfying meal.

The day before, I went to the restaurant hoping to satisfy my hunger after drinking, but it was closed. I was craving the pork bowl, so I came back for revenge the next day for lunch. I ordered the pork bowl with sweet sauce, thin slices of pork, and a sprinkle of black pepper. This pork bowl is irresistible! So delicious! I also secretly love the mushroom soup. I enjoyed savoring the pork slowly. The restaurant has been around since 1971, and I hope it continues for a long time.

The customer wanted to go to a certain restaurant. It's a place I've never heard of before, but it somehow gives me a feeling of nostalgia. The customer said it's a place with memories for them. I found the restaurant easily, but couldn't locate the parking lot. I ended up parking at a coin parking lot further down the road. When I arrived, there was one person seated at the counter. In the kitchen, there was an elderly man cooking, and an older man serving in the dining area. They weren't very friendly. There were three types of pork bowls on the menu, so I decided to try the "Special Pork Bowl" for 1,600 yen. I gave some advice to the older man on how to arrange the meat on the bowl. Maybe he was still in training? It was interesting that this pork bowl had pepper sprinkled on it, which is not common. The pepper seemed to interfere with the taste a bit. The meat was pork belly, which should be tender, but it was cooked quite firmly, making it a bit tough. In terms of taste, service, and price, I would give the advantage to the Obihiro pork bowl. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered the special pork bowl. It had plenty of thin pork loin with a sweet sauce on top. The spicy accent turned out to be white pepper. The owner, who seemed a bit difficult at first, was actually very friendly when I talked to him. It was delicious! (^ ^)

The place is located along a train street away from Susukino. It's more of a destination rather than a place to drop by. It has been in business for almost 50 years, and the owner is elderly. I ordered the special pork bowl for 2400 yen. The meat is 1.5 times more than the regular pork bowl. The meat is thick, the sauce is rich, and the slightly firm rice complements it well. The mushroom bowl is also delicious.

On the second day of the Hokkaido expedition, we decided to have dinner at Mamuro near Higashi-Honganji Station. We arrived around 6:00 PM and found no other customers. It was the last day of the snow festival, so it was surprising to see it so empty. However, we were actually happy about it. Shortly after being seated, we were served tea and ordered the Butadon (pork bowl) for 1,600 yen. About 10 minutes later, our Butadon arrived. The bowl was filled with a generous amount of pork slices, all covered in a rich sauce. The pork was cooked just right, with a nice crispy texture and a delicious aroma. The sauce soaked into the rice, making every bite flavorful. While we may not be able to eat here every time due to its location, we were impressed by the taste and would definitely want to come back again.

One of the Hokkaido gourmet dishes is pork bowl. Originally, Obihiro pork bowl is famous, but this is Sapporo pork bowl. A pork bowl restaurant visited by Oizumi Yo and Shinichiro Azumi on "Pittanko Kankan". Both of them like it! Since the two of them from Hokkaido visited, it must be good. Let's consider it a pilgrimage to the holy land haha. It is within walking distance from Susukino Station but not in the middle of the bustling area, a bit far and hard to reach. I walked from Sapporo Station, so it felt quite far. I visited early for dinner on a holiday. There were no customers. I was worried it would be crowded because I saw in various reviews that there are always long lines... so it was good! Maybe it's crowded during lunchtime. Pork bowl for 1250 yen and premium pork bowl for 1600 yen. When asked about the difference, they said it's the quality and quantity of the meat. We ordered both for comparison and shared them. I had the image that pork bowls have thick meat, but here the meat is thin. It's thinly sliced and easy to eat. The taste is quite strong, a nice sauce flavor. The sauce is moderately mixed with the rice, which is good. The meat has a nice pepper seasoning. During my trip to Hokkaido, I was never really hungry due to overeating and drinking, but the strong flavor stimulated my appetite, and I ended up enjoying it. Now, the difference between the regular pork bowl and the premium pork bowl is that visually, the premium pork bowl definitely has more meat. Next is the meat quality, the meat in the premium pork bowl is indeed tender. The meat in the regular pork bowl is slightly tougher. However, for someone like me who is not very sensitive, I might not have noticed the slight difference if I hadn't consciously compared them. Well, if you are consciously aware, the premium pork bowl is definitely more tender, so it's a matter of personal preference which one to order. If you come here often, you will be satisfied with the regular pork bowl, but if you rarely come and want to treat yourself a bit since you came all the way to Hokkaido, then the premium pork bowl is a good choice. The miso soup was also delicious, and the pickles were a nice palate cleanser. It was a satisfying experience with the Sapporo pork bowl.

