Yes, as planned ^^; I went to Mishun Shoten for the third time and had their miso ramen. I was a bit torn because the salt ramen was really delicious and I was thinking of getting that, but then I thought, well, I should try the miso ramen first. The miso ramen had bean sprouts in it, which I think is a good addition to miso ramen. I was expecting minced meat in the miso ramen, but it turned out to have regular chashu. The noodles were similar to the ones from "Morizumi." I checked the cart outside ^^w The broth had a slightly sweet taste with a hint of sesame oil flavor, which I really liked. Although the salt ramen was really delicious, the miso ramen was also great. I saw in some other photos that there was a boiled egg on top, but mine didn't have it. Maybe it's a topping of flavored egg? Also, their fried rice is delicious, but I always go for the ramen here. I can't eat too much for lunch, so I prefer ramen. Oh, the miso ramen was so tasty! It might be repetitive with the previous photos, but I also included pictures of the salt and soy sauce ramen for comparison ^^;

Yes, everything went as planned (´▽`). For the second time, I tried the "salt" flavor. When I had soy sauce, I felt a hint of dried fish, but with salt, there was none. It's a pure chicken bone broth. Actually, I'm not a big fan of chicken bone broth... so I left the chicken salt ramen (something like rich, tasty, creamy salt...) behind when I came back home. However, the soup here is light and fragrant, and I don't really detect any unpleasant chicken smell. It's a delicious soup with a nostalgic taste that reminds me of the good old days... I ended up drinking it all after a long time. I didn't check the noodles, but I think they were either Kobayashi or Morizumi brand. Salt was the correct choice ^^♪ I like it. Here, like Tankichi, they also have pork cutlet ramen... and a later customer ordered "pork cutlet ramen curry." (Hmm?) Looking at the menu on the wall... oh, so they have curry for pork cutlet ramen. Of course, it must go well together ^^ I don't eat curry ramen myself, but it piques my curiosity. Now... I'm torn on what to try next because everything looks delicious (≧▽≦)♪

After reading various reviews from different people, I had been thinking that I must try the ramen here. Finally, I had the opportunity to visit. In the past, when it came to Yubari, "Toriyoshi" and "Tankichi" were the go-to places. However, Toriyoshi has closed down, leaving Tankichi and Fukujue (which serves set meals). Tankichi is just okay in my opinion. Fukujue, on the other hand, seems a bit too formal for a lunch spot. I have always been curious about the ramen at Sanharu Shoten. I went there with a colleague. The interior of the restaurant is not very spacious, with just a few counter seats and one table. The atmosphere is quite nice in my opinion. I, of course, chose the soy sauce ramen, while my colleague went for the curry rice and later also tried the half-sized fried rice, which I had been curious about. The place is not crowded, but there are regular customers coming in and out. After ordering from the two ladies, the friendly owner appeared and skillfully prepared our dishes. The curry was a light type, served with miso soup and cabbage salad. The soy sauce ramen had an old-fashioned taste, with a hint of chicken and a subtle bonito flavor. It was delicious, although I couldn't discern all the flavors due to my unsophisticated palate. The chashu had a delicate seasoning that preserved the taste of the meat. The fried rice was also delicious, moist yet fluffy. The seasoning at this ramen shop is indescribable and something that you wouldn't get at home. I would like to try the regular size fried rice next time. I am also curious about the spicy miso that other customers were ordering. But perhaps I'll go for the salt flavor next time. Next time, I will definitely try something else.

Spicy Miso Ramen 980 yen Before I knew it, the menu had expanded to include set meals and rice bowls, and the ramen shop had turned into a dining establishment. Perhaps it's tough to stay in business with just ramen due to the location. The presentation is beautiful with vegetables, green onions, and shredded red pepper stacked three-dimensionally. The soup is not too strong, so the spiciness comes through clearly. It's easy to eat.

