It was a ramen shop specializing in miso. The Hokkaido miso vegetable ramen I ordered was filled with vegetables and had thick curly noodles. It was satisfying and delicious. However, it was disappointing that the chashu was not included and had to be ordered separately. Thank you for the meal!

Long time no visit. Looking back at my records, it seems like it has been five years since my last visit. I always enjoy ordering the Kyushu barley miso ramen. Compared to other miso flavors, it is not as salty and has a nice sweetness, creating a complex taste. This time, I had the Kyushu barley miso ramen with pork and green onions as toppings. The pork and green onions were seasoned with spicy miso, which added a delicious kick to the dish! The miso soup blended well with the ramen, creating a rich flavor. The portion was generous, and ordering a half portion was a good choice. I left feeling full. Next time I come, I think I will try some of the other miso flavors for a change.

Visit on June 8, 2023! Shinshu miso ramen for 770 yen, seared chashu for 150 yen, and small rice for 100 yen. It's been about 7 years since my last visit. I noticed that the seared chashu seemed to have less burnt marks compared to before. The Shinshu miso broth tasted sweeter than I remembered. The ramen was served just 2-3 minutes after ordering, which felt unusually fast, but the soup was slightly lukewarm.

I visited "#Menba Tadokoro Shoten," located in Sapporo Hiragishi, known for its aged miso. I ordered the Hokkaido miso "Vegetable Ramen" out of the three miso options. The rich miso soup paired well with the medium-thick noodles. The vegetables such as potatoes, cabbage, carrots, bean sprouts were plentiful and tasted great with the miso. Overall, it was delicious!

I had Hokkaido miso negi niku ramen. It was like Hokkaido miso ramen with green onions and pork. The exterior of the building gives off a miso barrel vibe which is appealing. It felt like miso soup with noodles, definitely emphasizing the miso flavor. I wish it had a bit more depth of flavor though. Hokkaido is huge, isn't it? Each city in the prefecture has its own unique ramen culture, so I don't really agree with lumping them all together.

"I had the 'Hokkaido Miso Vegetable Ramen (with seared chashu)' today. Maybe it was because I saw the 'Goddess of the Queue,' but I suddenly felt like eating ramen haha. It's a miso ramen which I don't usually eat!! The sweet and rich miso flavor with fried potatoes. You can only have it at Tadokoro Shoten. Delicious ♫ However, the soup was quite hot. Unfortunately orz"

I tried a Kyushu barley miso ramen at a specialty shop for miso ramen. Instead of chashu, it came with satsuma-age as a topping. It was delicious. It also had minced meat, so it was satisfying. The noodles were flat and chewy, and I enjoyed it.

I had passed by this shop many times, checking the parking lot's congestion, but decided to enter when I saw it had just opened around 11 o'clock. It was my first time at Tanjo Shoten, a miso ramen specialty shop. I didn't know much about it, so I ordered the "Sapporo Miso" ramen and some gyoza. The ramen had a slightly strong soup, with thick and chewy noodles and fried potatoes on top. If I have the chance to come back, I'll try the regular one next time.

"Sapporo Miso Ramen Specialty Shop Series - Part 3. This is the final installment of exploring and tasting specialty Sapporo miso ramen shops other than the six shops previously visited (Ookami Soup, Keyaki, Sapporo Enjin, Men Dokyu, Miso Ramen Yamaokaya, Yoshino Miso Ramen). This time, the visit is to "Tadokoro Shoten". The shop is located in Toyohira-ku, Sapporo, at Higashi 5-jo 10-chome, along the outer ring road. The exterior of the shop is eye-catching with ample parking space in front. I visited around 4:30 pm, and they offer continuous service which was convenient. Although it is a miso ramen specialty shop, the miso ramen is divided into three categories based on regions: 1) Hokkaido Miso (red-colored rich miso), 2) Shinshu Miso (light-colored slightly rich miso), 3) Kyushu Miso (light-colored sweet miso). I ordered the classic "Hokkaido Miso Ramen" for 836 yen. The shop is part of the chain operated by "Try International Co., Ltd." based in Chiba Prefecture, which has branches worldwide. They opened their Sapporo branch in 2014. The ramen was served in about 5 minutes, with fried onions and potatoes as distinctive visuals. The bowl was a thick high-sided bowl. The soup was a bit salty with a hint of spiciness from the red miso, lacking richness. The noodles were medium-thick curly noodles, chewy but didn't blend well with the soup. The toppings included stir-fried bean sprouts, ground meat, fried onions, and potato slices instead of chashu. The fried onions were interesting. I finished the ramen and soup completely. The taste was as expected from a chain shop, with a strong acidity and saltiness that made me crave water. It may not have been to my liking, but taste preferences vary. The service from the staff was excellent. With this visit, I have completed tasting all 9 specialty miso ramen shops in Sapporo. Miso ramen has a depth of variety from individual shops to chain stores. Each shop has its unique characteristics and pursuit of flavor. Miso ramen is indeed delicious, with each shop showcasing its own pride in their miso. Overall, miso ramen is a flavorful experience that highlights the diversity and creativity within the dish. Bon appétit! (Visited on October 13, 2022, Total 768th bowl of ramen in 2022, posted on June 15, 2023)"

