Cute... What are these three lined up lotus roots... It tickles my heart that was starting to forget about being a woman. The owner of this place not only serves delicious food, but also entertains me visually... I was struck by the first appetizer I had (^◇^;) [Appetizers] Green lotus root - Sweet simmered saury → Soft and can be eaten whole with bones, not dry at all, with a gentle flavor. Blue lotus root - Marinated gizzard → The crunchy texture of gizzard is nice. Orange lotus root - Cod liver simmered → Surprisingly good! The thick and sweet flavor that sticks to the tongue is addictive. [Sashimi] Squid, saury, locally produced black rockfish from Tomakomai → Squid has a nice crunchy texture and transparency. Fresh saury sashimi is said to be inedible if not fresh, but there was no fishy smell and it was delicious! I actually used to dislike raw saury because I had a bad experience in the past, but this was completely different! [Hot Pot] Beef tripe hot pot → Delicious chewy tripe full of collagen! Personally, I might prefer a slightly stronger seasoning. [Others] Squid innards miso → A bit different from salted squid innards. It's like sweet miso-flavored salted squid... it's hard to describe, it might be a taste you can only experience here. [Grilled Dish] Ray's western-style miso grilled shark → Oh, I see! Hmmmm! Western-style miso is delicious, but hmm, it's a bit of a waste... It might be my fixed idea, but I prefer to have western-style miso with fatty fish. I'd like to have shark grilled in a different way. [Simmered Dish] Cod and turnip simmered dish → It's nice to have a simmered dish in the cold season ♫ I don't dislike the gentle seasoning that makes me feel warm and cozy. [Today's MVP] Tachipon → Creamy tachipon with a yuzu-flavored ponzu sauce! The tachipon on this day was really bouncy and creamy! Not just bouncy, but very bouncy! I had no idea there was such a delicious restaurant in Tomakomai! It's a popular YouTuber called Hokkaido Fishing Channel who is the owner of this course meal restaurant. The Yuzen course using seasonal Hokkaido ingredients carefully selected by the owner was all delicious♡ The tempura made from naturally caught smelt by the owner was also amazing♡ Both the owner and his wife are friendly, and you can have a great time there. First visit and already a favorite, so I had to come back right away. The firm attitude of the owner and the young chefs is great. - Braised pork belly and rice in a pot 1,300 yen Wow, the tender braised pork has a gentle flavor, and the dynamic cuts and generous portion are pleasing. The perfectly cooked rice in the pot complements the pork well, making it easy to eat. Oh, the crispy bits in the middle are pleasantly fragrant and delicious. The side dishes, crafted with Japanese culinary skills, show subtle expertise and creativity. Lastly, pouring the hot golden broth over the rice for a blissful ochazuke. Satisfied and full! Thank you for the meal.

Accompanied my wife on her day off to visit a restaurant. The weather was perfect for a sunny day! We ordered chicken and burdock rice and scallops. They brought us the wrong order of braised pork, but we were hungry so we just went with it. My wife said, "Since it's already here, I'll have the braised pork!" We shared a bowl of rice, and both dishes were delicious. The soup and side dishes were also good! But hey, this place isn't known for their rice dishes. I hope they can start evening business soon and liven things up! Rice Lunch: Chicken and Burdock 1100 yen / Braised Pork 1300 yen. Thank you for the meal!

