A restaurant located in the Ion shopping mall's restaurant area. The menu is extensive, with a vibe similar to a family restaurant. It was nice to have kama-meshi, and it was delicious. Shopping for the end of the year. Purchased various items at the department store and supermarket, and it was lunchtime. Since it's December 31st, the usual places I go to are closed, right? So, I decided to visit the restaurant area at Hassamu Ion. Since I was there, I decided to try a restaurant I had never been to before. I chose Kakashi-san. We smoothly entered and looked at the menu. There are lunch menu, limited-time menu, and grand menu options. There were so many choices that I would usually hesitate, but on this day, I made a quick decision. I was drawn to the "Winter Seasonal Kago Kaiseki" for 1,386 yen. Oysters! The oyster kama-meshi, tempura, salad, and chawanmushi are included. The oyster kama-meshi smelled wonderful when the lid was opened. It was great! There were four large, plump oysters in it. I enjoyed the first serving as it was. The seasoning was just right, and the finished dish was nice. I wish there was a bit more of the oyster scent infused into the rice itself. But the oysters were delicious, so I was satisfied. For the second serving, I added the dashi and condiments to enjoy it like ochazuke. The dashi was excellent! The wasabi had a sharp kick to it, which was nice. It was more delicious than I had imagined, and I was satisfied. The tempura included shrimp, lotus root, pumpkin, eggplant, and okra. It was like a snack, with a crispy texture that didn't feel cheap. The tempura sauce was to my liking, with a refreshing taste. The shrimp had no fishy smell and was plump, which left a lasting impression. The chawanmushi was not sweet, which was good! I don't like sweet chawanmushi, so I was happy with this one. It had few ingredients, with two small chestnuts inside. The salad was delicious, but since the other dishes were on the salty side, I would have preferred a bit less dressing. This was the last lunch of the year, and overall, I was satisfied. My companion had the Kago Lunch, and they seemed quite satisfied as well. It's located inside Ion, so it might be a good option when you want to eat Japanese food while shopping. I didn't order from the juice bar, but when I peeked at it on our way out, it looked familiar. It turns out it's from the same group as Gin Shari Gokoku, which I visited recently at Ion Hiraoka store. I had the sea bream kama-meshi there, but I preferred the oyster one this time. I'll visit again. Thank you for reading my reviews throughout the year. I'll continue writing next year, so I would be happy if you continue reading!
