Long and winding, during a BM, at the bottom of my saved list on my page, there was a place in Susukino called "SOUP CURRY & HAMBURG Ryoki" that was sedimented like trash. Due to insufficient information gathering, is it a transfer from around North 34th Street? As of February 7, 2023, with a Tabelog rating of "3.47" and 122 reviews, this popular restaurant used to be open for lunch as well, but now it is open from "20:00 to the next 5:00." In the midst of the snow falling steadily, it is located on the second floor of a building facing north along R36, heading west from Susukino Station on the subway, and up an external staircase. The interior of the restaurant has a casual bar-like atmosphere with dim lighting and only one group of two customers. The main reason I couldn't visit for several years was the opening time of "20:00." Although I often drink here and there, it is rare for me to drink in the evenings in Susukino, and I am hungry enough to have curry as a finishing touch. It is quite difficult as a condition in itself. This time, I planned to finish here after having a few drinks at an izakaya. I ordered "Chicken Vegetable (5 Spicy, Medium Rice) @1,400" and "Vegetable (2 Spicy, Small Rice) @1,200." The soup was both "Original (Chili Tomato)" and the drinks were "Budweiser @800" and "Sapporo Classic (Medium Bottle) @750." The beer was promptly brought out, served in bottles as there is no draft beer available...chilled and delicious. After about 10 minutes, the soup curry arrived. The "Chicken Vegetable" dish included ingredients such as chicken, baby corn, broccoli, bell peppers, carrots, potatoes, green beans, cabbage, asparagus, and eggplant. The base of the soup is made from chicken, pork, and aromatic vegetables, with a well-balanced tomato acidity that blends in nicely, and I particularly like that it doesn't have an odd sweetness. The "5 Spicy" level is free of charge, and although it is the spiciest, it felt a bit lacking. The variety of vegetables seemed to be simmered in the soup rather than just being fried and placed on top, giving the impression that they were cooked just right without becoming mushy. The rice was of good quality, "Nanatsuboshi," cooked to a firm texture that goes well with the curry. There are some areas of dissatisfaction, but overall, it was a well-made soup curry that made me think, "I want to eat this again." I wonder if they no longer have lunch service. Thank you for the meal. * This is a smoking-permitted establishment where entry is prohibited for those under 20 years old.
