Occasionally, how about having a sashimi set meal at home? Ding! I got it, "Ogawa Suisan". The issue is whether there are any complimentary items left, it's 4:00 PM. Yes, they had it - a sashimi assortment for 1,500 yen! My wife wasn't in the mood, so she seems to be just going through the motions, so my son and I will enjoy it! Chutoro, cured mackerel, salmon, scallop, surf clam, crab, shrimp, firefly squid. "It smells a bit fishy, are you okay?" my wife asked. I think it's this, the "firefly squid". Since my wife loves squid, she said, "Well, just a little taste," and ended up not stopping, using chopsticks. In the end, all three of us ended up eating it, it's a bit too little, isn't it? But we all enjoyed delicious sashimi together, so we're satisfied. Next time, let's treat our daughter too! Thank you for the meal (^o^)

After watching Mairevi's report, I visited Uogoku Ogawa Suisan, a fish shop that caught my interest. The store on the first floor of an apartment building was a bit intimidating to enter (lol). I got the sashimi platter for ¥1500, which was a great deal. It was packed with sashimi and definitely worth the price. Of course, sashimi goes well with alcohol. I went straight home and started a daytime drinking session with the sashimi platter as a snack. I paired it with Sapporo Lager and Otomen sake from Omi. It was a winning combination.

In a quiet residential area in Kitago, Shiraito-ku, there is a popular local fish shop with a sign that is a bit hard to notice. The owner, who runs the shop alone, is always busy with a constant stream of customers. The sashimi platter for 1500 yen, which is the main attraction, is always available for purchase, while other items seem to be available by reservation only. The platter is filled with thickly sliced and generous portions of various types of fish, usually around 6-8 varieties, sometimes even more. The freshness of the tuna, scallops, white fish, sea urchin, crab, mackerel, salmon, and octopus is excellent. The quantity is quite large for two people, making it an amazing deal for 1500 yen. I found a great restaurant!

This is a review of a takeout sushi shop in Shiraishi Ward. I had been wanting to visit for a while but initially missed it because it's not flashy. Inside, there were plenty of dried fish and fresh seafood. I bought a sashimi assortment to take home. It included 8 items and cost 1,500 yen including tax. It was quite a generous portion.

The year-end of Reiwa 2 is also celebrated with a sashimi platter from Ogawa Suisan. Advance reservation required. It's full of volume and freshness! Lots of tuna. A case of fresh sea urchin. Half a snow crab. The octopus is tender. It wouldn't be a proper end to the year without this. I can imagine the hardships faced by those in the food and beverage industry during the pandemic year. Let's hope that in Reiwa 3, this pandemic will be gone, and everyone can enjoy food in peace.

This year, we had our traditional hand-rolled sushi for Christmas at home. Of course, we ordered the ingredients from Ogawa Suisan (advance notice is required). It was so delicious! Lately, my son and daughter have been developing more mature taste buds, so there's a competition for the sushi toppings (laughs).

I use this place almost every week. Today, I was thinking of buying tuna, but... they also have whale meat. If you're unsure, why not get both! Tonight, I will enjoy an at-home drinking party with a dual wield of tuna and whale meat. Tuna with wasabi soy sauce! Whale meat with ginger soy sauce! It's so delicious. I'm satisfied. I visit Ogawa Suisan every week, and today they had something unusual - whale meat. The friendly owner recommended it, so I bought some. I sliced it at home and garnished it with shiso leaves. I dipped it in ginger soy sauce and tried it - delicious! It had no fishy smell and was very tender. It was as good as horse sashimi I had in Kumamoto. I enjoyed it with some sake. During the state of emergency, I haven't eaten out for over a month. But then, a friend contacted me saying they were selling delicious sashimi at a discounted price. They were offering special prices in order to secure sales during the pandemic. I decided to go out for shopping for the first time in a while to enjoy it at home. When I entered the store, there were two other customers already there. The sashimi platter I was looking for was on display. The staff informed me that they tend to sell out of the large sashimi platters by the evening. Besides the sashimi platter, they also had other fresh and delicious fish like hokke. Despite the limited selection, the quality was excellent given the circumstances. I purchased the "Sashimi Platter 8 pieces (1,500 yen)" and each piece was large, fresh, and delicious.

