Hokkaido Salt Jingisukan - No name yet. Located in Kametamachi, Hakodate City, Hokkaido. A restaurant that serves shrimp broth ramen during the day and salt Jingisukan (grilled lamb) at night. It had been 4 years since my last visit. I had a great impression of the salt Jingisukan during my first visit, so I made a reservation and looked forward to visiting again. The menu included: Special Hakodate Negi Salt Jingisukan, Raw Lamb Jingisukan, Lamb chops, Homemade Hakodate squid kimchi, Onions, Green peppers, etc. Due to high prices and sourcing issues, they only had lamb and were missing rare cuts like tongue, heart, and liver, as well as some side dishes. The lack of options was disappointing. Even the drink choices were limited. While the restaurant had a menu, it would have been helpful to know about the shortages when making a last-minute reservation. The recommended Special Hakodate Negi Salt Jingisukan was not as impressive as before, with less green onions and a less appealing presentation. The restaurant had participated in an event at Keio Department Store in Shinjuku, Tokyo from 11/12-17, and comparing the photos from there, it was still underwhelming. While I understand the high prices, the lack of vegetable volume was disappointing. The meat tasted decent, but I will likely not choose this restaurant again. I had been looking forward to it, so it was a letdown. Perhaps the previous visit was influenced by running a full marathon, or maybe there is room for improvement in the future. Originally, I had planned to leave quickly after eating as I had a one-hour journey ahead. Thank you for the meal.

The Genghis Khan here is seasoned with salt sauce and three types of salt. The simple seasoning really brings out the deliciousness of the lamb! It's fun to compare the three types of salt. You should definitely try the Special Hakodate Salt Genghis Khan with leeks, it's really delicious. The Inca Awakening was also delicious.

I had Genghis Khan in Hakodate. I tried the raw lamb meat, which was said to be safe to eat raw. I took a bite of the thick meat in rare condition. It was amazing. I was impressed by the taste of the lamb meat, which was not at all heavy or gamey. It was easy to eat it all up. If you can tolerate the smoke filling the room, it's a great restaurant.

This is a restaurant affiliated with an izakaya in Honcho. The local chef in Honcho is a Japanese sake sommelier, and you can enjoy incredibly delicious sake at a low price in a wine glass, so I really like it. This place serves ramen during the day and Genghis Khan (grilled lamb) at night! I was always curious about it as I drove past the front of the restaurant. Apparently, the owner of Ramen TETSUYA is friends with the owner of this place and serves ramen here. I remember hearing about it on FM North Wave's show "Ramen Tetsuya T’s Spirit". When you enter the restaurant, the bright wooden decor creates a very nice atmosphere. The raised seating area is spacious and comfortable. There are three types of Genghis Khan available: raw lamb, topped with green onions, and lamb chops. I tried them all and the meat was really good! You can taste the richness dripping from the meat. The appetizers were also very well thought out. The Mozzarella cheese kimchi was incredibly delicious. It felt like they only picked the best parts of cheese and kimchi for the stone-cooked cheese bibimbap! You can choose from very fresh vegetables for your meal. They also offer all-you-can-drink plans, and the lemon sour drink is made with great care. Just the Genghis Khan alone would have been satisfying, but the best part of this place is that it's also a ramen shop! Since ramen is their specialty, it was incredibly delicious. The shrimp-flavored ramen, which was made with thick noodles instead of the usual thin ones that day, was very tasty as the noodles soaked up the soup. It made me wonder if they are inspired by Ippudo in some way, as the bowls and such seem similar... Come to think of it, I think the friend of Tetsuya who also appeared on the radio show was from Ippudo. Anyway, if you want to eat Genghis Khan in Hakodate, this place is a must-visit. It's a hidden gem in terms of location!

