Visited the long-established restaurant "Sushitomi" in Obihiro for the first time in 10 years. The energetic proprietress and her son are still running the famous restaurant. Although the variety of sushi toppings is limited, I tried "Ohyo" for the first time. While I've seen Engawa at conveyor belt sushi restaurants, it was my first time trying it as nigiri sushi. It was smaller in size than I had imagined, with a firm texture and a delicate, delicious flavor. Thank you for the meal.

This is the final sushi of the day in Obihiro, costing 6270 yen. I chose this place on a whim and was greeted by the sushi chef and the landlady. I ordered cold sake and the appetizer was sashimi with miso sauce. It included salmon, scallop, surf clam, but all tasted the same due to the miso flavor. The premium sushi included fatty tuna, scallop, surf clam, amberjack, botan shrimp, snow crab, tuna, abalone, sea urchin, and salmon roe. The quality of the ingredients was decent, but the sea urchin was bitter and not the best. Overall, it was good value for the price.

What I can do now is to support restaurants by being extra cautious. Let's all do our best together! Today, I introduced a friend to another friend's bar for the first time in a while, so I went out into town for a bit. Before that, even though I had lunch, I felt like having sushi, so I visited "Sushi Tomi" for the first time in a while. They offer takeout and are located in Obihiro downtown, Apollo Building 1st floor. The exterior is the Apollo Building, and the interior is clean with 8 counter seats and a raised seating area. I arrived at 6:50 pm. I didn't confirm the prices. They served an appetizer, chef's choice sushi, medium fatty tuna, and alcohol. The sushi pieces were thick and generous, with slightly smaller rice portions that were well-balanced in vinegar and had a firm surface with a fluffy interior, making them very delicious. The scallops were sweet and I will definitely come back for more sushi. Thank you for the meal. Sushi Tomi offers takeout. Business hours are unconfirmed but they close around 11:00 pm (according to them). Closed on Sundays. Thank you for the meal.

After filling our stomachs at the third stop (lol), my companion and I shared two glasses of wine and one glass of limoncello each at the second stop before deciding to stop by Sushi Tomi for a light snack. It was past 10 PM when we arrived, and there was only one other group at the counter. We decided to sit at the counter and ordered one piece of sushi each. My companion switched back to beer, but when I asked for sake (dry), I was recommended the Juyama (junmai) and I enjoyed it. The appetizer included crab and vinegar dish, as well as grilled mackerel. The sushi was made quickly with the rice texture just right, slightly less vinegar, and a hint of seaweed flavor. Here are my thoughts on what we ate (some photos omitted): Kohada: I prefer it a bit firmer. Aji: Fresh fish! I prefer it with ginger and green onions. Kamotsu-bu: The clam was taken out of the shell after ordering, and it had a delicious seaweed aroma and crunchy texture. Sayori: Light and delicious with green onions and ginger, and a sticky texture. Tamago was average. We also ordered chutoro, squid, clam, ikura, tamago, crab, and tuna akami. My companion, who ordered chutoro, said it was the best among all the items we ate. We don't go to sushi restaurants often in Obihiro, but we definitely want to come back to this place. Thank you for the meal!

This is a sushi restaurant located on the first floor of a mixed-use building along the prestigious Meimon Street in Obihiro. The current head chef is the second generation, who appears to be relatively young, possibly in his early 40s. The dishes had a meticulous attention to detail, with finely cut ingredients like squid. The head chef seemed to be a reliable and family-oriented person. They also had delicious-looking crab on the menu, so I'm looking forward to going back again. The restroom was decorated with a large Casablanca plant.

In the Obihiro area, there are three main sushi restaurants: Sushitomi, Kikudai, and Kyuta, along with Tatsunomisushi, which are sometimes called the "Four Heavenly Kings" (at least in my circle). I often use these restaurants for banquets. With a budget of around 6,000 yen (excluding drinks), they serve a lot of food and I am very satisfied. Sometimes I eat at the counter, but it can be a bit pricey. It can easily exceed 10,000 yen if you order appetizers, drinks, and some sushi. It may be a good restaurant to visit occasionally.

On that day, my family decided to go out for sushi at a sushi restaurant on the first floor of a building. It can be a bit intimidating to go in alone without being invited. We sat at the counter and had our sushi made to order. We enjoyed Kohada, Saba, Sayori, Akami, Salmon, Hamachi, Kanpachi, Anago, and Negitoro roll. Especially, Sayori and Tuna were delicious. While Hokkaido has plenty of good conveyor belt sushi places, it's nice to visit a regular sushi restaurant once in a while. Just be aware that there are often people from nearby offices dining there. I couldn't help but notice the old man and his grandson sitting next to us.

The sushi was excellent for 3000 yen. The quality and quantity were satisfying. The fish was fresh and the rice was generous. The atmosphere was calm and the chef was reserved. Eating sushi in such a tense environment was a first for me in Obihiro. I would definitely like to come back for the sushi and drinks. However, they didn't have miso soup. Maybe you have to ask for it to get it? I would like to try the miso soup at a sushi restaurant, as it often reflects the restaurant's style. The shiny fish I ordered was a bit mediocre, but I still want to go back.

Located in the heart of the bustling downtown area of Obihiro City, this restaurant is situated in the Apollo Building, surrounded by vibrant neon lights. Despite the hustle and bustle outside, once you step inside, you'll find a calm and relaxing atmosphere. The quality of the sushi here is above average, as they make sure to offer top-notch ingredients to stay competitive in this area. During my visit, there was a shortage of white fish, but overall, the sushi pieces were thick and satisfying. The especially tender and flavorful fatty tuna was a standout. This is a great place for a light meal before a night out.