Hokkaido is just a little more patience until the end of the corona pandemic. Patience is key. Today, I visited Ogawa Suisan again. - Assorted sashimi (1,500 yen) - Bara Chirashi (1,000 yen) I was rewarded for my patience. The sashimi assortment today was amazing, with a big piece of tuna right in the center. Lucky me! There was also a rare Bara Chirashi, with a generous amount of salmon roe. It was a tough choice, but I ended up getting both. Now, it's time to switch to evening drink mode!

Today is May 3rd, Sunday. Although the shop is usually closed, they are offering a special menu of sashimi platter for 1,500 yen and a BBQ seafood set for 3,500 yen for takeout. This is to encourage people to stay home. It's much appreciated. Local residents and regular customers were seen coming to make purchases. Today is a slightly late Hinamatsuri! We continue to refrain from going out, but my daughter requested hand-rolled sushi. I had already asked Ogawa Suisan in advance. It cost 5,000 yen. As always, it feels like they're making no profit with the amount they give. The menu includes: lots of tuna, salmon, cured mackerel, gizzard shad, flatfish, scallops, surf clams, salmon roe, flying fish roe, crab, and flounder. My daughter, the star of Hinamatsuri, started with her favorite salmon roe and was very happy. I started with the tuna from Sakasaka Shoten and paired it with Hachisaku Sake. It was delicious! I enjoyed one dish after another, sashimi and hand rolls. Thank you, Ogawa Suisan, as always. It was a great meal!

Grandpa, grandma, and my younger brother's family all gathered to celebrate the New Year. We ended the year with sashimi from Ogawa Suisan. It's a scene we see every year, but my niece, who loves sashimi, was thrilled! She conquered all the varieties like tuna, scallops, and whale bacon. The three adult men enjoyed pairing it with Hachimansan from Hayasaka Shoten. Delicious! It was a great meal.

A slightly early Christmas. The adults toasted with sashimi! We asked Ogawa Suisan to make a sashimi platter for 5,000 yen. The volume was surprising. - Tuna lean - Tuna medium fatty - Salmon - Shrimp - Tsubu (whelk) - Scallop - Squid - Octopus - Yellowtail - Squid - Salmon roe - Flying fish roe We paired it with Japanese sake. The words that came out of our mouths were "Delicious!" My ooh-goodness. Thank you for the feast.

It's Saturday. I visited the restaurant again today, aiming for tuna. As soon as I entered the shop, I locked onto the red snapper! It's thicker and bigger than what you can find at the supermarket. I couldn't decide between tuna or red snapper, so I ended up buying both!! Now I just need to buy some sake and enjoy my evening drink!

I went to a drinking party yesterday and quietly enjoyed grilled bluefin tuna fins, but I was a little disappointed that there was no tuna sashimi! So today is Saturday! As usual, I visited Ogawa Suisan to buy tuna, and they gave me a piece of salmon as a service. Thank you! It's hot today, so I will enjoy tuna and salmon sashimi with cold sake.

I rely on this place almost every weekend. Today, I wanted to eat tuna red meat so I stopped by. The friendly owner is preparing the sashimi that was ordered. I took a look! Today, there is a delicious pickled mackerel available! I tried a sample of the cut piece. The slightly tangy vinegar flavor is exquisite. I forgot to take a photo of the cross-section of the pickled mackerel, but it looked like something you would see on Yoshida Rui's "Sakaba Hourouki" TV show (laughs). I purchased it as a side dish for tonight and paired it with sake. It was really good. In times of blackout power outages during the earthquake, many people reportedly contacted Ogawa Suisan when fresh food disappeared from supermarkets. Even on the third day of the earthquake, we were able to buy sashimi. Grateful to Ogawa Suisan!
