Today I had a meal with a senior colleague who is much older than me. Despite the age gap, they were very friendly and easy to talk to. When I arrived, a lot of food had already been ordered, almost to the point of being too much. Each dish, except for the sashimi, came in pairs. My colleague, who is a bit older than me, had a plate to themselves. The grilled fish had a rich flavor and was a comforting dish. The chicken wings were crispy and juicy, very delicious, but I had to give up after one and take the rest home. It was a very meaningful time!

Today's highlight was the KinKi simmered dish! It was so tender and delicious. The sashimi was also fresh and had a nice crisp texture. The tempura was like the ones in Sapporo, with a deep golden color and a light, crispy batter. And the grilled oysters paired perfectly with the sake.

I visited this restaurant for the first time in about 10 years. I had a sashimi assortment, tempura (shrimp, asparagus), grilled cod marinated in sweet miso, deep-fried tofu in broth, rolled omelette, and a few other dishes that I forgot. I also had three drinks. The restaurant has private rooms at every table, making it suitable for small group gatherings. The sashimi, tempura, and deep-fried tofu in broth were particularly good. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

The staff were all wearing beautiful kimonos. The last order time is early. It's nice that there are private rooms. The photo is of a large oyster the size of a palm. It was plump, thick, and rich in flavor. And the silver cod with Kyoto miso was delicious. The sashimi assortment was beautifully arranged, and although we ordered various other dishes, we strangely didn't take any more photos. I will visit again someday when I have more time.

This is a high-quality Japanese restaurant where you can enjoy KinKi (Alaskan yelloweye rockfish) at a reasonable price. In addition to grilling and simmering, they also offer KinKi in a rare boiled style. The elegant proprietress provides attentive service. They have a wide variety of hot pot dishes like Ishikari Nabe, and both seafood from Hokkaido and mountain delicacies are expertly prepared by the chef. The luxurious feast in front of you feels like a banquet in a palace under the sea. This place is recommended for entertaining guests from out of town, special occasions, or enjoying delicious Japanese cuisine in a luxurious way, whether dining alone at the counter or with a group.

Located in the basement of the Urban Building next to Norbesa in the Susukino area, this Japanese restaurant has a slightly high-class traditional atmosphere. The staff, all dressed in traditional Japanese attire, warmly welcome guests. The restaurant offers private rooms, creating a cozy and intimate dining experience. I ordered the Ishikari Nabe (¥2,500) along with a variety of other dishes. The menu also includes Yosenabe and Sanjo Nabe, and with a reservation, you can enjoy delicacies like Fugu Chiri Nabe and Ankou Nabe. Every dish I tried was delicious and satisfying. The Ishikari Nabe, in particular, stood out with its refined and elegant flavor, different from the usual rich miso-based hot pot. While the prices may be a bit higher compared to chain izakayas, the quality of the food makes it worth it for those looking to enjoy a peaceful and delicious Japanese meal.

Hmm... First of all, the restaurant allows smoking, so the air inside is stuffy and unpleasant. The overall interior is old and worn out, with yellow stains from cigarette smoke on the walls and faded prints on cheap-looking dishes. Some are even chipped. The menu is outdated and the presentation is mediocre, like it hasn't changed since the Showa or early Heisei era. The only saving grace was the fish, which tasted good due to the quality of the ingredients. However, everything else was disappointing. For the final course, I chose green tea soba noodles, but even that was lackluster with blurry noodles. Overall, it was a disappointing dining experience that I wouldn't recommend to tourists.

It was the second time, but I want to go back to the first place next. I'm thinking either a sunken kotatsu table or a counter seat.

We went to this restaurant to have a light meal together. The interior was Japanese-style with a private room atmosphere. It's located diagonally across from Kisumu. They have a wide variety of KinKi dishes, which cost around 4500 yen. You can choose between grilled, simmered, or boiled KinKi. I think I went with simmered. I eat KinKi quite often, but honestly, I'm not very familiar with it. You can choose whether to have the Ginnan with or without the shell, and I chose to have it without. The raw oysters were priced by market value. I'm not a big fan, but I tried them. They gave me a big one, and it almost made me lose my memory, but it was creamy. I also tried the cheese-wrapped and fried dish, which goes well with alcohol. The whole fried shrimp was crispy and had a good saltiness, and you can eat it whole. The cabbage and shirasu mixed dish was also delicious. It was a light meal, so after eating here, we moved on to our second destination. Thank you for the meal.

This is a place in Chuo-ku, located in the basement of the Urban Sapporo Building at Minami 3-jo Nishi 4-chome. For the exact location, please check the map on Tabelog as usual. I visited this restaurant for the first time for a certain company meeting, and this time I had the 7,000 yen course menu with drinks ordered a la carte. I arrived at Urban Building 10 minutes before the scheduled time, took the elevator down to the basement, and was guided to the restaurant. We started with a toast with "Kirin Ichiban Shibori" beer, followed by a variety of appetizers including fugu skin and nagaimo salad, conger eel sushi, and boiled asparagus, perfect for pairing with sake. The sashimi platter included botan shrimp, tuna, flounder, and sea urchin. The crab steamed egg custard was elegantly flavored. Tachipon was served as a separate dish with ponzu sauce. The grilled dish was herring, unfortunately not shirako but shirako instead. The main dish was anglerfish hot pot with boiled angler liver, which lacked the richness of liver oil. The anglerfish rice porridge made with the hot pot broth was rich in flavor. For dessert, we had strawberries and apples. I switched to sake after the initial beer toast, enjoying Shimeharitsuru Junmai, Karaho, Tengumai, and more. The restaurant also offers private rooms, making it a good choice for entertaining or small gatherings.

This Sanjotei restaurant is very cozy and welcoming! They can accommodate small to large groups, making it a great choice for hosting guests from out of town. Their specialty is "Northern cuisine," so it's a must-visit for those looking to experience authentic flavors. I recommend trying their Eight-Sided Miso Grilled Dish, Shrimp Treasure Box, KinKi dishes, potato dishes, and Mizore hot pot. The Eight-Sided Miso Grilled Dish is unique because they use a rustic miso paste with vegetables, giving it a delicious and fragrant taste. My personal favorite, the Shrimp Treasure Box, is served wrapped in aluminum foil, creating a sense of excitement as you uncover the surprise inside. I won't spoil the surprise, so you'll have to experience it for yourself. This dish is a creative masterpiece that you won't find elsewhere. For female diners, I recommend trying their potato dishes. Although I don't know the exact names, the dishes resemble small versions of the fried potatoes from Nakayama Pass, coated in seaweed and fried to perfection. The seaweed stays intact even after frying, adding a unique texture to the dish.
