I visited "Coffee Mori no Tokei" in Furano City. It's a café located on the grounds of New Furano Prince Hotel. I haven't seen it before, but it seems to have been a setting for a drama. Walking along a snowy slope, I reached the small cabin-like café in the forest. The atmosphere is really nice. Inside, the ceiling is high and there's a quiet music playing like a music box. I chose a seat at the counter where coffee beans are freshly ground. Here's what I ordered:
- Mori's Curry (1450 yen): A spicy curry with large carrots. It's said to be a recipe passed down from the Kuramoto family. Spicy but easy to eat, and matches the atmosphere perfectly.
- Mori's Stew (1350 yen): A rich buttery stew. It's a recipe from the Kuramoto family made with chicken broth. Rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious, especially with the butter rice.
- Snowmelt Cake Set (1460 yen): The snowmelt cake is a sponge cake with chocolate ganache. Sweet and delicious, especially with the blend coffee that you can manually grind. Grinding the coffee beans by hand is quite fun. The coffee has a tangy adult flavor that I personally really like.
The quiet atmosphere allows for a relaxing time, and it's a really great place. It's hard to find this kind of atmosphere in the city. It's a popular spot and fills up quickly. When I left, there were several customers waiting for a seat. The food served is all of high quality, so if you're in the area, definitely give it a try. Although there are many great restaurants in Tokyo, I feel like this kind of place should have a hundred branches. It was really delicious. I'll definitely come back. Thank you for the meal.

A shop I really wanted to visit in Furano. I was being selfish and went all the way to New Furano Prince. A coffee shop nestled in the depths of the forest on the premises. Park the car and head into the woods. You can also go from the Ningle Terrace boardwalk, but I prefer to walk through the woods on a path covered with wood chips. The shop was the setting for the drama "Gentle Time" by Satoshi Kuramoto. I was moved to see the wood house in front of me. The counter seats seemed to be popular and were full. I chose a seat by the window where I could see the greenery outside. The cake set "Snowmelt" for 1050 yen consisted of chocolate ganache with a slightly firm texture and layers of fine sponge cake. The mouthfeel was pleasant like snow melting. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see the coffee being ground "grind grind" like in the drama, but the coffee brewed slightly strong was delicious. The forest, the cake, the coffee... and the gentle time with the background music of a music box playing. I take a deep breath and look up at the blue sky through the skylight.

Traveling to Hokkaido during the Obon holiday. On Sunday in Furano. After strolling through the Wind Garden on the grounds of New Furano Prince Hotel, I visited the Cafe Mori no Tokei on the same grounds. I entered around 4:30 pm without having to wait in line. I ordered the cake set, which included Hatsuyuki (a Gâteau au Chocolat topped with chocolate cream) and a blend coffee. The café, located in the middle of the forest, had a very nice atmosphere. Time passed by leisurely. From the table by the window, I could see the forest outside. I was able to spend a relaxing time at this café in a summer resort area.

It is located in the forest on the grounds of New Furano Prince Hotel. It is right below the Ningle Forest shops that you pass through from the hotel. There was a wait to enter. Waited and entered. Coffee and juice available outside. You can grind your own coffee at the forest counter! The coffee is delicious. Restroom! The door sign had actual playing cards stuck on it. Funny!

Located within the premises of Furano Prince Hotel, this cafe was used in a drama and had a long line. After waiting for 45 minutes, we finally got a seat at the counter to place our order. It seems like the concept here is to let customers relax, as even when seats were available, they didn't rush to clear them and seemed unhurried. It was nice to see. Even though the turnover rate of the restaurant may be slow, it's nice to be able to spend a leisurely time. I had the curry, which was delicious, but it lacked impact, possibly because I had previously eaten soup curry at Furano-ya. On the other hand, my partner had the Forest Stew, which was incredibly delicious. Next time, I will definitely go for the stew.

We visited "Coffee Mori no Tokei" located inside the New Furano Prince Hotel in Furano City, Hokkaido, during a trip with three women. The hotel is situated within the premises. After walking through a dense and gloomy forest road following the rain for about 7 minutes, the building seen in the drama "Yasashii Jikan" (2005, written by So Kuramoto, starring Satoshi Terao and Kazunari Ninomiya) appeared on the right. We arrived at 15:40 on a weekday, and the restaurant was fully booked with a wait of 5-6 groups. It was surprising to see it fully booked at this time. However, there was a notice inside the restaurant that most of the waiting customers were grinding their coffee beans by themselves at the counter, just like the regular customers in the drama. We gave up on self-grinding and waited for about 10 minutes before being seated as the second group. The background music was Ayaka Hirahara's "Ashita," the theme song of the drama. The interior of the restaurant was brighter than expected, but as we looked at the familiar decorations and the wood stove, memories of the drama scenes gradually came back to us. [Blend Coffee] ¥650 [Orange Juice] ¥420 [Cake Set] (Blend Coffee, Yukidoke) ¥1,460 It was served in less than 10 minutes. [Blend Coffee] It had a strong aroma, was light, and had a moderate acidity. It was a delicious coffee that paired well with the chocolate cake. There were various types of cups and saucers, and different ones were provided depending on the table, each with a completely different taste. [Yukidoke] It had a rich and sweet ganache that balanced well with the moist and light sponge. It was slightly heavy, so it was perfect for sharing and enjoying with the coffee. It was a nice gesture to provide three forks for one cake even though we didn't ask. After spending a peaceful and gentle time, we enjoyed a stroll around "Ningle Terrace," located at the end of the forest road. This is the setting of "Kita no Kuni Kara." In the early morning, we explored the "Wind Garden" inside the hotel, so unintentionally, this day turned into a festival of So Kuramoto.