A ramen specialty shop located facing the circular line. I have passed by here many times before, but today I was able to stop by at the right time. The parking lot is spacious and convenient to use... ♬ They only serve miso ramen here. There are three main types: Shinshu miso, Kyushu barley miso, and Hokkaido miso. Today, I decided to try the Shinshu miso ramen. First, I took a sip of the soup. It is indeed a bit on the rich side as mentioned on the menu. However, I don't feel the roundness of miso flavor. The noodles are medium-thick with a firm texture. The vegetables in the bowl, like bamboo shoots and bracken, are ingredients that you don't usually see in ramen. I added plenty of Korean chili paste and shichimi pepper on the table for some flavor variation. Looking at their website, it says they opened in 2014, but even though I have passed by the front of the shop countless times over the past 8 years, I never came in. Hmm, after experiencing it today, maybe I don't need to come back for another 8 years ( ´ㅈ` )♩︎

I entered the restaurant at 10:30. The exterior of the shop is very unique and eye-catching. They accept PAYPAY for electronic payments. Instead of vending machines, the staff handle the payments. The menu is diverse and after some deliberation, I ordered the Hokkaido miso-seared chashu ramen for 1,243 yen (including tax), as listed on their website. The ramen arrived with 3 seared chashu slices, bean sprouts, crispy fried onions, 2 pieces of potatoes, and fresh chives. The noodles are short and chewy, perfect for picking up the soup. The soup on its own is salty, but pairs well with the mildly flavored chashu. Personally, I found the addition of potatoes to be more suitable for tourists, as it didn't quite complement the miso broth. The seared bean sprouts also lacked depth in flavor. The crispy onions were a good addition, balancing out the saltiness of the soup. However, the chives seemed out of place, as their spiciness didn't quite match the miso broth. Overall, I felt that the ramen could use some improvement, perhaps by incorporating ingredients that better complement the miso flavor, such as eggplant. I hope to see some evolution in their dishes in the future.

Today I was in the mood for something spicy. But it was an odd time, around three o'clock, when most people are on their lunch break. Still, I was craving ramen. Although they didn't have super spicy options, I decided to visit this place that I had always seen with long lines on weekends. I expected it to be really delicious... I ordered the spicy miso ramen, of course. And since I had just finished hiking and wanted to replenish my nutrients, I also got the spicy miso vegetable ramen. I shivered while waiting in the air-conditioned restaurant, as there was no heating. There were no other customers, and my order arrived in about five minutes. The spicy miso ramen was indeed mildly spicy, not too hot. It was nice to have the shichimi spice blend on the table to adjust the flavor. However, the vegetable toppings in the ramen were quite minimal, mostly just boiled cabbage piled up in layers... with a few bits of carrots and onions. Overall, it was a decent ramen from a chain restaurant. But it was priced at over 1,000 yen, so I'm not sure about the value for money. Still, people line up to eat here, so maybe other menu items are more satisfying!

I feel like this restaurant used to have long lines, but I was able to enter smoothly on my first visit. I chose Hokkaido because I wanted a rich miso flavor. I topped it with a flavored egg and seared chashu. However, the miso flavor wasn't as strong as I had hoped. I was surprised to find french fries in the miso ramen. The flavored egg didn't have much taste. The seared chashu was fatty and the fat was a bit overwhelming for something that was seared. When I slurped the noodles and looked up, I saw a spider web in the corner of the counter. My appetite completely disappeared and I ended up leaving about a third of the bowl. It was disappointing.