"Sanharu Shoten" is located on the main street of the Yufutsu district in Tomakomai City. The parking lot next to the store can fit about 5 or 6 cars, and when I visited, there was space for one car so I parked right away. The interior of the store has a retro Showa-era vibe with lively decorations from the high-growth period. When I entered, I was surprised by the energetic greeting from the owner and staff, "Welcome!" The store has one table and many counter seats, and luckily I was able to find a seat at the counter. I ordered the "Miso Ramen for 850 yen" and the "Half Fried Rice for 400 yen." The ramen noodles were medium-thick and slightly transparent, cooked al dente. The toppings included bean sprouts, onions, bamboo shoots, seaweed, char siu, pink fish cake, round wheat gluten, white leeks, and ground meat at the bottom of the bowl. The soup had a gentle miso flavor with a hint of Japanese-style broth, satisfying and hearty yet light with plenty of vegetables. The half fried rice had soft and fluffy rice with half-cooked eggs, bamboo shoots, char siu, onions, and pickled ginger on the side. The dish had a nice umami flavor and was very enjoyable. Interestingly, the menu only offers half fried rice as the default option, making it easy to order a smaller portion. Overall, it was a delicious meal. Thank you for the food.

Miso Ramen for 850 yen. I remembered that I hadn't been here yet this year, so I visited in a hurry. I had tried all the menu items last time, so I went with the regular miso this time. This ramen has a lot of vegetables, so it has a mild flavor. It's a rich and easy-to-eat ramen.

Today I was focused on work in the Yuubari area. For lunch, I chose a restaurant that I had been overlooking based on reviews on Tabelog. As a reviewer, it is important to use Tabelog to choose a restaurant wisely and also to try new places with a frontier spirit. Inside the restaurant, a young chef with a black T-shirt and black towel wrapped around his arm was cooking. His energetic calls and greetings were pleasant. - Shoyu Ramen: 950 yen - Rice (small): 100 yen The piping hot soup was a traditional clear pork broth, slightly on the thicker side rather than light. The oil and saltiness were gentle, and there was a hint of soy sauce flavor with a touch of Asahikawa style. The noodles were slightly thinner with a good elasticity and smooth texture. It was a type of noodle I had never experienced before, but it matched well with the soup and I enjoyed it. The char siu was moist and tender with plenty of flavor. I didn't feel very thirsty after eating, and the flavor had a decent punch, so overall it was a good tasting ramen.

Salt ramen for 780 yen at this place in Tomakomai Yubetsu. I have tried miso, spicy miso, and soy sauce ramen before, so I chose salt ramen this time. With this, I have experienced all the flavors of ramen here. The soup is a slightly yellowish transparent broth. It comes with one slice of chashu, bean sprouts, naruto, seaweed, bamboo shoots, green onions, and wheat gluten. The saltiness is quite pronounced, with a clear and strong flavor. It might make you a little thirsty. Unfortunately, I couldn't try the fried rice. I ordered a half portion, but was told they didn't have any rice left. I arrived around 12:30. To be told there was no rice at this time, either means they had a lot of rice orders before me, or they didn't prepare enough rice to begin with. Either way, it was quite disappointing to not have rice available at this time.