This is a small Japanese izakaya located in a small entertainment district in the western area of Tomakomai City, in the Kamiki-cho neighborhood. The young owner, who trained in Honshu and other regions, runs the restaurant, and during lunchtime, they focus on serving several types of "kamameshi" dishes. The restaurant has ample parking space next to it, making it easily accessible by car. While the restaurant exudes the atmosphere of a traditional Japanese pub, it is well-maintained and clean, giving off a dignified aura. In my experience, you can't go wrong with a place like this. The "Chicken and Burdock Root Kamameshi" is priced at 1,100 yen (tax included) and is served in about 25 minutes. The kamameshi, filled with plenty of ingredients, has a simple yet delicious taste with the flavors of chicken and burdock root blending well together. The side dishes are not neglected, with the vinegar miso-dressed princess bamboo that the owner picked from the mountains being well-balanced and flavorful, the pickled mustard greens providing a nice salty accent, and the salmon broth soup having a harmonious balance of fat and umami. While kamameshi may seem like a simple dish, you can truly appreciate the skills of a Japanese cuisine chef in the overall taste, and the balance of flavors in the meal set is excellent. Enjoying the crispy rice crust and then changing the flavor with the dashi served in a teapot at the end to create a tea-flavored rice dish is a delightful experience. The dashi has a subtle yet assertive flavor, showcasing the owner's expertise, and it pairs perfectly with the kamameshi. The portion size is generous, leaving you completely satisfied. The owner, looking sharp in their white chef's coat, displays the demeanor of a Japanese cuisine chef, with occasional strict gazes towards their apprentice, but within an acceptable range. On the other hand, their attentiveness and consideration towards the customers are superb and I found it very endearing. A truly satisfying lunchtime experience. I believe this place will become quite popular once more people discover it, but at the same time, I hope it doesn't become too crowded that it becomes difficult to visit. I am glad to have found such a great restaurant.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, due to the state of emergency, the restaurant is only open for lunch on weekdays. I went for lunch with my friend again. ・Braised pork belly and rice bowl ¥1,300 The pot is a bit big, so the amount of rice is generous! For women, a smaller portion of rice might be better? There are quite a few pieces of braised pork belly as well! It's a lunch that will definitely leave you full. In addition, it comes with small side dishes, pickles, and soup. The taste is of course delicious, and the chef's sense of Japanese cuisine shines through! Restaurants everywhere are taking a big hit from COVID. I hope the situation improves soon!

I had a meal before inhaling hydrogen. I went to eat lunch with rice cooked in the same pot as TOM775. It was a stylish little restaurant... Even if my companion is an old man, my excitement goes up, haha. I ordered plum and dried fish rice with less rice, and T ordered braised pork and mixed it with a spoon, the burnt part was delicious. We finished by pouring dashi broth over it, it was delicious. Of course, the pot rice was great, and the soybean soup was amazing! The performance at this restaurant is at night, right? Corona... annoying, isn't it? Plum and dried fish pot rice for 1100 yen. Thank you for the meal! (^^)v

Started in November, I visited Yuzen for lunch and it was fantastic! I parked my car at the back of the shop on the mountain side. There were two customers before me, and I ordered the salmon and salmon roe rice pot. It was ready in about 20 minutes! When I lifted the lid, the steam rose and my excitement grew! The salmon roe was incredibly fresh and delicious! The salmon was also tender and tasty. The clam miso soup, side dishes, and pickles were all great! I poured some dashi over the remaining rice and topped it with sesame seeds and seaweed to make a delicious ochazuke. The chef's cooking skills were top-notch, and the service was friendly and pleasant. I can see why this place is popular! The salmon and salmon roe rice pot cost 1200 yen. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

<<Izakaya Series (lol)>> "Creative Dining" In the bustling city of Sapporo, you often see this sign, but in a rural city like this, creative dining in places like this is often a flop (lol) (...that evil assumption is later shattered (lol)) But since I started the Izakaya Series, I decided to give it a try! Upon arrival, I noticed many regulars or friends having a great time. Luckily, there was one table available. As usual, I ordered a draft beer and oolong tea and looked at the menu. Hmm, it's a bit pricey! Maybe I should go for the 3,000 yen course that can be ordered on the day? But wait, since it's my first visit, maybe I should order a few dishes first to try them out (lol) A dilemma and dilemma (lol) While in this dilemma, a complimentary dish arrived. Wow! Amazing! The presentation and the taste are excellent. Tomato, small fish, and something unknown. The fish is a bit unclear, but the taste is outstanding. The owner seems young but definitely not ordinary! He must have trained somewhere. I then ordered the following: - Grilled Silver Halibut with Saikyo Miso (750 yen) - This is so delicious! Delicate seasoning! - Kinpira Gobo (400 yen) - When you hear kinpira gobo, you think of the shredded burdock and carrot dish often made at home. But this is completely different! The taste is elegant! The original flavor of the burdock is amazing! And there's no bitterness or unpleasant taste at all! The preparation and seasoning are fantastic! - Cream Cheese with Bonito Flakes and Soy Sauce (450 yen) - Cream cheese with soy sauce is a first for me. Surprisingly, it's quite good (lol) I could feel the owner's dedication and energy poured into each dish, truly moving. This is definitely a top-notch find on my izakaya tour!
