There weren't many people like that, since we entered and two people came in next to us, no one else entered (;^ω^) We arrived at 5:30 pm, so maybe they intentionally sat us next to each other because they would be fully booked with reservations later? I stayed until past 7 pm, but no other customers came in, so maybe they should have spread out the seating a bit. I don't mean to say anything bad, but it can make both parties feel awkward. The food was overall good, except for the Hokkaido striped shrimp sashimi which was a bit lacking. The sashimi platter was carefully prepared with 3 pieces each for our group of 3, which was a nice touch. Ordering after the initial drink was done via smartphone, which is convenient. The 390 yen highball was a bit weak, but when I ordered a double whiskey soda, it was just right when poured into the previous glass. It made me think, coming all the way to Hokkaido for Kyushu cuisine... there might be only local customers here? In that sense, maybe I discovered a convenient restaurant for locals? They didn't have the sake I ordered in stock, so they let me choose a more expensive one instead, which as a sake lover, I was grateful for!

When you walk down Tanuki Koji street, you'll notice a clear signboard. You'll be guided to a table on the second floor. You can order drinks from your smartphone by scanning a QR code. I tried the Kyushu cuisine course without hot pot. The menu included salad, fried dishes, grilled chicken, and yakisoba with a thick sauce. The portions were suitable for the number of people, allowing us to enjoy a variety of dishes. The only downside was the narrow table for two, but overall, it was a great experience to savor the delicious food.

You can easily enjoy Kyushu cuisine at this restaurant. Located in Tanukikoji Sanchome, it is easy to find with a big sign and menu. I used a Hot Pepper coupon for all-you-can-drink, including beer for less than 1,000 yen, but it was only valid until 6 pm, which I missed because I didn't read the fine print. The food is delicious, especially the motsunabe which comes in various options. Overall, it's a place I would like to visit again, but make sure to read the usage conditions carefully before using Hot Pepper coupons for reservations.

【Tanukikoji 3-chome】This is a private room izakaya specializing in Kyushu cuisine. On Saturday night, Sapporo city was bustling with many people, perhaps due to the Autumn Fest. This restaurant was no exception, with a lively atmosphere inside. However, the private rooms are well-sealed, so it feels a bit safer. The ordering method is through a smartphone QR code system, which is becoming more common. The menu is easy to find and responsive, making it user-friendly. The drink all-you-can-drink option, including draft beer, is priced at 1980 yen, which is a bit high for all-you-can-drink these days, so ordering individual items may be more cost-effective. The dishes we ordered - "vinegar motsu," "grilled gyoza," "Nakatsu Karaage," and "takana fried rice" - were all delicious and reasonably priced, offering good value for money. There were still more dishes we wanted to try, but we were too full this time. We look forward to reviewing them next time.

Located on the second floor of a building in Sapporo's Susukino district, this izakaya serves Kyushu cuisine. My wife and I decided to visit this place for dinner as we were in the mood for motsunabe. The interior of the restaurant was spacious with partitioned tables and private-like seating areas. We were lucky to get a table without a reservation, but the place was constantly packed with customers throughout our visit, so I recommend making a reservation in advance. The menu was extensive, offering a variety of Kyushu specialties such as horse meat, satsuma-age, chanpon, and, of course, motsunabe. We ordered motsunabe (soy sauce flavor) for 979 yen per person, homemade grilled dumplings for 495 yen, Kyushu sweet potato fries for 451 yen, and Miyazaki cold soup salad for 649 yen. Every dish we ordered was delicious, but the highlight was definitely the zosui (rice soup) served at the end of the motsunabe. Overall, the prices were reasonable, making it a great choice for Kyushu cuisine lovers or group gatherings.

So, I arrived at Benzaiten in about 30 seconds on foot. After all is said and done, it's all about basashi (horse meat sashimi) today. For more details on the menu, please refer to my previous post. I ordered a variety of horse meat dishes, including kalbi sashimi, lean meat sashimi, carpaccio, and yukhoe. Mostly adult-oriented menu (lol). The kalbi sashimi was so tender and delicious. The lean meat sashimi had a firm texture. And the yukhoe was just as good as always (lol). The carpaccio seemed to be not well received, but I personally enjoyed it. We also tried the "grilled skin skewers," which was listed as the most popular dish, but it was lukewarm and lacked crispiness. I think the one at Nihonichi is better. Another recommendation from a different menu was the "grilled foil with shirako and vegetables." But there was no shirako. We eventually found a small white thing and confirmed if that was it. I suggest removing it from the recommended menu. This place seems to be all about basashi. Well, I still need to try the motsunabe and gyoza (lol). So, I think I'll come back again. Overall, the basashi here is cheap and delicious, so I'll give it a high rating. Thank you for the meal.

