I was able to visit this restaurant hidden in a residential area for the first time. The ordering system was unique, with no prices listed. The owner asked if I wanted meat or fish, and I nervously placed my order. I ordered tuna, octopus head, surf clam, and ramen salad. The ramen salad was delicious, with a homemade sweet sauce that was not overpowering. It was beautifully presented with shiny muscat grapes around the plate. This restaurant is a hidden gem, and I will definitely come back again. Thank you for the meal.

I walked with two like-minded colleagues to a place where you can't go wrong with anything you eat for a second round. It's a warm night in late May, and we walked along Route 36. Along the way, we checked out a hidden gem in Tsukisam, the Third Ginyu-kai Street, also known as the Shon*n Alley. The night breeze feels so nice. We climbed the stairs and entered the place just as the previous group was leaving, so we had the place to ourselves. We drank plenty of beer and ordered a bottle of potato shochu since there were three of us. We told the calm master that this was our second stop and asked him to surprise us. First, we had fresh tuna sashimi and marinated mackerel, followed by octopus head and live turban shell. The salted fish roe at the end went perfectly with the potato shochu. The bill came out to 7,100 yen, which surprised my colleagues. Thank you for the delicious meal, master! Now, my colleagues and I talked about the upcoming Japanese Derby over the weekend. I'm rooting for the favorite, Soul Orient, which means "Rising Sun" in Latin - a fitting name for the Japanese Derby! I'll bet on Soul Orient to win and spread my bets for 2nd and 3rd place with Skillving among the horses ranked 7th or lower. I'll also add extra bets for my colleague's pick, Top Knife. I hope to win this weekend following the Oaks race. [After the Japanese Derby] Soul Orient, the horse I had high hopes for, came in 2nd, so I had a small win. However, the sudden death of Skillving after the race was too tragic. Rest in peace.

Good day everyone! For tonight's solo dinner, let's head to my favorite spot, "Izakaya Matsuri." Sitting at the counter, I asked the chef for recommendations and he suggested the grilled Gindara (Black Cod). I went with that and started off with a beer. The medium fatty tuna sushi was exceptional, and the herring and salmon roe rice sushi brought a festive touch. Oh, they also grilled some king crab for me! The Gindara was thick and juicy, with just the right amount of fat. It was delicious! The chicken wings were also grilled to perfection. They focus on quality ingredients here! Now, let's think about where to go for dessert. With 2 beers and a highball, the total came to 3,500 yen. What a great deal! Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I felt a craving for the dishes at this restaurant and decided to visit for dinner alone. There was a group of three at the counter, already enjoying their drinks. The chef was handling everything alone, so it might take a bit of time when the place is busy. I chose to visit on a less crowded day and time. I ordered the recommended sashimi, which was squid and fresh bluefin tuna, along with a beer. The absence of appetizers was fine with me. The Asahi Super Dry beer was a good choice. The fresh bluefin tuna sashimi was delicious, served with Kikkoman soy sauce. The chef mentioned that they never use frozen ingredients, and it was indeed tasty. Next, I had fresh squid sashimi with wasabi, which had a sharp kick to it. I ordered another beer. For the grilled fish, I chose the silver cod with miso paste and asked for a cold sake. The silver cod was firm and had a perfect saltiness, making it a great pairing with the sake. Even though I wanted to eat more, I decided to finish with ramen. As always, the food was delicious. Thank you, chef!