Miso Ramen for 803 yen. I ordered the Shinshu miso with mountain vegetables, bean sprouts, a little bit of minced meat, and roasted garlic as toppings, but there was no chashu (roast pork). It seems like chashu is an optional add-on at this restaurant. I found it disappointing that there was no chashu in a regular ramen. I asked the staff for the Shinshu miso with medium richness, but it turned out to be quite light in flavor. The toppings, especially the bean sprouts, didn't seem to match well with the miso flavor. I should have ordered the Hokkaido miso, which is the richest option. The variety of toppings was limited, with a focus on vegetables and lacking in meat, which made me lose interest towards the end of the meal. Overall, it didn't quite suit my taste.

I arrived for lunch just before 2 pm on Saturday. The parking lot was difficult to navigate due to recent heavy snow, and the entrance to the restaurant was very slippery. The place was quite busy with customers. I ordered the Sapporo miso ramen with a boiled egg, and the Shinshu seared miso ramen with a boiled egg. Both had a distinct miso flavor and were delicious. I personally preferred the Sapporo miso. The seared chashu in the Shinshu ramen had a nice crispy texture. The meat miso was also very good. It was a perfect dish to warm up in the winter.

When it gets cold, I always crave miso ramen. Maybe it's because of my younger days in Susukino, drinking and ending the night with miso ramen. This was my first visit. It was a bit difficult to navigate the narrow snow-covered roads once you turn off the main street in Sapporo. But they had parking, so that made the decision easy. I thought I saw about two stores in the city, but turns out they have locations all over the country and even overseas! I had the Shinshu miso ramen. It had unique ingredients like bamboo shoots. However, I felt that the restaurant's identity was a bit lacking, like the chef's passion didn't quite come through. But I guess that's to be expected from a chain restaurant. The soup didn't have a strong miso flavor as I expected, but it was well-balanced overall. Next time, I'll try the Kyushu miso. It's great that they specialize in miso, and you can choose from three different types. I'll definitely be back!

Vegetable ramen for 800 yen. Used coupon for seared chashu. 5 gyoza + small rice for 380 yen. Contains powdered lactic acid bacteria. Total comes to 1298 yen excluding tax. The flavor is not too strong, but a bit mild. Compared to typical Sapporo miso, it has a slightly different taste. The gyoza also has a gentle flavor that goes well with rice. The restaurant is very spacious, making it easy for large groups or families with children to visit. Ample parking space available.

Second visit. I wanted to try a different miso flavor this time, but I couldn't resist the temptation of powdered cheese and ended up choosing Konayuki Ramen. The powdered cheese really stands out! When I absentmindedly blew on it, the powder scattered everywhere. Maybe because of the powdered cheese, the soup looked a bit white? It was delicious, but since it was my second time, I couldn't really tell the difference from a regular miso ramen. I couldn't stop drinking the soup and ended up finishing almost all of it. They also provided a mysterious lactic acid bacteria service this time. They said it wouldn't change the taste even if I added it, so I wonder what kind of service that is?

I chose the vegetable ramen with Hokkaido miso from Hokkaido miso and Shinshu miso. Shinshu miso is said to be sweet. I wonder where Hokkaido miso is located. When ordering miso ramen, you have to be careful because it can be overly garlicky or spicy, but the soup has a gentle flavor. The fried garlic is not bothersome. You can also get extra toppings. The portion is satisfying and filling.

Sapporo City, Hiragishi 5-jo 10-chome. Located along the circular road facing north. There is a spacious parking lot, and the interior of the restaurant has many booth seats, making it family-friendly. There is also a counter for solo diners. This is a specialty miso ramen shop, so they only serve miso ramen. They offer three types of miso: Hokkaido, Shinshu, and Kyushu. They also have limited-time menu items. I ordered the vegetable miso ramen, which arrived in less than 5 minutes. The various vegetables were stir-fried to a crisp, with a high proportion of bean sprouts and cabbage. There were also fried garlic and potatoes, which initially looked like char siu. However, char siu is not included unless you order the char siu ramen. The vegetables were plentiful, but the cabbage cores were tough. The miso had a standard Sapporo ramen flavor, creamy but quite rich. The noodles were curly like Sapporo ramen noodles, slightly thicker and lacking in firmness. The soup coated the noodles well, but the texture and taste of the noodles were not to my liking. Grated garlic was provided for free, which when added to the soup made it even richer (but I felt more energized afterward...). They also offer miso vegetable stir-fry as a side dish, which is quite unique. They have other options like kushikatsu and ham katsu, making it a place where you can enjoy ramen and drinks. Thank you for the meal.