When I tried to have lunch in Furano, all the restaurants closed earlier than the guidebook said, and I couldn't find anywhere to eat except for one place nearby. I wanted to have the coffee and cake set like I saw in "From the North Country," but it was crowded with people from that generation. Luckily, I was seated right in the middle of the counter and I had the spicy curry that Kura Motomu likes. It's a quiet place where time seems to pass slowly and you just want to stay longer. The staff were very kind too. Next time, I want to go there just to have coffee!

Far in the past, was this place ever used as a setting for a TV drama? I arrived at New Furano Prince after 13:00 looking for somewhere to eat, and ended up here. The hotel gave off a vibe of "It'll be fine somehow!" and I found myself at this place. I was surprised when the Japanese restaurant on the basement floor told me that last order was at 13:30. I couldn't help but wonder, "What kind of hotel is this?" Leaving aside the complaints about the hotel, this place does not have a 13:30 last order policy. The taste was satisfying enough, but I thought it could have been a bit more filling. When I ordered coffee at the counter, I was told to grind it myself. I couldn't help but think, "What era is this?" It had an atmosphere that made me want to make a snarky comment, but the taste was okay...

I found this place as I wanted to have a relaxing tea time during my busy Hokkaido trip. It is located on the grounds of New Furano Prince Hotel, and after parking my car, I walked a bit into the forest-like area which felt like a nice stroll. I arrived before 5:30 pm and was able to enter the shop right away. Although I wasn't very hungry, I decided to order a cake set and tried the "Hatsuyuki" and "Yukidoke" cakes. The "Yukidoke" had a firm chocolate layer on top with a fluffy sponge and cream layers, making it moist and delicious. The "Hatsuyuki" was a Gâteau au Chocolat with a coarse texture that crumbles easily, and it had a sweetness that paired well with coffee. Personally, I preferred the "Yukidoke" more.

I visited this café for the first time when I arrived in Furano. As the name suggests, the café is located in the middle of the forest, a bit of a walk from the parking lot so be sure to have rain gear ready in case of bad weather. Inside, there was a line of people waiting as it seemed to be a popular café. The seating options were either at the counter where you can use the coffee mill, or in the main hall where you cannot. I chose the counter seat without hesitation. Once seated at the counter, I was given coffee beans and a coffee mill to grind my own beans. I started grinding the beans and the aroma was amazing. Before brewing the coffee, I was allowed to taste the aroma. The freshly ground coffee brewed was indeed delicious. I also enjoyed the cake set that I ordered. It was a great experience. Thank you for the meal!

After passing through Ninguru Terrace and going down the stairs, I saw a sign for "Forest Clock." I decided to go down the slope and discovered a lovely shop! Upon entering, I was greeted by a quiet atmosphere and beautiful music. I was seated by the window and decided to have dessert after my meal. Here's what I ordered: - Snowmelt Tea (1460 yen) - Sprouting Coffee Jelly (700 yen) - Iced Tea (600 yen) I had a window seat, so I could enjoy the view of nature outside. It was a wonderful spot for a vacation. My order arrived promptly. The coffee jelly was larger than I expected, with a generous serving of vanilla ice cream on top and surrounded by light whipped cream. The whipped cream was not too sweet, making it easy to eat. Enjoying it with the iced tea was a delightful experience. I lost track of time in the relaxing atmosphere and ended up staying longer than planned. This cafe is a hidden gem known to those in the know! I heard that you can even grind your own coffee beans at the counter. I'm curious to try their meals next time! Thank you for the delicious meal.

I visited in the early evening on a weekday. I used to have trouble finding a seat at the counter before, but this time, since it was a weekday, I was able to sit down. I ordered a blend and ground the beans myself... it was more difficult than I had imagined. It was a good experience for me, as I usually use an automatic grinder. The coffee had a strong punch, with depth and richness, and a well-balanced flavor. For those who prefer a lighter taste or are not used to drinking coffee, it might be better to ask for a milder brew. I love coffee, so I really enjoyed the delicious coffee and the time spent looking at the natural surroundings.

