When I visited the Sapporo Dome for a soccer game and had some spare time, I decided to stop by. It was my first time trying tapioca, and to be honest, I didn't quite understand its appeal, but I liked how convenient it was to drink. The price was a bit high, but it's nice to have once in a while.

I decided to try a popular tapioca shop that opened near the Sapporo Dome where I often go. It was my first time trying tapioca. You order by moving sideways. It costs around 600 yen, which is quite expensive. You can adjust the sweetness and amount of ice. Surprisingly, if you want no ice, it costs an extra 50 yen. I guess they have to chill it separately and then remove the ice, so the price goes up. Since it's already October and getting cold, I chose normal sweetness and less ice. When I held the cup, the tapioca at the bottom was warm, while the ice on top was cold. I used a thick straw to mix it and tried it. It had a nice sweet taste and the chewiness of the tapioca was enjoyable. It's quite filling, so it's good even when you're hungry. As everyone says, maybe it's good to try it once and that's it.

There is a tapioca shop on a pedestrian bridge from Fukuzumi Station on the subway to the Sapporo Dome. It is take-out only and there is no parking. It is not a place that many people visit unless they are going to the Sapporo Dome. I thought it was started by the neighboring izakaya, but apparently they are not related. The menu only has brown sugar, brown sugar matcha, and strawberry milk, so I chose brown sugar. The tapioca pearls are small and sweet. There is a lot of ice, so when you finish your drink, the leftover tapioca gets buried in the ice and it is difficult to drink. It might be fun for kids, like a treasure hunt.