There is a pork bowl restaurant in Susukino. It is located a little away from the bustling area. They offer regular pork bowl, premium pork bowl, and special pork bowl, and this time I ordered the regular pork bowl. Since the owner operates the restaurant alone, it may take some time. The pork bowl has thinly sliced meat with a rich sauce and sprinkled with pepper, giving it a strong flavor. It is cooked in a frying pan, so it lacks the crispy texture that I prefer. The sauce could use a bit less sweetness. Considering the quality and quantity of the meat, it feels a bit pricey, but there aren't many places where you can enjoy a pork bowl, so it might be considered a rare find.

In August 2022, during my business trip to Hokkaido, I visited a pork bowl restaurant in Sapporo for dinner after finishing work. The restaurant has been operating since 1971 and is known for its delicious pork bowls. I ordered the popular dish, the "Premium Pork Bowl" for 1,600 yen, which came with miso soup. It took about 20 minutes for the dish to be served, but the wait was worth it. The pork bowl looked and smelled amazing, with a generous amount of sauce on top of the meat. The pork was not as thick as the one I had in Obihiro, but it was still delicious and had a nice texture. I enjoyed every bite and ended up finishing the entire bowl. The friendly owner added to the overall positive experience. It was a great dining experience, and I was glad I decided to visit this restaurant.

My boyfriend wanted to eat pork bowl, so we went to search for a pork bowl restaurant. We found Mamuro located near Dinabel in the slightly outskirts of South 7th Street, 6th Avenue. The entrance of the restaurant had a curtain hanging, but it was oddly hung backwards. When we asked the owner, he said, "Oh, I forgot to fix it, haha." Quite a funny moment! Inside the restaurant, there was a Macbook Pro placed on the counter, which stood out in the retro and slightly chaotic atmosphere, giving it a modern touch. The menu was simple with pork bowl, pork bowl with extra meat, and special pork bowl. The difference seemed to be in the portion size. I ordered the regular pork bowl, while my boyfriend ordered the pork bowl with extra meat. The regular pork bowl was priced at 1250 yen, and the one with extra meat was 1600 yen. Although it may seem a bit pricey, it included miso soup and pickles. The dishes arrived shortly after. The pork slices were slightly thin, but the sauce had a perfect flavor that soaked into the rice. Comparing the two, the pork bowl with extra meat seemed to have thicker slices of pork. The sauce had a delicious sweet and savory taste, making the rice very appetizing. We enjoyed the rich flavor of the sauce, which has been passed down since 1970. Thank you for the meal! My boyfriend seems interested in trying the special pork bowl next time, so we might come back again, haha.

One of Hokkaido's specialties to remember is the "Butadon" (pork bowl), a specialty of the Tokachi region. I happened to discover a Butadon specialty store called "Mamuro" near my accommodation, so I decided to give it a try. The menu only offers Butadon in three sizes: regular, large, and extra large (1.5 times the size of large). The difference lies in the slightly different cuts of meat used. Since it was my first time, I ordered the regular size and it arrived in about 10 minutes. The meat was firm and the sweet and savory sauce was rich. Initially, I thought there was a lot of rice, but thanks to the sauce spreading over it, I was able to finish it all without any leftovers. The miso soup with tofu, which was supposed to be a supporting role, was impressively delicious with the umami flavor of kelp. Thank you for the meal.

I didn't plan to go to Obihiro this time, but I decided to try the pork bowl once. The location is a bit far from the city center, but it's easy to find because it's along the street. I visited on a weekday for lunch and there were no customers. I chose the "Jou Butadon" (premium pork bowl). The bowl was served in a few minutes and I started eating. The sauce is very rich, which is the main characteristic. The sauce stood out more than the meat itself. Although the portion of meat was sufficient, it was thin and didn't have a strong flavor. When it comes to specialty pork bowl restaurants, the standard is set by "Butadon Ton'ya" in Obihiro, so the price-performance ratio didn't meet my expectations. It might be acceptable for dinner in Sapporo, but for travelers, there are probably other dishes worth trying, so it's a bit challenging.

I went to Mamuro-san! ψ(`∇´)ψ Gaoo~♫ When it comes to pork bowls, it's Mamuro! It's a famous long-established restaurant, right? The seasoning of the meat is a little strong, but the rice goes down well! (laughs) It was delicious♪ Thank you for the meal! ♫

Located at J1 Susukino Building 1F, Minami 7-jo Nishi 6-chome, Chuo-ku, Sapporo, "Mamuro" is a newly opened ramen restaurant. Today, there were two new ramen shops opening, but I decided to skip them and try the pork bowl instead. I parked my car at a nearby coin parking lot and visited the restaurant for the first time. The interior is not very spacious, with a counter and a raised seating area, and the owner manages the place alone. The menu is simple. I ordered the "Premium Pork Bowl" for 1,600 yen and added extra rice for 250 yen. The pork bowl arrived in about 10 minutes. The thinly sliced pork loin is coated with a rich sauce, and there is a generous amount of meat. The flavor is rich but not overwhelming, and it blends well with the rice. The miso soup has a mild and gentle flavor, balancing out the meal. Despite ordering the large portion, I left feeling satisfied and pleased with the delicious meal. Thank you for the meal!

