I had miso chashu ramen! The miso ramen was priced at a friendly 750 yen. The miso flavor was very gentle, and the red pickled ginger matched well with this gentle miso flavor. It was so easy to eat that I wanted to have another bowl. I would like to go back and eat there again when I visit Shiraoi.

Despite the approaching typhoon, I went back to my hometown of Noboribetsu alone for some business. The ramen shop I originally planned to go to was full, and so was my second choice. I was feeling unlucky as I drove around, but then I remembered about Akebono. When I entered, there were already 5 customers. I sat at the counter and decided to order curry ramen this time since I had tried the salt ramen before. The curry ramen was served in about 15 minutes, and I noticed that there was red pickled ginger on top. It was a first for me to see red pickled ginger on curry ramen, but it wasn't overwhelming, more like a nice touch. The curry wasn't too spicy and didn't stick too much to the noodles, making it easy to eat. It was a pleasant meal. Thank you!

Yesterday, my younger brother drove us to do some shopping at the Oritate Hamayu fish market. Afterwards, since we had never been there before, we visited Akebono Ramen shop. My brother had the miso ramen as advertised, while I had the salt ramen. The salt ramen was traditional and a bit on the artificial flavor side, but it was a solid bowl of salt ramen and very tasty. I tried a bite of my brother's miso ramen, and it seemed a bit sweet, possibly because my taste buds were still recovering from the salt ramen, but it had a good amount of ground meat in it and tasted like authentic miso ramen. It was delicious. We often go shopping at the fish market, so we will definitely visit the ramen shop again. Thank you for the meal! (^o^)/

Tigerjo-hama area in Shiraoi-cho, along Route 36, there is a ramen shop with a very spacious parking space in front of the building. There is a large sign for "Sapporo Miso Ramen" along the national highway, which caught my attention for a while, so I visited for lunch on my way back from a business trip to Muroran. I knew about the existence of the shop beforehand, but I only learned the name "Akebono" by searching on Tabelog this time. Inside the shop, there are counter seats, small table seats, and raised table seats, but it is not very spacious. It has an atmosphere of an old-fashioned ramen shop, and many local regular customers, mostly older men, were there. Water is self-service. There is no menu on the table, so you order by looking at the menu posted on the wall. I ordered the shop's recommended "Miso Ramen (750 yen)" for starters. It was ready in about 8 minutes. A slightly unique miso ramen with red pickled ginger on top. The soup is of a type commonly found in dining halls from the Showa era, with a slightly light taste, but it brought a sense of nostalgia to me in my middle age. I felt that the boiling of the medium-thin noodles was a bit too soft for me, but I still think it's a delicious ramen. I'm also curious about the "Old-fashioned" and "Miso Curry", so I'll try them if I have the chance.

I had the chance to go to the Hazama area and visited a ramen restaurant along the national highway that I had been curious about. My colleague recommended the place and said, "I think the curry ramen here is delicious," but I chose the miso ramen. My friend looked disappointed. I tried a sip of the curry ramen soup that my friend recommended, and I understood why - the curry spice flavor was just right. My miso ramen was also delicious, and I finished it in no time. If I had one request, it would be that the pickled ginger topping on the noodles didn't seem to go well with it.

The ramen here is unique and delicious, with a subtle flavor and a relaxed atmosphere. While some may not appreciate it, I quite enjoyed it. It may not be recommended for those seeking a traditional Hokkaido experience, but if you want to try something different, this place is worth a visit. The location is convenient, with ample parking. I ordered the curry ramen with extra chashu, which was visually appealing and served in a vintage-style bowl. The soup had a curry flavor with a hint of miso, and the chashu was tender and flavorful. The strong aroma of green onions added to the experience. The noodles were the standard yellow curly type found in Hokkaido. Overall, I enjoyed the meal and would recommend it as a great option for a casual dining experience in the area.

A ramen shop in Shiraoi Town that has been around for a long time. The large signboard is impressive. The reason I hadn't visited until now is simply because the restaurant had low ratings on Tabelog. I think it's a valid choice to use Tabelog to avoid making a mistake with a precious meal. So why did I visit this time? Well, the soba shop I was aiming for had a full parking lot. Therefore, I had no choice but to visit this ramen shop. Upon entering, there was a message saying "Chinese tour groups, please refrain..." which made me hesitate for a moment, but considering the current situation with the new virus, I think it was an unavoidable choice. Miso Ramen for 750 yen. The steam rising up was impressive, and the piping hot serving was good. The soup was a traditional light miso flavor based on pork bone. The noodles were surprisingly low hydration and slightly thin. The texture was good, not too soft. The saltiness was just right, not too strong or weak, and the miso flavor was a bit light, but it added to the unique taste of this type of ramen. However, the broth was a bit lacking in depth. If they enhanced the sweetness of the kombu and vegetable broth, the balance would be better. Of course, this would require serving it piping hot. The pickled ginger topping was unbalanced. Some people might not like it, but when it floats in the soup, it interferes with the flavor as the soup turns slightly red. If pickled ginger is a specialty of the shop, it might be better to serve it in a separate dish. It seems like they have upgraded during the change in ownership. The ramen itself tasted better than the ratings. Perhaps it's a nostalgic taste for locals who have been eating it since childhood. The shop is most likely run by a couple in their late 40s and a woman in her 70s, possibly the second generation. At one point, a high school boy, most likely their grandson, appeared and offered to help with dishwashing. His presence was heartwarming and homey. Surprisingly, the menu also includes soba. The shop seems to have been newly built, possibly in preparation for the opening of the multicultural space "Upopoy." With the inbound traffic increasing from spring onwards, the banner outside the shop is a crucial aspect that needs improvement. It is the face of the shop and should be displayed at a more visible height.

