Handmade soba noodles were offered at this restaurant, which I had noticed before but never paid much attention to. The atmosphere inside was like visiting a grandfather's house, with a friendly elderly owner running the place single-handedly. The dining area was different from what I had imagined. I ordered the new soba noodles (cold) for 800 yen, which came in a slightly cheap-looking basket with pickled radish and simmered kombu seaweed on the side. The aroma was subtle when I brought it close to my nose. The noodles were standard, with a slightly noticeable binder, and the flavor lingered decently. The dipping sauce had a mellow sweetness and a good dashi flavor. However, there were too many uneven cuts in the noodles, which is something they need to work on. When I asked if the noodles were made with a 80:20 ratio, I was told that they were. The owner seemed to think I was a soba professional, but I just really enjoy soba noodles.

I discovered a shop in Yagumo-cho behind Sapporo Medical University a while ago but haven't visited yet. Lunch starts at 11:50 (although some customers had already finished eating when I arrived). The details are unclear. The owner seems to be an older gentleman running the shop alone. The menu mainly consists of soba, all made with new buckwheat this season. Although I was tempted by the Yagumo Black Wagyu Steak Don on the right, I started with the Tempura Soba for 1400 yen. The tempura had a generous serving and came with salad, side dishes, and even a small portion of rice. The ventilation seemed poor as there was a smoky atmosphere for some reason. Even after leaving the shop, I still felt like I had been smoked...

When it gets hot, the symptoms worsen, and it is a designated rare disease by the government. Unfortunately, there is still no medication that suits me. I will be reviewing based on my condition, so likes and comments may be delayed, thank you. [October 2019] "Yakumo-cho Dining" is a restaurant run by a man from Yakumo-cho. It operates as a cafeteria during the day and as an izakaya at night. I often visit near the store, but the difficulty of visiting is surprisingly high due to parking. I made my first visit for lunch via a pharmacy with my usual companion from the usual hospital. (Laughs) This restaurant is located in the Odori area of Chuo-ku, Sapporo, just south of Sapporo Medical University Hospital. Please check the exact location of the store on Tabelog. I visited around 11:50 am on a weekday. Lunch time is from 11:50 am to 3 pm. The interior of the store is designed like an izakaya. There are two 4-seat tables at the L-shaped counter. There were no previous customers, and there were 4 customers behind. I sat at a table. The lunch menu includes soba and steak using Yakumo-produced beef. The soba was new soba. I was interested in the "chef's choice set," and when I asked, it was soba and bamboo shoot tempura. Since it's new soba, cold soba was recommended. I ordered the "chef's choice set" with cold soba. My usual companion also ordered the "chef's choice set" with cold soba. After waiting for 12 minutes, the two "chef's choice sets" appeared. Chef's Choice Set Cold Soba Mini soba, flat soba with decent flavor. The soup has a strong dashi flavor, with grated daikon and tempura of freshly fried bamboo shoots. It's crispy and well-finished. There are many of them. Simmered hijiki, gentle and elegant taste Salad Mini salad Red core radish Shredded cabbage Onion dressing Rice White rice with furikake Price: 980 yen (tax included) The "chef's choice set" was an enjoyable Japanese set meal. What's especially pleasing is the freshly fried "bamboo shoot tempura." It has a nice flavor. It's also nice to have a lot of them. The "soba" is mini soba. It came with both soba soup and tempura dipping sauce. I feel like trying the soba as a standalone dish. The "salad" with "red core radish" creates a nice color scheme. I stopped by the pharmacy on the way home to pick up my medication and then returned home. Next time, I might try the "Black Wagyu Steak Donburi & New Soba Set for 1500 yen." It was delicious, thank you for the meal.

I finally visited the Yagumo-cho Dining restaurant that I had wanted to go to for a while. There is no parking lot, so we had to use a nearby parking area. When we entered the restaurant, there were already two groups of customers. The owner seemed to be managing the place alone and looked quite busy. Luckily, we were able to get a table, but those who came after us were turned away because it would take some time to serve them. After about 15 minutes, my husband's steak bowl arrived. Then, about 5 minutes later, my steak bowl with soba set was served. Lately, I can't seem to stop eating and I'm getting fatter. Now, the steak bowl had tender meat and a gentle sweet sauce with butter that was delicious. The amount of rice was just right. The soba was served warm and had a very gentle and light broth with soft noodles. The noodles lacked a bit of firmness, maybe they were cooked too long? The soba here is all made from new buckwheat, so I kind of wanted to try it with a seiro. The portion size was decent, but the soba was so light that I was able to eat it easily. I'm full now! Thank you for the meal!

I went there early in the morning on a regular day. The handmade soba noodles and burdock tempura were delicious.

I never expected that rice would come with the meal... The side dishes were also seasoned just the way I like it. Salad was included too. The new soba had a good texture and was delicious.