Drinking beer from noon, watching Terminator, and then heading to Wantana... I'm still not taking it easy (laughs). My current favorite spot, Tanukikoji. I wander around. Y-chan starts clamoring that she wants to eat something, so I take her to "Yachio." We came here because last time we didn't really eat much. But it's full. We leave the restaurant and I look up and see the words "Kyushu Spirit" on the second floor. I've never been there, but it looks good, so I decide to go. Luckily, the restaurant is not crowded. It's all semi-private rooms? Quite relaxing. Everyone is eating motsunabe. I eat gyoza. Exciting (laughs). First, I order beer, horse sashimi, and motsu pon. The horse sashimi is delicious! I'll definitely order more at this price (laughs). The motsu pon... smells a bit. I can eat it, but it's not disappearing quickly. Next, I order horse toro avocado, recommended chicken skin skewers, and tataki cucumber, but the chicken skin skewers are sold out. So, I order spicy lotus root. The horse toro avocado is undeniably delicious. Tataki cucumber is a classic and perfect for a chopstick break. The spicy lotus root has an irresistible spiciness that tingles in the nose. Delicious! Despite all the good food, I realize we forgot to order motsunabe and gyoza, but we'll save that for next time (laughs). Next time we come, let's eat motsunabe and gyoza! Thank you for the meal! We also didn't order any rice dishes or noodles as a closing. When we drink, we drink properly, the two of us (laughs). It's still too early for the last subway. Y-chan says she found a karaoke place just 100 steps away. Let's go (laughs).

On the third day in Sapporo, for dinner at the second restaurant, someone said, "Are we still eating?!" Yes, someone actually said that. They wanted to eat horse sashimi, and no one said they didn't want to go. Even though they said they wanted horse sashimi, they also ate motsunabe and rice dishes! But I can't eat motsunabe, I don't like offal. So I ate a lot of vegetables! The soup was delicious! And of course, I added champon noodles! I finished it all! The horse sashimi yukhoe had mayonnaise in it, which made me go "hmm..." I didn't understand the need for mayonnaise... But the motsunabe soup was delicious, so it's all good!

I used this place for the second party of a drinking party. I happened to walk by and saw an advertisement outside saying that all-you-can-drink was cheap, so I decided to go in. Since I didn't drink much in the first party, I decided to take advantage of the all-you-can-drink offer. I had a beer for my first drink, but for my second drink and onwards, I requested random cocktails. The staff's service was not bad. I remember ordering motsunabe, but I was too drunk to remember, and there are no photos or videos of it.

There was a staff member with a wonderful smile. The restaurant is not completely private, and the smoke coming from above was quite bothersome. The highball drink for 99 yen (excluding tax) had a lot of variation in taste, starting off light and then becoming strong. The beer was Premium Malt's, but the bitterness was more noticeable than the usual sweetness. The appetizer, chicken and vegetable simmered dish, received mixed reviews from the table. The dumplings and shumai seemed to have a consistent taste and quality, feeling like they were pre-made. The dumplings were advertised as a specialty handmade dish, but the texture of the skin was not to everyone's liking. The black pork shumai was crispy on the outside and tender inside after being steamed. With one more person joining for drinks, we decided to order a meat sushi platter with three different types. The roast beef, chicken sashimi, and horse meat sushi were not of the same quality as a sushi specialty restaurant, but it was a good opportunity to try something different. Overall rating: 3.0 Taste: 3.0 Service: 3.3 Atmosphere: 3.2 Value for money: 3.5 Drinks: 2.8 Address: 3-15 Minami 3 Jonishi, Chuo-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido, 2nd floor of Takeuchi Building Kyushu Spirit, Tanuki Koji Branch ☆☆☆ Next episode preview ☆☆☆ I'm starting to crave the chip sushi from Lake Shikotsu.

I can't believe it~ What do you mean? Actually, there was another new restaurant opening on the same day, located in the building right behind this one. Both restaurants operate with private rooms only. I visited the other restaurant first and then stopped by here around 8 pm. Unfortunately, I was turned away because they were fully booked. So, I ended up killing time at Erika's home-style restaurant. Then, to my surprise, toto-G, who had been ripped off at a sushi restaurant, joined me here. The office workers in the neighborhood wasted no time in reserving 99 yen beers and drinking to their heart's content. After two hours, they quickly headed home. That's why I was able to get in here. The place was empty. Totoron isn't particularly drawn to Kyushu cuisine, but being a meat lover, I visited this time with the aim of ordering "homemade gyoza (8 pieces) for 420 yen (excluding tax)," "assorted meat sushi (3 pieces) for 450 yen (excluding tax)," and "Kyushu Wagyu roast beef sushi (2 pieces) for 490 yen (excluding tax)." The homemade gyoza was already ordered by the D group who arrived before me, so I quickly got my hands on them. I also ordered the assorted meat sushi (3 pieces) as planned. It consisted of chicken, horse, and beef. Surprisingly, the chicken was delicious. Since I had eaten well at the previous restaurant, this was enough for me this time.

The background music and the staff's energetic voices gave off a lively vibe, almost like a Yosakoi festival atmosphere. The staff's voices were loud, not just friendly. The clientele seemed to be the same type of people. I made a mistake ordering the monjayaki, as it burnt quickly and tasted terrible, haha. I decided to avoid ordering food and just focus on the drink all-you-can. The dessert was just a regular frozen one. The appetizer was shrimp crackers. I guess it's expected at this kind of place. If you're just looking for drink all-you-can, it might be okay! I personally won't go back again.

The variety of drinks is impressive and suitable for women. The female companion was very pleased. I am fine with just beer and shochu, but it seems that women prefer lighter options, which met their needs.

We made a reservation for a course and enjoyed motsunabe, gyoza, and yakitori. The motsunabe in soy sauce flavor was very popular, we even ordered seconds. The gyoza and other dishes were also delicious. The drink all-you-can option had a wide variety, which was great for women. The cost performance was good, but it would be even better if the table seats were a bit wider. We were a group of 3 this time.