The coffee shop located deep inside Furano Ninguru Terrace has a very atmospheric entrance, which made the customer in front of me hesitate and leave. The interior is quiet and serene, blending in with the surrounding forest. It's a place where you could easily fall asleep. It was a shop I wanted to visit, but whether I'll go again in the future is uncertain due to the distance and other factors.

This is my first visit. It seems to have been a filming location for a drama, and the atmosphere is nice. If you want to grind your own coffee, you wait at the counter, but if not, you are seated relatively quickly at a table. The coffee jelly was rich and delicious.

Cozy café in the forest. In front of the New Furano Prince Hotel, there is Ninguru Terrace where cute log cabin shops line up in the forest. In the evening, it is lit up and creates a fantastic scenery. In the back, there is a café called Mori no Tokei. When I went at lunchtime, there was a long line, so I decided to go near closing time and was able to find a seat. The interior of the café has a nice log cabin feel, and I felt like it's a place to relax and spend some time when it's not too crowded. I ordered the cake set (1460 yen) with coffee and Ne Yuki. They brought out a coffee mill first, so I ground the beans myself. It was nostalgic. Ne Yuki was a cake made of mousse and white chocolate, smooth and quite flavorful. I would like to come back when it's less crowded.

A blend coffee with low bitterness and a hint of acidity. The cup and saucer didn't match, but each had a different design. The atmosphere was calming and I felt relaxed. The pillars and beams had an impressive presence. I'll take the coaster for my drink home, feeling a bit cheap (lol).

I visited here for the first time in two years. When you come here, you really feel like humans are animals that have come out of the forest. It feels so good to be surrounded by greenery. The things that were talked about in the gentle time. The forest clock ticks slowly. But the human clock keeps getting faster. Living in the city, you can feel that. That's why I periodically drink coffee in the forest to slow down my internal clock. When I feel like my clock has sped up, I'll come back again.

I remember the gentle time (drama) - The popular cafe where they grind their own beans to make coffee. If you want a counter seat, be prepared to wait for about 30 minutes. I had a cold matcha milk with sweet red beans at the bottom. The coffee jelly was delicious with a perfect balance of sweetness from the cream. Even from the table seat, you can enjoy the view of the forest through the large window. Desserts are top-notch, definitely worth the wait. It's a healing experience.

I visited a cafe located on the grounds of New Furano Prince Hotel. This place was the setting for the drama "Yasashii Jikan" by Satoshi Kuramoto. It is located down a wooden path, and was actually built in the forest for a realistic feel, rather than being a set. The interior of the cafe offers a view of the greenery of Furano through large windows, creating a very soothing atmosphere. Although I haven't watched the drama, I saw a photo book of it inside the cafe, featuring actors like Satoshi Terao, Shinobu Otake, a 20-year-old Ninomiya Kazunari, and Masami Nagasawa. I started with the "Forest Curry", which was delicious with plenty of sweet carrots in the slowly simmered vegetables. It had a refined and mildly spicy flavor, which was great. I then tried grinding my own coffee beans at the counter, as they offer to brew coffee with them. After enjoying the aroma of the coffee, I carefully ground the beans with a manual mill, and the staff brewed it for me using a pour-over method. The slightly strong taste matched the ambiance of the cafe and was very calming. Since there weren't many customers that day, I was able to relax and enjoy the quiet atmosphere. Please note that reservations are not accepted here, and it may get crowded during the lavender season in July, so it's advisable to visit with some extra time during peak season.

In the middle of the forest, there is a cafe created for the drama "Tender Time." Led by a friend who is a fan of Kunimasa Kamo and has a strong love for Hokkaido, I headed to Furano. It's been about 10 years since I last visited Furano. I had only visited during the peak of summer lavender season, but the early summer atmosphere in early June is also lovely. The temperature was 19 degrees on this day. The sky is so wide and open.
"We can grind coffee beans at that seat in that cafe." I was amazed that we could grind coffee beans! We walked through the forest on the grounds of the Prince Hotel. Just walking through the forest already felt like getting negative ions. The greenery of the forest was cleansing my heart, which has been tainted by Tokyo.
After a while, a mountain hut appeared. It was so wonderful that we could have coffee here. Luckily, there were few customers, and that seat at the counter was available. "It's amazing that this seat is available!" Yes, that seat where Shinobu Otake sat. I was so happy because I had said I definitely wanted to sit there!
I ordered the "Snow Stew" for 1,200 yen and the "Blend Coffee" for 600 yen. Soon, the stew arrived. It was served on a large, flat plate, and the stew was already on top of the rice. There was Fukujinzuke on the side. The stew was rich and delicious. It had a thick sauce made with plenty of cream and cheese, along with the flavorful mushrooms and finely chopped chicken. It was incredibly delicious. And the highlight was the blend coffee ground by the forest clock. Grinding coffee beans yourself at a cafe is not something you see every day. The coffee was fantastic. It's a special treat to enjoy slowly in this space. If you're in Furano, be sure to try it. Thank you for the meal.
