After finishing work around 7:30 pm, I decided to stop by the Hongo-dori shopping street on my way home to visit Super Outlaw, a restaurant I pass by around 5:30 pm. From the street, I could catch a glimpse of the interior of the restaurant, with a kitchen visible behind the counter. I always see a woman preparing food there. I thought I should go in and try it sometime! The time has come, let's go for it! As I entered, I was greeted by one woman and two men... darn! My wife and I entered the shop... darn! We were shown to a semi-private table, but no, I prefer sitting at the counter. Luckily, there were 8 empty seats available. I ordered the all-you-can-drink option for 90 minutes for 1500 yen because I can't relax and enjoy drinking without it. The frozen black draft beer arrived, along with a macaroni salad. The beer was delicious, and it had been a while since I had Sapporo Black Label draft beer. This izakaya really knows how to serve beer at its best. The macaroni salad was disappointing, but the enoki mushroom yukhoe for 390 yen was a good deal. Each izakaya on the Hongo-dori street has its own unique flavor of enoki mushroom yukhoe. While waiting for the Daruma motsu nabe for 1380 yen to cook, I tried the assorted deep-fried skewers for 600 yen. The skewers included squid, lotus root, pork and onion, potato, eggplant stuffed with meat, and white fish with shiso. They were all bite-sized and easy to eat, with a crispy texture. The skewers were a bit too crispy, and I noticed that they seemed to reuse the bamboo skewers quite a bit. I might have set my expectations too high due to the delicious black draft beer. The Daruma motsu nabe was finally ready, although I wish they had covered it to cook faster. The soy sauce-based soup had the rich flavor of the motsu. The sweetness of the leeks and cabbage also added to the dish. The garlic provided a nice kick, and the motsu itself was flavorful without any unpleasant odor. The silky tofu soaked up the delicious broth. It had been a while since I had such a satisfying motsu nabe! Despite a busy day, the final izakaya meal left me feeling refreshed and ready for the next day. Thank you. Goodnight!

I love motsu skewers and decided to go to this restaurant because they had a first drink free coupon. It was Sunday evening at 6 o'clock and there were no other customers. I sat at a table, and even though the seating area was a bit narrow, it didn't bother me much. The table was for 4 people and the cushions were fixed, so at first, I felt a bit uncomfortable with my bottom stuck in between the cushions, but I realized I could just move to the right or left to solve the issue. However, it would have been better if the cushions were movable. Since it wasn't crowded, our order arrived quickly. The service from the staff that day was excellent. The atmosphere in the restaurant was nice, with a TV playing cartoons like "Chibi Maruko-chan" and "Sazae-san" in the background. It was cozy and suitable for families with children. However, I couldn't find a children's menu, and all seats had ashtrays, which was a bit unexpected. As for drinks, I only had draft beer that day, and it was served in a chilled mug with creamy foam, tasting incredibly delicious. The price was 390 yen. They also had sour drinks like grapefruit flavor for the same price. I didn't try them, so I can't comment on the taste. We ordered 7 different dishes, including motsu skewers. Although the portions seemed small at first, the taste was quite good. Personally, I loved the vinegar motsu the most as it was light and collagen-rich. The motsu skewers were randomly composed of various parts like gizzards, chicken skin, heart, etc. I was worried about not getting gizzards because I love them, but I got lucky with 2 out of 4 skewers having gizzards. The saltiness varied slightly, but overall, it was delicious. The changja (kimchi) was tasty, especially when eaten with the cabbage served with the motsu stew. They also served delicious kimchi. Despite the presence of ashtrays on all tables and no designated smoking area, the cozy atmosphere and excellent service make this restaurant worth revisiting.

Just the other day, I visited this place after a long time. The friendly lady who always remembers me and greets me warmly is here again! It's been two years since my first visit... I love the cozy atmosphere of this hidden gem of a restaurant. Here are my recommended dishes: - Cheese Tempura (around 400 yen): I always order this when I come here (laughs). It seems like they remember. Crispy spring roll skin with melty cheese inside, served with ketchup. The perfect balance of saltiness, it's delicious. - Beef Tripe Yukhoe (around 400 yen): A unique dish but also delicious! I always order rice with this. It's so tasty that I crave more rice. - Vinegar Beef Tripe (around 300 yen): My partner loves this and always orders it. It's crunchy and refreshing. - Beer (around 1500 yen for all-you-can-drink): The glass is so cold! The beer poured into it is super chilled and delicious. The foam is slightly frozen, which makes it even more enjoyable. My only request is to add more items to the menu, like cheese dishes... (I want more tripe!! That's the feeling, right? (laughs)) Maybe some cheesy potatoes. I used to live very close by, so I would come here at least once a month, but I moved away recently and haven't been able to visit. My partner is begging to come back, so we will definitely visit soon! (laughs) Highly recommended!

This is a slightly retro izakaya located in the Hongo-dori shopping street. In addition to the classic "motsunabe" hot pot, they also offer a variety of skewers, side dishes, and grilled dishes. It's an izakaya where women can feel comfortable going alone. My recommended menu item is the "motsu skewers." The crunchy texture goes perfectly with alcohol and is so delicious! It's addictive. The motsu stew is also amazing. It's great for when you want a hearty meal. The prices for alcoholic drinks are reasonable and they even offer all-you-can-drink options, making it a great choice for drinking parties.
