I tried the Margen miso ramen. The thick and long slices of chashu were delicious. It also had menma, green onions, bean sprouts, onions, ground meat, and other ingredients. The medium curly noodles were also tasty. Next time, I might challenge myself to try the chashu ramen.

I visited this place for the first time. The interior has only 6-7 counter seats, but I was impressed by the chashu noodles after eating the ramen. I ordered the chashu miso ramen and when it arrived, there was a plate full of chashu in front of me! The chashu was exceptionally delicious, I was amazed by it. If you come to Susukino, I highly recommend checking this place out!

Visit on March 30, 2023! Mungen miso for 990 yen, small rice for 150 yen. The Marugen Ramen at that chain restaurant is completely different in taste and style. The fact that ginger comes on a separate plate reminds me of the pure Sumimura-style ramen.

Nice to meet you, Margen Ramen. A small shop with about 7 counter seats. I was a bit drunk, so maybe that's why I felt the miso ramen was light and easy to eat. The huge chashu was delicious, not tough at all.

I went on a business trip to Sapporo and asked my local friends for a ramen shop recommendation. They suggested Marugen, so I decided to visit. The shop had only a counter with seating for 7-8 people and was fully packed. I ordered miso ramen and spicy miso ramen. The miso ramen was very easy to eat and delicious. The spicy miso ramen had a good level of spiciness. Both ramen came with grated ginger, which made them refreshing and easy to eat when added.

Visited on January 29, 2023, we had a late-night drinking session. We started with yakiniku, then had plenty of drinks at a snack bar, and ended up at a ramen shop while completely drunk. It's been a while since we had a night like this (laughs). While we were drinking, we talked about this shop and decided to visit. The seating is limited, so be prepared to wait. The owner was working hard all by himself. We ordered the "Marugen Miso" for 990 yen, as it seemed to be the popular choice. We should have ordered one to share since there were two of us, but we were too drunk (laughs). The ramen was mild with a gentle sweetness, and there was a hint of ginger which seems to be the specialty here. Adding ginger made it refreshing and not too heavy, with a nice punch of miso flavor. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

Sapporo, Chuo-ku, Minami 6-jo Nishi 3-chome 10-14 Susukino Chuo Building 1F. Located in Susukino, along Ekimae-dori, on the 1st floor of Chuo Building. There is an orange signboard with black letters in front of the entrance of the building. As you enter the building, the restaurant is immediately on the left with an orange noren curtain hanging outside. The interior is small with a total of 8 counter seats facing the wall. There is no ticket machine, so you order first and then pay afterwards. On Christmas night, the last ramen of the day. The customers included solo men, couples, and more solo customers later on, making the place full. They offer miso, salt, and spicy miso ramen, but no soy sauce. You can customize your toppings. The default ramen without an egg costs 990 yen, which seems to be the standard price in Susukino. The Margen Miso Ramen costs 990 yen and comes with pork belly chashu arranged in the center of the bowl. Pink pepper is sprinkled on top. The toppings include green onions, bonito flakes, and menma. Grated ginger is provided on the side, allowing you to add it according to your preference. The soup is creamy and light, with a subtle and elegant flavor. The stir-fried bean sprouts add depth to the soup. The noodles are yellow, medium-thick, curly, and typical of Sapporo miso ramen. It is limited to 60 servings, and the shop closes once the soup runs out, so there is a possibility of it being sold out if you visit late.

This was recommended by a friend as the third miso ramen restaurant I visited for the first time in Sapporo. It was the most delicious among the three! Despite it being around 1:30 am, the restaurant was full and we had to wait a bit because it's so popular. I tried adding corn topping to the miso ramen. The chashu pork was so tender and tasty! The soup was also amazing. I want to come back again.

The ramen I ate in Susukino was always just okay, but after a few drinks, it seemed to taste twice as good. However, at Marugen Ramen, the ramen was actually really delicious! We went for a last meal, but the deliciousness got us so excited that we ended up going for drinks at another place. In other words, Marugen Ramen's ramen is the kind that uplifts people's spirits.

For a final drink, I visited this place that I had been wanting to try. It has 8 counter seats and I ordered the Margen miso for 900 yen. It wasn't as rich as it looked, and I didn't really feel anything special about it. It had a clean taste and didn't leave me feeling tired. Maybe it could be a bit more popular, considering its location in a building.

Miso ramen priced at 900 yen and up. The noodles were a bit short but tasty. It had a slight sweetness with a hint of spiciness. Adding ginger halfway through made the soup refreshing. The restaurant is small but cozy. I quite liked it.

Today's final ramen stop was at a restaurant that my senior had been wanting to visit for a while. The place is often closed so timing is crucial. The opening hours are around 8 pm, and when I visited after 10 pm, there were no other customers. The interior of the restaurant is really small, fitting only about five or six people at a time. I decided to order the miso ramen, which seemed to be their specialty. However, at 900 yen per bowl, ramen is starting to become a luxury food. Adding green onions as a topping costs an extra 100 yen. Perhaps because everyone ordered the miso ramen, our bowls arrived in less than 10 minutes. The chashu was huge... too much for me to finish, so I shared with my senior. I didn't get to taste it myself, but I heard it was delicious. The soup had a sweet flavor and was very comforting. It went down smoothly and was so tasty that I finished every last drop. I appreciate that they provided ginger as a condiment, but it would be even better if they used freshly grated ginger instead of the pre-packaged kind. Now, it's time to walk back home.