The other day, when I came to the Nukumori no Yu hot spring hotel in Torasajihama, I noticed that it had been newly relocated. When I asked the owner today, he said it was on July 4th last year. I visited after a long time, and I don't think the taste of the miso ramen has changed. You don't have to eat the pickled ginger if you don't like it! The soup is a bit light? Gentle? Old-fashioned? Low in salt? ... But I guess that's okay. The chashu is delicious and just to my liking. It was full of customers! If more Asians come, it will become a popular spot! Thank you for the miso ramen!

Even during the day, the Sapporo miso ramen sign stands out when passing by here. At night, the sign is lit up. The name of the shop seems to be Akebono, but you wouldn't know unless you get closer. It's a ramen shop to have before going to Ayoro Onsen. The owner seemed younger than expected. My husband chose the miso ramen, while I went for the old-fashioned ramen. Everyone's idea of an old-fashioned taste may differ, but if it has chashu, boiled egg, menma, naruto, fu, and nori, it should be satisfying. This place had all of those. The broth was a bit oily and stayed hot until the end, which I liked. The chashu was bigger compared to the past, where it used to be just a small piece. It feels like getting a bonus when you get a big chashu, which might be why it's so pleasing. We enjoy hot and soupy ramen with a generous amount of soup.

Shira-oi-cho and Kojohama. A diner along the national highway with a big sign for "Sapporo miso ramen". The menu offers a variety of ramen dishes. I ordered the soy sauce ramen for 700 yen. Surprisingly, there was no steam coming out of the ramen. The soup had a thick layer of oil on top. When I tried to drink the soup underneath the oil layer, it was so hot that I burned my mouth. The soy sauce tonkotsu soup was strong in flavor, and the noodles were firm. However, because the soup was so hot, I couldn't really enjoy the dish. I ended up not being able to finish it. Thank you for the meal.

In the town of Shiraoi, Shiraoi District, Hokkaido, there is a restaurant with a big red sign that says "Sapporo Miso Ramen" along the national highway. The name of the restaurant is "Akebono Shokudo". Despite the large building, the inside is surprisingly small, giving off a historical vibe. As for the ramen, it comes with pickled ginger on top, which adds an unexpected touch. However, the combination doesn't quite work well together. The soup is surprisingly light and doesn't have a strong miso flavor. It might appeal to those who prefer lighter flavors. Overall, the restaurant raises many questions.

《April 2012 Update》After a gap of four and a half years, I finally revisited this place. The impact of the previous "miso ramen" was so strong that it took me four years to recover from the shock (laughs). This time, I ordered the "shoyu ramen," and although it didn't have pickled ginger like the miso ramen, the soup was light...or rather, lacked richness. The noodles were also lacking in volume and quite soft, and the toppings were mediocre. Following the disappointment with the miso ramen, there were no redeeming qualities for me in this one. Reading other reviews, it seems that this place is more of an izakaya in the evenings, so I wonder if they have regulars for their ramen during the day? Needless to say, it might take me another three years to recover from this shock (laughs). 《October 2007 First Visit》Located in Shiraoi town, near Togashihama on National Route 36, this ramen shop stands out with a big red sign that boldly advertises "Sapporo miso ramen." Naturally, I assumed their specialty would be miso ramen and ordered it without hesitation...but when the miso ramen arrived, I was shocked! Can you believe they topped the ramen with pickled ginger??? Isn't this more like "Hakata tonkotsu ramen"? Despite my surprise, I tried their self-proclaimed "Sapporo miso ramen" and was once again surprised! It was incredibly light, lacking in richness (tears). On top of that, the toppings were scarce, the noodles were lacking in volume, and while I wouldn't say it was bad, it was definitely not to my taste.

I have been coming here regularly after bathing in the hot springs of Toraizumi Beach for the past 20 years. I always find my way here by following Route 36 with the big "Sapporo Ramen" sign as a landmark. Today, after visiting Ayoro Onsen, I had miso ramen here. The customers were families and office workers. I come to Akebono Shokudo once or twice a year, and I have only tried the miso ramen (700 yen) here. I found out about it through word of mouth. The soup here has a unique umami flavor. It feels like pork bones with a hint of seafood. The miso flavor is subtle, enhancing the deliciousness of the broth. In addition to the chashu, the minced meat in the soup is exquisite. The noodles are thin and a bit soft, so I recommend ordering them firm. I never expected to find such skilled ramen in a place like this! *\(^o^)/*
