Due to a virus-related computer malfunction, the migration process to a new desktop computer has been completed. This is my first time using Windows 10 and due to health reasons, the migration took longer than expected. I am now back to liking and commenting on posts. Thank you for your understanding. "Hokkaido Kiosk" released a limited edition product called "Sapporo Thick Tamago Sandwich" at JR Sapporo Station. It was first released on April 25, 2017. Initially, it was only sold at two locations: "Hokkaido Shikisai-kan Nishi-kan" outside the ticket gates and "Kiosk Sapporo Latch Chuten" inside the gates. Despite being available at only two stores, it exceeded 10,000 units in sales within two months of its release, becoming a very popular item. Later, it was also sold at "Kiosk Sapporo Latch Nishi-ten." I visited with my usual companion to buy the "Sapporo Thick Tamago Sandwich." The store is located in the JR Sapporo Station area in Chuo-ku, Sapporo. For the exact location, please check on Tabelog.
The "Sapporo Thick Tamago Sandwich" is placed in a cooler in the bento corner. When you open the cooler, it makes a sound. I bought one pack.

Limited edition at JR Sapporo Station
6 pieces (3 pieces x 1)
Weight: Actual measurement
Thick Tamago Sandwich: 198g (after removing the packaging)
Pan Crust Rusk: 9g (after removing the packaging)
The bread is from the popular bakery "Okameya." It has a fluffy and chewy texture. The eggs are from Ota Farm in Ebetsu City, using pure domestic "Momiji" chicken eggs. The tamago yaki has a creamy texture similar to pudding, with milk and honey for a slightly sweet taste. It comes with seasoned seaweed to wrap around the thick tamago sandwich for a Japanese flavor. It also includes pan crust rusk, which is not too hard. It goes well as a snack with beer.
Price: 680 yen (tax included)
The "Sapporo Thick Tamago Sandwich" is very creamy and has a soft texture. It is a completely different type of thick sandwich compared to others. The sweetness is subtle and easy to enjoy. It is cut into bite-sized pieces, making it easy to eat. As a Hokkaido resident, I want to support JR Hokkaido. When JR was divided, it was clear that they were in the red. To cover the deficit, the government set aside money to cover the interest. However, with the decrease in interest rates, the planned interest income decreased significantly. As a result, JR Hokkaido is cutting down on unprofitable routes. This has made life inconvenient for residents. If the government had covered the interest as planned, there would have been no need for cuts. Only a few routes in Hokkaido are profitable, so the future of JR Hokkaido is uncertain. It would be great if they could release more hit products to help with the deficit. I might try the "Sapporo Thick Tamago Sandwich" again next time. It was delicious, thank you.
