For those born in the Showa era, this cafe is nostalgic and calming. The owner, who seems to be the mother, was working alone that day. The service was gentle and peaceful, which was very nice. The regular customers are mostly from the baby boomer generation. I ordered the classic "Napolitan" spaghetti. The noodles were cooked al dente and made with thin noodles. The Napolitan had a generous amount of ketchup, giving it a rich flavor. It's a simple dish with traditional ingredients, but it tasted even better in the atmosphere of the cafe. I also had an iced coffee, which had an American taste. It could have been a bit stronger, but overall, the meal menu is relatively extensive and reasonably priced. Spending a leisurely day at a place like this cafe might be a good idea for a holiday.

Visit date: April 16, 2022 On this day, I visited Kozakusan with a friend. We arrived around 9:45 a.m. There was one customer before us and no customers after us. We ordered the morning set, which cost 570 yen and was served in about 25 minutes. The morning set included coffee, toast, and ham and eggs. The coffee had a mild bitterness, making it easy to drink even for my friend who doesn't like coffee much. The toast was thick and fluffy with a hint of butter. The ham and eggs turned out to be a plate with a fried egg, bacon, and potato salad instead. The yolk of the fried egg was just the right consistency, holding its shape even when picked up with chopsticks. My friend, who dislikes runny yolks, praised the firmness of the yolk. When we visited, there was a slightly older lady managing the place alone. Ashtrays were placed on the tables, indicating that smoking was allowed. My friend always wants to go to places that offer morning sets, so they were very satisfied that we finally got to visit this place. Thank you for the meal.

Well, things didn't go as planned at all. Several shops were closed. I'm alone in Kushiro. I drank in Bihoro last night. I woke up early this morning, so I left Bihoro early and eagerly visited various places until the ramen shop opened, but oh no, it was a parade of closed shops, not going as planned. I tried five places in Washo Market to break even, so now it's time for coffee. The navigation said "you have arrived!" and I was like, huh? It's a bit hidden and hard to see the shop. There are lights on inside, but no indication outside if they are open or not. I decided to go in and luckily it was open. It's a one-woman show run by an elderly lady. At this point, my expectations were already low. It's fine, as long as I get something like coffee. Even looking at the menu didn't raise my expectations. There's no straight coffee available. In times like this, I'll go for iced coffee. Well, it can't be helped. It was just like coffee, after all. Less than two minutes have passed since I started drinking, and even though it's iced coffee, the acidity hits me. And it's weak. I'm glad I didn't get it hot. Iced coffee should be stronger than hot coffee. I look outside and see a man carrying something on a tray and entering the shop. Oh, they do deliveries too. Does this satisfy my coffee craving? Not really. Well, time to go eat ramen. There wasn't much interaction, but the couple running the place seemed nice. I don't know why it's called "Cossack," but it didn't give off a cold vibe.