There was a shop near the back of NTT Sapporo Hospital. I went to other shops in Maruyama Park but they were closed on Wednesdays. I tried a few other places but they were all closed. I learned about Yubari beef for the first time. Many people were ordering soba for lunch, but I decided to try the Yubari black beef steak donburi set. It was ¥1500 and a bit expensive, but it was delicious. The owner was alone but the food was carefully prepared. They also have a ¥980 daily special lunch set, which I would like to try next time.

The soba noodles have a firm texture and a slightly strong aroma. The broth contains a hint of mountain wasabi, which adds a nice accent. Delicious.

On the 3rd day of my business trip to Hokkaido in May 2018, I had lunch at a restaurant near Sapporo Medical University Hospital. The restaurant had a new soba menu, which caught my attention. I decided to try the soba, which was served with mountain wasabi on the side. The soba was delicious, with a good texture and flavor. I also noticed a black wagyu beef steak bowl on the menu, but I opted for the soba as I wasn't very hungry. The combination of soba and mountain wasabi was perfect. While the steak bowl looked tempting, I enjoyed the simplicity and taste of the soba.

Date and time: September 18, 2015 (Friday) 12:30 PM - Located at 15-chome, Minami 4-jo Nishi, Chuo-ku, Sapporo. A restaurant along Minami 3-dori, on the south side of the medical university. There was a flag outside the restaurant that caught my attention, and upon further investigation, I found out that they serve a bowl made with beef from Yakumo. Additionally, there was a sign on the exterior saying, "We have started making fresh soba noodles!!" During lunchtime on a weekday at 12:30 PM, the interior of the restaurant had an L-shaped counter surrounding the kitchen. Tables were set up by combining two 2-seater tables. The customers included two young individuals from the medical university at the counter, a solo elderly woman, and a group of three elderly individuals at a table. I was torn between choosing the beef bowl and the soba noodles, but ultimately decided to go with the soba. I opted for the soba set, which came with two side dishes, but the owner asked me if I was okay with no rice, so I changed my order to include tororo (grated yam) rice. The soba noodles were made with 100% buckwheat flour and had a homemade feel to them, with a fragrant aroma. The flour used was not from Yakumo, but from Kokumatsunai. The noodles were slightly irregular in thickness, giving them a homemade touch. The dipping sauce was a bit on the lighter side. The condiments included green onions, grated daikon radish, and mountain wasabi. The tororo rice had a yellow hue, with the egg already mixed in. It had a mild dashi flavor, and soy sauce was provided on the side. The two side dishes were simmered dried radish, eggplant, and cabbage, as well as cucumber and seaweed in vinegar. I also noticed tempting menu items like Hokki clam curry. The steak bowl made with Yakumo beef also looked delicious. Since there is only one owner, there might be a wait during busy lunch hours.

There is a restaurant called Yagumocho Dining located south of a certain medical university. It consists of an L-shaped counter and one table, with a slightly spacious layout. It seems to be a restaurant that uses ingredients from Yagumocho, judging by the name. The owner operates the restaurant alone during lunch hours. I ordered the Yagumocho beef steak bowl. It comes with two side dishes and miso soup. The beef steak is tender and sweet, and it goes well with the sweet sauce. It is served with mountain wasabi, which adds a refreshing touch. This is delicious. When I visited before, I had the beef stew. It was a thin stew, and I felt it could use a bit more thickness. The taste was good. They also have seafood, which I am curious to try.

Hakumocho Dining was a bit hard to notice while driving, but I happened to see it and decided to go in. I ordered the Hakumo beef steak bowl. It came with two side dishes and miso soup. The Hakumo beef steak was tender and flavorful. The buttery and sweet sauce on top of the rice was delicious. The miso soup had seaweed in it, which was healthy. The side dishes were carrots with dried daikon radish and kelp, and tofu with soy sauce and bonito flakes. They were all in a traditional Japanese style and tasted great. The lunch portion was filling and satisfying. The owner was managing the restaurant alone and the service was average. I saw the evening menu outside and got curious about the Hakumo beef steak course. I wish I had tried the dessert in the course. Overall, I was impressed and would like to try other dishes next time.

I went to a restaurant that uses ingredients from Yakumo town for their steak set meal. I wanted to try the Yakumo beef bowl or the Hokuyakobai curry based on the reviews, but the lunch menu mostly consisted of hand-made soba noodles that day, and the Hokuyakobai curry was not available. The lunch menu may change depending on the day's ingredients. I couldn't decide between the Yakumo beef steak bowl and the black wagyu steak set, but ended up choosing the black wagyu steak set. The tender steak is eaten with black salt, allowing the meat's flavor to come through directly. The two side dishes were stir-fried udo and stir-fried butterbur, both carefully made and delicious. The miso soup had a rich flavor with crab broth. The black wagyu steak set cost 1,300 yen and had plenty of vegetables, making it a well-balanced meal. Next time, I want to try the Yakumo beef steak bowl and the Hokuyakobai curry.
