Stayed on December 6-7, 2020 for my mother's birthday at a hot spring. How many more times can I show filial piety? I need to take her while I still can move. Despite the ongoing pandemic, we decided to go ahead with the trip, feeling a mix of emotions. We stayed in the largest room with a private outdoor bath in the garden. For meals, we had a socially distanced private dining room for four out of the ten guests. We did everything we could, right? If this doesn't work out, then it's time to stay indoors (laughs). Breakfast was served in the dining area, with proper distancing measures in place. The grilled ayu and mackerel were delicious. The rice was so good that my mother ate three bowls, saying she won't eat tomorrow anyway (laughs). She happily asked for seconds (laughs). I'm glad she enjoyed it. Thank you for taking care of us.

On the third night in Hokkaido, I stayed at Lake Shikotsu for the first time. I made a reservation through Ikyu. As long as there is an open-air bath, that's all I need. My friend said it would be fine here, so I'm looking forward to the food as well. Upon arrival at the inn, I enjoyed some tea while checking in. The dried sweets were delicious and nostalgic. It was a bit inconvenient that the indoor and outdoor baths were separated. However, I was satisfied with the overall quality of the food.
