I purchased their popular product, 12-month aged Gouda cheese, a semi-hard type. It has a rich flavor and sweetness because it is made with high-quality milk. It was a perfect accompaniment to wine. They have aged cheeses ranging from 6-36 months, and if you like strong flavors, I recommend the 24-36 month ones. If you prefer a fresher taste, go for the 6-12 month ones. The price is around 700-800 yen for 100g. The longer the aging, the higher the price, as it directly affects the quality of the milk used. This cheese has no bitterness or off-flavors, just plenty of savory goodness. The famous Tsurui cheese was too bitter for me. I've tried other well-known brands, but they either had bitterness or lacked flavor, so I didn't go back. The place is only open on Sundays and a bit hard to find, but I keep going back. The owner seems to be very particular about their products and it's fun to chat with her. Also, their homemade aronia cake for 300 yen is incredibly delicious. I always get it with a glass of milk, which is sweet and tasty. The cake set for 500 yen is a great deal. They also have cows, sheep, and pigs around, creating a relaxing farm atmosphere that I enjoy.
