◆◆◆◆◆◆ 【Second Post】 ◆◆◆◆◆◆ 【January 2013】 This is my second post, so lightly. This winter has been heavy snow, with many shops around the house. My usual companion is shoveling snow while I go shopping for bento. Until 2-3 years ago, I used to shovel snow. Visited around 1 pm. Quite a few customers come in. Many customers buy the "nori bento." When looking at the menu, there was a 50 yen discount during weekday lunchtime. It was 320 yen, but now it's 270 yen. I bought one at that price. The miso soup was 20 yen off, so it was 100 yen. I bought some other items as well. Waited for about 10 minutes in the store. ■ Nori Bento Weight about 400g Rice with seaweed on top, under the seaweed is simmered kelp, white fish fry, tempura, pickles, and kimpira burdock 320 yen (270 yen during weekday lunchtime) I think 270 yen is enough. I can see why everyone buys it. ■ Pork Cutlet Curry Weight about 550g The curry roux was unexpectedly spicy. The curry roux is served separately, which is nice. The cutlet is thin but delicious when freshly fried. The rice is well cooked, served with pickles 1033 calories, a bit expensive but understandable 500 yen ■ Pork Miso Soup Ingredients include pork, carrots, onions, potatoes, burdock, radish, etc. The ingredients are decent. Comes with shichimi pepper in a small bag. It warms you up in winter. 120 yen (100 yen on that day) It's a very reasonable price. The taste is better at Arinko, which is more popular and costs 240 yen. At 100 yen, this one is a better deal. This was my first time trying the "nori bento." I think it's very good for the price. It's nice to see it priced at 270 yen these days. ◆◆◆◆◆◆ 【First Post】 ◆◆◆◆◆◆ A bento shop that doesn't pre-make their bentos. I tried takorice for the first time. 【June 2011】 A bento shop that doesn't pre-make their bentos, Hotto Motto. You can always eat warm bentos here. This shop is located in the Kuwazon area of Chuo-ku, Sapporo, on the Kuwazon Fukuzumi Street. For the exact location of the shop, please check it on Tabelog. The bentos are always made to order, so you have to wait a bit, but they are more delicious and cost-effective than convenience store bentos. This shop is very crowded during weekday lunchtime, so it's delicious and reasonably priced, but I recommend avoiding lunchtime. It might be safer to make a reservation. I visited to try takorice, which I had never eaten before. Based on the name, I thought it might be a bento with octopus sashimi, octopus tempura, soft-boiled octopus, and fried octopus. Mexican Takorice, 440 yen Cheese Mexican Takorice, 490 yen I chose the cheaper Mexican Takorice. I paid in advance, so there was no turning back. Around 3 pm on a weekday, there was one customer ahead of me, maybe ordering multiple items. After about 20 minutes of waiting, the Mexican Takorice was ready. It takes quite some time. I went straight home. As a snack, my friend and I tried a little. The Mexican Takorice had a tropical vibe and tasted better than expected. Surprisingly delicious, my friend and I agreed. However, I couldn't compare it to Takorice from other shops. For that, I'll rely on comments from reviewers. Tabelog is very convenient. Hotto Motto has a stable taste and few disappointments, so it's worth using. Takorice, born from tacos, not vinegar octopus. While reminiscing about my first Takorice, we enjoyed the meal for two.
