On Valentine's Day, I received wine from my wife as a gift because chocolate makes you gain weight. She told me to buy it myself, but it had to be under 3,000 yen. So, I chose a wine priced at 2,592 yen, close to the limit. I may regret this decision when thinking about the expenses for White Day. My mother-in-law usually gives me chocolates on Valentine's Day, but this year she gave me beer due to certain circumstances. My 3-month-old son received chocolates. Overall, I visited "Gran Vin Cellar Sapporo Tokyu Store" and tried the Verget Bourgogne Blanc Terre de Pierre '15. This wine is characterized by its dryness and soft acidity. It is refreshing and easy to drink, with a hint of depth. Delicious!

A wine shop in Susukino, Tokyu store, has opened. Just like in Susukino, they have a wine bar where you can do paid tastings. And guess what, they have Opus One available for tasting! Opus One 2014, 60ml for 5400 yen. My wife's complaints and grumbles are all shut out. I would never buy a bottle myself or drink it at a store. No store would serve it in a glass for free, and I don't have any friends who would offer it to me for free. So, I have no choice but to drink it, that's obvious. I know for sure it's not my favorite type (laughs). But hey, no complaints should come from someone who has never tasted it. It's 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot, and 2% Malbec. Fermented and macerated with an average of 20 days of skin contact. Aged in new French oak barrels for 18 months. The color is a bright red, not as dark as expected. The aroma is not only floral and elegant, but also has a hint of richness. The taste is not only berry-like, but also has a sweetness like confectionery, with a smooth mouthfeel. The New World coffee-like taste is not strong, so it doesn't get boring to drink. In a word, delicious. This was unexpectedly satisfying. It would be difficult to drink a whole bottle alone, contrary to what I imagined. If I were to buy a bottle at the same price, I would still choose a Bordeaux or Burgundy without hesitation, but this is undeniably delicious. The score I gave is not about the taste of the wine. Afterwards, I bought a wine to pair with deli foods from a Western-style store in the basement of a department store. Just like in Susukino, there were plenty of bargain wines with a 100 yen discount. A Grenache from the Rhone region, where the producer achieves a balance between nature and refinement. In warm regions, the sweetness from the alcohol content usually stands out, but here it was subtle and truly balanced. If you're buying wine for daily consumption, this is the best wine shop in Sapporo. Of course, it's different when it comes to special wines, but this place is also good.

I purchased two items, the unfiltered junmai daiginjo sake "Fumi GOLD" and North Island Beer, at Granvanselier Sapporo Tokyu Store in Susukino, a place where I often buy alcohol. The Fumi GOLD sake caught my attention with its flashy label and auspicious visual. I had bought it somewhere before, maybe at Granvanselier or another store. When I tasted it again, I was reminded of its taste - a hint of elegant junmai aroma. It was a pleasant experience to drink it while admiring the bottle. I could taste both acidity and richness, although the acidity seemed slightly different from what I usually prefer. There was also a hint of sweetness, creating a refreshing taste. I really enjoyed the beer, as I usually like this type. Overall, it was delicious. The store also offers a place to enjoy a drink, so I am looking forward to visiting again soon.

After a break of about four years, Tabelog has undergone various system changes. Currently, it is in a state where it is difficult to understand how to write reviews, similar to the story of Urashima Taro. In May 2018, I visited Granvanser, a specialty store for wine and other alcoholic beverages. They recently opened a store in a department store for the first time. I visited with my usual companion in search of a good deal on wine. The store is located in the JR Sapporo Station J area, specifically in the Tokyu Food Show on the first basement floor of the Tokyu Department Store in Sapporo. As it was a new opening, they had several types of "wine surprise bags" available. I spotted a reasonably priced "Burgundy red wine surprise bag limited to 120 bottles" and decided to buy it. Inside was the "Marange Premier Cru La Fussiere Rouge 2014." The wine had a relatively light and clean taste with a decent fruity flavor. The price was around 3,780 yen, which was almost the same as the regular price of 3,888 yen. Unfortunately, the expected discount for the new opening was not there. Typically, department stores offer discounts during new openings to attract repeat customers. However, in this case, there was no special deal. The staff's service was also typical of a regular wine shop rather than a department store. It seems like they still have a long way to go to adjust to the department store environment. Overall, I raised my rating to 3.0 with hopes for improvement in the future. I look forward to trying a different wine next time. Thank you for the delicious meal.

"Moe Cashew" (Moé Cashew) 410 yen. When paying for the wine, I noticed some cashew nuts with skins on displayed next to the register and decided to buy them as well. They are large and sweet Cambodian cashew nuts that are sustainably sourced. Located at Granvansera Sapporo Tokyu Department Store, B1F, 2-1 Kita 4 Jonishi, Chuo-ku, Sapporo.

I would rather be arrested by mini-skirt police than self-restraint police, chappytsum here. So, I visited "Granvanser Sapporo Tokyu Store." My wife said, "Buy me sparkling wine for my birthday," so that's why I went. She didn't ask me to be the sparkling wine's partner, so that's a relief (lol). I bought Fita Azur Attitude Reserve Brut for 1980 yen (tax included). It's a dry sparkling wine with a sharp taste that is easy to drink. It's not exceptionally delicious, but you could easily have multiple glasses. That's probably enough for a review of rosé and sparkling wine, right? (lol)