Good evening, everyone! If you're looking for a place to have dinner alone after 5 pm on a weekday, I recommend "Izakaya Matsuri." The bright interior has a counter right at the entrance, a raised tatami area on the right, and tables on the left. The friendly owner will guide you to your preferred seating. As you look at the menu on the whiteboard behind the counter, the owner will suggest, "Do you want meat or fish? How about some tuna? We have different cuts." If you're open to anything other than fatty fish and salmon sashimi, you can try asking for recommendations. I ended up ordering 3 pieces of tuna and a hot pot. The tuna sashimi was delicious, and the homemade soy sauce with seaweed was a nice touch. The hot pot arrived with plenty of oysters, red snapper, fish cakes, enoki mushrooms, tofu, cabbage, and green onions in a slightly sweet soy sauce-based broth. The amount and quality of seafood in the hot pot were impressive. I also tried the grilled chicken skewers, which were juicy and flavorful. The owner was warm and kind, making it a perfect spot for solo dining. With two beers and a highball, the total came to 3,400 yen, which is a great deal considering the high-quality seafood. I highly recommend visiting during off-peak hours. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I was so satisfied during my first visit that I couldn't resist coming back for more, craving the beef liver with leeks to wash down with beer. I arrived around 5:30 PM, but noticed that the sign wasn't lit up. However, the shutter was open, so I climbed the stairs and opened the sliding door with a rattle. "Good evening," I greeted the chef. There was one other customer at the counter, so I sat on the opposite side near the entrance. I ordered a beer, Asahi Super Dry, which was a delight. Some edamame was served as a snack, even though they didn't offer it last time. The edamame was large and perfectly salted, very delicious. The menu was only on a whiteboard, so I ordered the beef liver with leeks that I loved last time, and left the choice of two sashimi to the chef. The beef liver with leeks arrived soon after, and it was as delicious as ever! Paired with a beer, it was pure bliss. The liver, leeks, and bean sprouts were crunchy and went perfectly with rice, I'll definitely order it again next time. Another beer was ordered. The two sashimi selections included bluefin tuna and fresh sea urchin, both were absolutely delicious! The bluefin tuna was rich and tender, while the sea urchin was fresh and had a nice texture. The quiet conversation with the chef was calming, and the atmosphere was just right. As more customers began to arrive, I asked for the bill and left feeling pleasantly tipsy. The quality of the food, the dishes offered at this price point, it's truly amazing. Considering the chef is running the place alone, the cost must be quite high. I am grateful for the delicious meal and service. Ah, it was so delicious! Thank you for the meal! I'll definitely be back soon.

Actually, I had been interested in this restaurant for over 10 years. It seems like it moved nearby about 2 years ago? Encouraged by the reviews of the experienced reviewer Akasa, I finally decided to visit. I mustered up my courage, climbed the dimly lit stairs, and opened the sliding door at the entrance. I was pleasantly surprised by the very clean and bright interior of the restaurant. There was only one group at a table and some customers at the counter. I asked the sincere owner for a beer. The Asahi Super Dry was delightful. The menu was handwritten on a whiteboard. I let the owner choose 3 dishes for me. There was no appetizer, which I found to be wonderful as it showed consideration for the customers' preferences and what's available. When asked if I could eat liver, I nodded, and the liver stir-fry was served. I took a bite, and it was delicious! Probably the best liver stir-fry I've ever had. It was slightly rare and had no unpleasant smell. The vegetables were crunchy, and I could tell the owner's skill was top-notch. The second dish was grilled silver cod marinated in miso. This definitely called for another beer. The thick and juicy cod had a deep umami flavor that went well with the beer. The third dish was tuna sashimi over rice, which I enjoyed with chilled sake. Without saying anything, the owner asked if I wanted some water, which was a nice gesture. With a bill of 3,100 yen, I left the restaurant fully satisfied. I will definitely come back again. I wish I had come sooner. Since the owner is handling everything alone, it might be a good idea to visit during off-peak hours for a quick drink and leave. The lack of appetizers was also a pleasant surprise. It was a delicious meal. Thank you!

I came here because I heard it was delicious. The restaurant has a counter with 6 seats, a small raised tatami area that can seat about 8 people, and one table for 4 people. There is no menu, just a blackboard with food options. I spotted a bottle of Taketsuru whisky and decided to order it. The bartender mentioned it was 400 yen, but it's a pure malt black label, is that alright? I said yes, please! The sashimi today includes scallops, bluefin tuna, and fatty tuna belly. The scallops were fresh and sweet, and the tuna was delicious. The sashimi platter was luxurious and beautiful. I also had a Shine Muscat grape, which was as big as a tomato and very tasty. I tried to order a whole Pacific saury, but the chef suggested half because it was thick, and it turned out to be the right choice. I was quite full by the end of the meal. The atmosphere was great, as I had the place to myself and chatted with the chef. He has been in this area for 25 years and moved to this new location 2 years ago. The bill came out to 3000 yen. Personally, I would recommend this place to golf enthusiasts. I would love to come back again while they still have Taketsuru whisky available. Thank you for the wonderful meal! No all-you-can-drink option, smoking is allowed.