In April 2021, I visited the Yufutsu area of Tomakomai, which is a slightly unique area despite being part of the long east-west city of Tomakomai. It may have flourished to some extent before the construction of Tomakomai Nishi Port and the Hidaka Expressway. However, with the construction of the large-scale harbor, it has become somewhat like a frontier land across the river. In 1942, the former Oji Paper Company had already started operations at the Yufutsu plant, and at that time, it was on the main route from Tomakomai to Hidaka. The old JR Hidaka Main Line used to pass through the village, with Yufutsu Station located around the current Yufutsu Public Hall. Furthermore, in 1998, the opening of the Hidaka Expressway led to the realignment of National Route 235, which used to pass through the eastern side of the Yufutsu village, completely cutting it off from the main route. With the recent closure of the current Nippon Paper Yufutsu plant in 2020, the area may continue to decline further in the future. On a slightly unrelated note, when it comes to dining in the Yufutsu area, there were only a handful of eateries, including the famous "Toriyoshi" that relocated a few years ago. However, about a year ago, the ramen shop "Miharu Shouten" suddenly opened in Yufutsu. I recently tried their regular shoyu ramen, which features a clear soy sauce broth with slightly high water content and medium-thin curly noodles, likely made by popular Mori Sumi Seimen. The toppings included chashu, menma, chopped green onions, roasted seaweed, fried wheat gluten, and naruto, which are all standard. While the soup was simple and to my liking, I felt that the noodles were slightly off for my taste. I think noodles with lower water content would suit this light soup better, but it might be just right with a miso flavor. The price of 780 yen, including tax, seemed a bit high for this location and content. Personally, I feel it could be about 50 yen cheaper. Although there may be few opportunities to visit this area due to its location, those interested should give it a try.

For my second meal today, I had ramen at Mishun Shouten! I ordered the Miso Ramen for 780 yen and the Half Fried Rice for 400 yen, which were the first items listed on the menu. The restaurant has a retro feel with a stylish interior. The Miso Ramen was filled with plenty of bean sprouts and onions, making it very satisfying and filling. It was delicious! Next time, I will try a different ramen!

Soy sauce ramen with flavored egg for 880 yen (780 yen + 100 yen). When it comes to ramen shops in Yuubari, people often mention "Toriyoshi" but I have never been to the shop that was in Yuubari before it closed down. Since the third generation took over, I have been visiting occasionally. A shop called "Amaoto" opened but unfortunately, it didn't last long. "Tankichi" is still around and it's a shop that I personally like. In 2020, a new shop called "Miharu Shouten" opened in Yuubari. The interior decor gives a nostalgic feel of the Showa era. The staff are friendly and welcoming, making it a pleasant place to dine. I haven't tried the salt ramen yet, but the miso, spicy miso, and soy sauce ramen have all been good so far. The flavors are authentic and appealing to a wide range of customers.

On November 23, 2020 (Monday), which is Labor Thanksgiving Day, a day to work while expressing gratitude every year, I unusually had the day off, which made me happy as it was a public holiday. I visited a new ramen shop in the Yufutsu area located southeast of Tomakomai for the first time. When I entered the shop, I was surprised by the energetic greeting from the man who seemed to be the owner. The atmosphere inside the shop had a slight retro Showa era vibe, which felt nostalgic to me. I ordered a large miso ramen with extra chashu topping. The miso ramen had a sweet flavor, the noodles were chewy, and the chashu was thick and tender, giving it a new yet somehow familiar taste. Maybe the decorations inside the shop contributed to that feeling. Even when leaving the shop, the cheerful greeting was pleasant. It's a place I would like to visit again. Thank you for the delicious miso ramen♪

Spicy miso ramen with rice (small) for 980 yen (880 yen + 100 yen). I skipped the order of the menu and went straight for the spicy miso ramen. It was easy to eat and just the right amount of rich and light. The spiciness was also just right.

At 1pm, there were 3 groups of 8 customers already seated, so it must have been full at lunchtime, right? I sat at counter seat number 3 and ordered the miso ramen. It's amazing that a place opened in April in the town of less than 2,000 people. The energetic young owner shouted "Ramen is ready!" It only took about 10 minutes to be served. The ramen had plenty of crunchy bean sprouts and onions, and the curly noodles from Morizumi Seimen were delicious. There was minced meat in it, but the soup was light. I'm not a fan of the fatty type of chashu, but this one was orthodox and well-balanced. The miso ramen was 780 yen. Thank you for the meal! (^^)v

Miso ramen for 780 yen. The newly opened restaurant has vibrant flowers inside. The retro Showa-era interior is nostalgic, but the chairs are not very comfortable. I wonder why? Let's start with the miso at the top of the menu. It doesn't have a strong personality, but it might appeal to everyone. I hope the restaurant will be in business for a long time.