▼Location▼ Located on the 1st floor of Susukino Chuo Building, at South 6 West 3 along Sapporo Ekimae-dori. ▼About the restaurant▼ Marugen Ramen, opened in November 2014, is a popular restaurant known for its miso ramen. It is located in a small shop with 8 counter seats, quietly operating next to many bars along Ekimae-dori. ▼Menu▼ Marugen Miso, Light Salt, Spicy Miso ramen, as well as options like Negi Chashu Gohan are available. ▼What we ordered▼ ▽Marugen Miso 900 yen▽ (May 2022) This visually appealing ramen comes with a large chashu, green onions, menma, bean sprouts, and bonito flakes. The soup is a creamy and flavorful pork bone-based broth with miso, offering a mild and creamy taste with a hint of sweetness from the miso. The noodles are curly, yellow, medium-thick Sapporo noodles from Ichimatsu Seimen, cooked al dente with a good chewy texture that pairs well with the soup. The chashu is thick, flavorful, and satisfying. ▼Impressions▼ (May 2022) Marugen Ramen is a hidden gem along Ekimae-dori in Sapporo, popular among locals and nightlife enthusiasts for its miso ramen. I had heard about this place when I lived here and finally had the chance to visit during my stay in Sapporo. The ramen exceeded my expectations with its mild yet flavorful broth and delicious toppings. I would love to try their salt ramen next time.

I have been to this place many times, but this was my first post. I know Margen miso is delicious, but this time I decided to try the adventurous salt flavor. It was a hit! The salt flavor is so satisfying that it makes the miso taste even better. The light saltiness, combined with the soup and saltiness, creates a gentle and pleasant taste. The chashu has a good balance of melt-in-your-mouth flavor and firm texture, and the combination of green onions, bamboo shoots, and seaweed in one bite is fantastic. Also, the fried tofu is amazing. It absorbs the soup and becomes a great addition to the dish. If you understand how delicious fried tofu can be, you'll know that the soup in a good ramen is also delicious. I've expanded my options at this restaurant (laughs).

I visited this small shop that stays open late after drinking. It is located on the first floor of Susukino Chuo Building and has only a counter. The ramen menu consists of miso, light salt, and spicy miso, and I recommend the Marugen Miso for 900 yen. The soup is a light miso flavor and the noodles are the classic Sapporo yellow chewy noodles. The chashu comes in a large slice on a separate plate with ginger on the side, which may be inspired by the popular Ramen Saimi. I felt like the salt content was a bit high, but overall, it was a delicious ramen for a late-night spot. Thank you for the meal! (^~^)

After drinking in Sapporo during my trip, I went to Marugen Ramen for miso ramen as a finishing touch. We drank until just before 4 o'clock, and there was a ramen shop nearby that was open until 5 o'clock, so we went there. The miso ramen here is a bit sweet with large slices of chashu as a feature. It was extremely cold, so I added plenty of grated ginger on a separate plate halfway through. The slightly higher price may be due to the location and operating hours.

After eating a satisfying meal of Genghis Khan, I visited this place. It's a suitable location for a final stop, but the interior is small with only 6 counter seats. I ordered a canned beer (400 yen) and "Margen Miso" (900 yen) verbally. They only offer canned beer, no draft beer. The ramen was served in about 5 minutes, with a large piece of chashu in the center. The soup was a bit strong with pork bone flavor, but the white miso added a sweet and mellow taste. As a Sapporo miso ramen for the finish, it was light and decent. The noodles were the classic medium-thick curly type. The stir-fried vegetables were prepared after ordering, following tradition. Overall, it was not bad for a final meal, but it lacked a distinctive feature, making a return visit unlikely. It's a shame considering the great location.

After a long time in Sapporo. Since I had a night free due to the season, I went to my favorite izakaya and bar alone. To finish off, I decided to try miso ramen that I had never tried before. The restaurant is run by a single person, so the interior is quite small. I chose the recommended miso ramen (¥900) with a boiled egg topping for an additional ¥100. The ramen served had a large, melt-in-your-mouth chashu pork as the first thing you notice. The soup is rich but mild, not too heavy. I enjoyed adding ginger provided in a separate dish for flavor variation. The noodles were the curly type typical of Sapporo ramen. The restaurant is open until 5 am, making it convenient for late-night dining.

Arrived at 9:30 pm on Saturday. There were 2 customers already there and 1 more came in later. The restaurant is located on the 1st floor of a building on the main street in Susukino. The sign in katakana is easy to spot. Two of us visited the restaurant. We originally planned to go to a ramen shop, but it had been closed since February, so we ended up here. The interior is small and cozy. The counter is separated with vinyl and even the condiments on the table are covered with vinyl. The owner is the only one working. We ordered the recommended "Marugen Miso" (900 yen) and the "Spicy Miso" for my companion. It took about 10 minutes for our orders to arrive. The ginger was served in a separate dish. I took a sip of the soup first... it tasted like a rich pork bone miso similar to the main branch in Obihiro, but with a perfect balance that was incredibly delicious! It was a perfect way to end the night! After a few sips, I added the ginger all at once. Maybe I added too much, but it was still delicious! The noodles were made by Ichiryu Seimen and cooked to my liking, firm. The large chashu was melt-in-your-mouth delicious! Although the flavor wasn't particularly unique, the balance was excellent! Even my ramen connoisseur companion praised it and told the owner, "It was delicious." The price was a bit high, but the generous portion of chashu made up for it (laughs). Next time, I'll try the "Spicy Miso".

After doing a Flying Clipper at Kameya and Mt. Fuji, I temporarily parted ways with my wife and went to Margen Ramen for some ramen. I ordered the Margen miso ramen, which had a rich and creamy soup with a delicious local flavor that both locals and tourists would enjoy. The noodles were medium-thick curly noodles from Ichiryu Seimen, which paired well with the soup! This was my first visit, but I highly recommend this place for a satisfying meal to end your night in Susukino!