Hakodate Salt Jingisukan - No Name Yet. [First Visit - July 2018] A reservation-only restaurant that operates as a ramen shop called "Local House of Ebi Dashi Ramen" during the day and as a salt Jingisukan restaurant called "No Name Yet." from 6:00 pm. The exterior of the restaurant looks like a typical ramen shop with just a new curtain, so be sure not to miss it. We ordered the following items: Special Hakodate Salt Negi Jingisukan (100g per serving / 890 yen), Raw Lamb Jingisukan (100g per serving / 850 yen), Lamb Chop (890 yen per piece), Asparagus (200 yen per piece), Seasonal Grilled Vegetables - Nagaimo (300 yen for 2 pieces), Homemade Hokkaido Wasabi Salted Fish Roe (300 yen), Chopstick Rest - Octopus and Pickled Radish Marinated in Lemon (500 yen), Grilled Foil with Hokkaido Mozzarella Cheese and Kimchi (450 yen), Half Ebi Dashi Ramen Salt, Half Ebi Dashi Ramen Miso, Sapporo Classic Draft Beer (550 yen), and more. The Special Hakodate Salt Negi Jingisukan offered a unique way of enjoying Jingisukan. The raw lamb shoulder loin is marinated in the restaurant's original sesame oil and homemade salt sauce. The meat is then grilled with plenty of Hokkaido green onions on top. The meat is juicy and fresh, with no unpleasant odor, showcasing the quality of the lamb. The Raw Lamb is not seasoned and served with three condiments - red pepper, kombu salt, and thyme salt. The meat is cut into thick slices, offering a tender and juicy texture. The Lamb Chop is well-grilled on the surface and served with wasabi ponzu sauce. The vegetables are also delicious, including seasonal items like asparagus and nagaimo. The menu offers three types of lamb meat, with additional ramen and side dishes to complement the meal. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, perfect for a 1 to 1.5-hour dining experience. The Ebi Dashi Ramen, especially the salt version, is a must-try. The only drawback may be ventilation, as the restaurant was originally a ramen shop and could get smoky. However, the delicious salt Jingisukan and fresh lamb make it a recommended dining spot in Hakodate.

This was my second time visiting, and the meat was delicious no matter which one I tried. However, the staff didn't explain much, so when I grilled the green onions with the meat, the restaurant filled with smoke. The staff looked at me as if wondering why I was grilling green onions with the meat... It's a shame.

A certain meat-loving female announcer listed this restaurant as the number one place she wants to eat at again. Since I had already decided to go to Hakodate, I thought it might be fate and made a reservation the next day. When I arrived by taxi, I couldn't find the place... I called and found out it was the same as the Ebi Men Sokenkei Sohonke Goryokaku branch. The restaurant had a strong focus on seafood, which is the image associated with Hakodate. The staff were friendly and the seasonal vegetables were explained to us as they were served in a basket. We tried all the meat dishes - salted lamb, green onion salted lamb, and lamb chops. The top choice was the green onion salted lamb, which was surprisingly delicious. The flavor of the lamb, sesame oil, and green onions all combined to create a wonderful taste. The lamb chops were thick and when cooked, the staff came over with scissors to cut and serve them, advising us to cook the fatty parts well. The restaurant also served Hakodate wine, which was appreciated by tourists. The only downside was that as a Genghis Khan restaurant, it was not well-ventilated, so it could get smoky. Overall, the one-dish meals were also delicious. Many other customers seemed to be tourists who had seen the restaurant on TV.

When I returned to Hakodate in the summer and was looking for a delicious Genghis Khan restaurant, I found a place I hadn't been to before with a photo of delicious-looking meat, so I decided to try it out! And guess what! It was the most delicious Genghis Khan I have ever eaten. The meat was thick and fresh, and there were plenty of vegetables to choose from at a reasonable price! There were two types of sauce, salt, and a special seasoning, all of which made the meal superb! I definitely want to go back when I return to Hakodate.

There was information about a popular restaurant near my son's apartment in Hakodate, but it required a reservation so I had given up. We missed out on "Hamasio" because it was fully booked, so we ended up having drinks at "Gai" and then went to "Local House Goryokaku" for ramen. There, we saw a reservation sticker for "Namae wa Mada" and decided to try our luck by applying for a reservation the next day. Luckily, we got in and were able to enjoy delicious Genghis Khan (grilled lamb). It was just enough for my son and I, as we are not big eaters. The Genghis Khan here had a more refined taste compared to "Daruma" and "Hamasio". However, it was disappointing that the draft beer was not cold enough. Please make sure to check and serve it properly.

Seibu Department Store in Ikebukuro is hosting a Hokkaido food fair from April 4th to April 10th. One of the menu items is a Negi Shio Jingisukan bento for 972 yen. The lamb meat is grilled in the store kitchen and it is recommended to eat it right away, but there is no eating space inside, so you have to go to the rooftop to eat. I don't usually have Jingisukan, so I was looking forward to trying it. I ended up getting the ramen from a newly opened shop and taking the Jingisukan bento to go.
