The Premium Malt's was delicious~♪ Having tasty beer is a big plus. I was wandering around after giving up on entering a shop I was planning to visit, as it was too crowded. That's when I stumbled upon Yakiniku Kitatomo, a shop that caught my personal interest. Street-front shops are easy to notice while walking, making them feel more inviting. I had been wanting to visit one more place before calling it a night, but I had been having Genghis Khan for my last meal recently, so I felt like ending the night with yakiniku instead of ramen. After going to Hige, doing karaoke, and having a fourth round, we unexpectedly ended up at a yakiniku place. When I'm sober, I simulate ending the night with ramen or soba, but for some reason, when I'm drunk, I always end up craving meat. Am I obsessed with meat? It seems like I'll have to stick with this meat obsession for life... "I can't stop craving meat" wink maybe? JUST MEAT, it won't stop, anymore♪ Your meal has already begun♪ Sizzle sizzle sizzle, feel it♪ Speaking of which, I passed by the main Hige store, but I decided not to go in since the idea of going from the second round at Hige to the main store made me think of the Hige dance. Before entering, I checked on Tabelog and found that there were only three reviews, and the ratings hadn't been reflected yet, which made me even more curious to try it out. Later on Tabelog, I realized that I had mistaken the shop I was looking at for the 6th street branch. From the appearance of the shop, it seemed like a typical yakiniku restaurant, so I entered with a mix of excitement and apprehension. The staff were friendly and promptly led us to a comfortable table. The yakiniku grill on the table caught my eye, with a vertical striped shape and a fold in the middle. It had a handle, which made me think of a dad joke in my head. It was already past 2 o'clock, but there were two groups of 5-6 people in the raised seating area. There were also a few groups seated at the tables. Despite the late hour, it was quite lively. I couldn't tell what percentage of the customers were, but from their conversations, it seemed like people working in Susukino were having their meals. I started with a beer, which turned out to be delicious! Even though I was already full, I decided to order the cheapest option, Black Wagyu Chuck Flap and Wagyu Cheek. The amount of vegetables, or rather onions, was minimal, but the meat portion looked just right. The volume of meat on the plate seemed typical for a yakiniku restaurant. It's hard to tell if it's Black Wagyu just by looking at it, but it looked delicious. When grilled, the meat was sweet and tasty even without any dipping sauce, and it was quite enjoyable on its own. The dipping sauce was also delicious, but since there was no rice, I alternated between eating the meat with and without the sauce. The quality of the meat wasn't the best, as I had ordered the cheaper option and the fatty parts were a bit tough, but the lean parts were delicious. Paired with beer, the two types of meat cost 2,150 yen, and I was satisfied with the cost performance. Next time, I'll try ordering better quality meat.