Long-awaited visit. The taste was okay, but the portion size was quite large, and the set with pork bowl, oshinko, and miso soup for ¥1250 seemed expensive compared to Obihiro. The location is not great, and if I really want to eat pork bowl, maybe I don't need to come to this restaurant. I was nervous because someone wrote in a review that the old man is scary, but when I visited at a strange time and there was no one else, the kind old man asked me, "Is it cold outside?" The inside of the restaurant had a few seats with social distancing measures in place. It seems like they prefer takeout, but the minimum price for takeout is high (starting from the top pork bowl).

After finishing the first half of the night at Yasuma Izakaya, I met up with a friend in Sapporo at 7 p.m. to have a great time for the last night in Sapporo. However, my friend left suddenly without any explanation, leaving me unsure of what to do next. So, I decided to take my large junior colleague to try the famous pork bowl that he hadn't eaten yet. We found a place through a search that seemed to have a traditional feel. When we entered, it seemed like it was closing time, but the owner kindly welcomed us in. I was a bit surprised by the price of the pork bowl at ¥1,250, but considering it was a traditional place with location costs included, it made sense. The bowl turned out to be well-prepared and had a certain elegance to it, clearly made by a skilled chef. My junior colleague enjoyed it and seemed satisfied, so I was glad. Thank you for the meal.

After 5 years, I visited Mamuro again. I was surprised to see that the original location had disappeared along with the building, but I found out they had moved nearby and went to find them. The interior of the slightly cleaner new place had the same photos and decorations as before. What was most nostalgic was seeing the old man still doing well. It has been 23 years since I first went there. He remembered my son, whom I had brought when he was just 1 year old, which was surprising considering he is now 24 years old. The pork bowl, with a sweet and savory soy sauce glaze, was incredibly delicious. When it comes to pork bowls in Sapporo, this place is definitely the best.

This time, there was a pork bowl restaurant in the same block as the accommodation! The simple facade gives off a sense of uniqueness. When I entered, I was surprised by how expensive the pork bowl was. It seemed like the empty seats were not only due to Covid-19. However, when the dish arrived shortly after, I understood why. Despite the slightly long wait, they were also preparing takeout orders for the previous customers. The restaurant was filled with a delicious aroma. The bowl that was placed in front of me had a captivating color with a contrast to the white rice. It was time to dig in! The taste was sharp, with a thick and flavorful sauce. The meat was tender with little fat, and the thin slices released a juicy umami flavor. The sauce was the star of the dish. I would have ordered extra rice, moved the meat over, and enjoyed the sauce first before eating the meat bowl if I was feeling energetic. Checking the information later, I found out that the restaurant has a history dating back to 1970. It seemed similar to Fukurai-ken! However, the current location was due to a fire in the previous building. Despite feeling a bit lonely in the new location, the visibility from the train station is advantageous. Interestingly, there used to be a restaurant with a sign saying "Obihiro Pork Bowl" near the Ishiyama-dori train station, but it seemed to have lost its business spirit. Instead, I found satisfaction in trying this pork bowl, which is a local Sapporo specialty.

Today's dinner was at this restaurant near the hotel. I had checked out the place before. I ordered the pork bowl for 1250 yen. It's 50% more expensive than the famous pork bowl specialty shop I usually go to, but the sweet sauce-coated tender pork was delicious! Additionally, the rice is a unique blend of local rice, with the sweetness and firmness of the rice just to my liking. The miso soup with Nameko mushrooms and pickles in the set were also tasty. The miso soup broth is said to be prepared from the day before, and it had a rich umami flavor. This is definitely worth it. I would like to stop by again when staying at a nearby hotel.

Located just a little off from Susukino, along the tram street, in the same building as Dinner Bell, is a small restaurant. The interior is clean and tidy, with only a counter and a small raised area. The straightforward service is surprisingly pleasant. I was introduced to this place by a friend who has been coming here for ages, apparently they used to serve tempura rice bowls many years ago... I wanted to try that. The menu is simple, offering regular and premium pork rice bowls. There are also side dishes available. They offer takeout as well, so you can enjoy a satisfying meal at home. I always go for the premium bowl. The flavor of the meat, the sounds of cooking, and the aroma of the sauce all stimulate the appetite. The meat has a firm texture and a rich flavor, which I believe is essential for enjoying the dish. The seasoning goes well with the rice, although it might be a bit strong for those who prefer milder flavors, it should be just right for most people. The chef seems to be of a certain age, so I hope they continue to work without pushing themselves too hard.
