Jolly Pasta, a takeout-only pasta shop, followed me on Instagram, even though I don't have many followers. I guess it means "come buy from us", so I read it on Thursday. It's my turn to choose where to eat on Friday, so I suggested going to Soramame. My friend said, "Oh, sure, Jolly Pasta just opened, so why not?" What a coincidence! Can you believe they also do pasta? But then I thought, "It's going to be crowded." My friend agreed, "It's going to be really busy." When they went around 4 pm, the place was already 60% full and the phone was ringing off the hook. Are they confirming the opening or taking takeout orders? There were many students and office workers. Students make sense, but office workers? Why? "Lunchtime was definitely impossible," they said. They ordered the "Mentaiko Ikura Carbonara" and "Colorful Vegetable Garlic Saute." It looked really delicious. They were even given a flower from the entrance. The garlic in the saute made it spicy, the bacon did a good job, the broccoli was tasty, and the bacon and cheese were just right. The pasta didn't have a core but was not falling apart. The ikura and mentaiko added flavor. Surprisingly, the sauce didn't stand out much. It's not very rich for a carbonara, my friend said, "Are you sure this is carbonara? It's not very creamy." Well, the shop just opened yesterday, so it might get better, right? My wife said, "Are you sure this is carbonara? It's not very rich." Well, since the recipe is the same, maybe it will improve. Right?
