Located in a residential area about a 10-minute walk from Sapporo Station North Exit, this restaurant inside a guesthouse was originally a student dormitory and has been beautifully renovated. There is a cafe space downstairs where you can also enjoy meals. They serve thick sandwiches with crispy lettuce and plenty of eggs. The American coffee was also delicious.

Stayed at a guest house that was renovated from Hokkaido University's student dormitory, which has a modern vibe. Located near Sapporo Station, the price for a shared room without meals is around 4,000 yen per night. There is also a nice café bar on site. My running buddies booked this accommodation for us the night before the Hokkaido Marathon. It can be a bit intimidating to stay alone in a guest house like this, but it's fine when you're with friends. This time, we stayed in a shared room with bunk beds, with each person's space divided by a curtain. The shower, toilet, and TV are shared facilities. It's like a modern and stylish capsule hotel with no doors. It's a bit uncomfortable to have to be considerate even with things like setting an alarm in such a shared space...(*_*) Anyway, the accommodation cost is reasonable. On the day of our travel, some of my friends were feeling tired, so we had a quick meal at the café bar. As guests, we each received a free drink (beer or soft drink) voucher. Since it was the night before the marathon, we toasted with juice instead of alcohol! The dishes we ordered for the three of us were: - Octopus and mixed herb marinated dish @500 yen - French fries @500 yen - Hokkaido mushroom ajillo @700 yen - Mixed seafood pizza @1,000 yen The marinated dish and fries were tasty but a bit overpriced... The ingredients were nothing particularly impressive. The ajillo had a generous portion and was quite good. Since there were three of us, they gave us 2 extra baguette slices as a service, making it 6 slices in total. I didn't realize Hokkaido was famous for its mushrooms. The oil was good, simple, and delicious. The pizza used dough from Shirokuma Bakery. The surface was crispy and fragrant. It didn't have a chewy texture, but you could taste the wheat flavor. It was more like eating a cheesy pizza bread than a seafood pizza. You don't have to go out of your way to visit this place in Sapporo, but it's convenient for a quick meal if you're staying there. They also offer breakfast with bread and boiled eggs, and it seems they serve lunch as well. Thank you for taking care of us & for the meal!

I visited the cafe & bar inside the recently opened Ten to Ten Sapporo Station guesthouse, which is the second building of Ten to Ten HOKKAIDO Hostel & Kitchen located in Nakajima Park. The renovated former student hall has a stylish and attractive atmosphere. The interior is nice, but since the weather was good and warm, I chose to sit on the lovely terrace with a wooden deck. It's surrounded by the surroundings and you can relax quite comfortably. The specialty drinks are all charming. They offer craft beer from North Island and a unique Rosemary Moscow Mule made with homemade ginger ale! The ginger and spices give it a delicious taste. I also tried their homemade lemonade, which had a strong acidity that was irresistibly delicious. I want to try all the other drinks too. The food is also homemade. They have homemade ham with pickles, and fig butter, which is sliced figs topped with butter and walnuts with a hint of dill. It's a feminine touch. The stylish sausage platter in a skillet is also popular. The pizza with teriyaki chicken, made with dough from Shirokuma Bakery, is chewy. The homemade mayonnaise and teriyaki sauce are a perfect match. The guesthouse area, which used to be a student dormitory, has been transformed into a stylish space with many thoughtful touches. The common areas available only to guests are equipped for a comfortable stay. I would love to stay at such a lovely guesthouse. You can enjoy BBQ on the garden terrace, and I'm also curious about the events held every Sunday. They also serve lunch on weekends, so I definitely want to go back.

On the second day in Sapporo, I stayed at a newly opened guesthouse near Hokkaido University. It used to be a student dormitory, so there were some remnants of that in the rooms. The guesthouse also had a trendy cafe bar in the basement. I decided to try their breakfast, which was not included in the room rate. The place was empty as it was early in the morning and newly opened. The staff seemed to also work at the hotel reception, creating a cozy and homey atmosphere. You could choose your breakfast items and pay at the counter. I ordered a croissant for 200 yen and a mango smoothie for 650 yen. The smoothie had other flavors too and was quite popular. The menu is still being developed according to the staff. The cafe had a stylish and comfortable interior, with a terrace outside that would be nice in good weather. I saw on their Instagram that they also host events, making it a place where guests and non-guests can gather easily.
