Today, I had a long-awaited reunion with an old friend at a local izakaya where I used to live. I had been to this restaurant several times before it moved, but this was my first time visiting the new location. We were seated in a private room where we could order like at a karaoke place, by phone. It was perfect for catching up and having a good chat. We started with a toast with beer. For our order, we had a platter of three appetizers: kabocha squash, komatsuna spinach ohitashi, and lotus root kinpira. The home-style dishes were elegantly seasoned and very delicious. We also had dashimaki tamago, a fluffy rolled omelette with a hint of dashi flavor, which was also very tasty. The beef tendon stew was perfect for snacking with drinks. The octopus sashimi was average. The pickled nagaimo (Japanese yam) was surprisingly delicious. The fried chicken, made with probably chicken breast meat, was tender and very tasty. Every dish we tried was delicious, just like I remembered from before. It was a great meal. Thank you for the delicious food.

Today's first stop was at the recently relocated "Nanohana" restaurant. It's conveniently close to the previous location, on the second floor of Tsubohachi Nopporo. The menu doesn't seem to have changed much from before, but now they have private rooms available for a quiet dining experience. They offer a variety of reasonably priced side dishes, perfect for when you want to enjoy a meal in a cozy atmosphere. Overall, it's a recommended izakaya for those looking for home-style cooking. Thank you for the meal.
