The store, called "Heavy Snow's Warehouse," is located in a building that you can reach by elevator. It has a great atmosphere with a variety of limited edition drinks, although they can be a bit pricey. The appetizer consists of three types of smoked fish: Sanma from Nemuro, herring from Masumoe, and smoked sardines from Kushiro. All of them are delicious, each with its own unique flavor that pairs well with the alcohol. The sushi platter includes scallops, silver salmon, surf clams, salmon roe, button shrimp, and various parts of the fish. While the quality is good, the sushi is a bit on the firm side. Overall, the ambiance and flavors are great, so I hope they can improve on the texture of the sushi in the future!

I often go to Yomoya, and I've been curious about this place in the same building for a while. Despite being a long-established store founded in the Meiji era, there are hardly any reviews, so I had no idea what to expect. It turned out to be a hidden gem, with the 5th generation master serving some amazing dishes. I opted for the cheaper course, either 8,000 or 11,000 yen. There were some dishes of exceptional quality that I had never tried before, specializing in seafood. It's recognized as one of the top three seafood restaurants in Sapporo, after Sushiryu and Oshidori, offering great value for money. The counter is non-smoking, but smoking is allowed in the back. They mainly serve local Sapporo sake, with a good selection of fresh sake. The ambiance is enhanced by the quiet jazz piano music playing in the background. If you want to impress visitors to Sapporo, this is the place to go. I wish they had more seafood-pairing sake options like Hidaka Miya or Tsukasa Botan. Just a selfish thought.

Sawada Uoten is a restaurant with a humble and friendly owner who serves as the command tower. The counter is non-smoking, and the clean and elegant interior is filled with jazz music. Established in 1886, it is now in its 5th generation! Although it recently moved to a new location last year, it seems to have been passed down through generations of skilled chefs in the family. I started with a refreshing draft beer, followed by a delicious appetizer of smoked herring and smoked Pacific saury. The herring was tender and flavorful, while the saury was served with vinegar miso, making it a perfect match for sake. I chose the Shibata Shuzo brewery's Junmai Ginjo sake from the menu, recommended by the owner, and it was incredibly delicious and easy to drink. The menu, both for food and drinks, felt a bit pricey, but the quality was evident. The Hamana Nao sashimi assortment was recommended, and it did not disappoint. The sashimi slices were thick and rich in flavor, showcasing the freshness of the seafood. The scallops from Soya Misaki were freshly shucked and delightful, while the Hachimancho octopus had a great balance of fat and umami flavor. The Shimizu mackerel from Kushiro was good but could have been slightly softer in texture. The overnight marinated Silver Saint from Hidaka was perfectly tender and flavorful, a rare treat in such a thick cut. The sliced squid was fresh and had a nice chewy texture, with both tender meat and crunchy parts. The tuna sushi was only available in fatty tuna, which was a bit limiting, but still delicious. The Hachiman live sea urchin was exquisite, with a delicate sweetness that paired well with the seaweed and rice. The restaurant also offered a special dish of crab miso grilled, which I found intriguing but opted to try next time due to budget constraints. The complimentary sherbet served at the end was a refreshing way to end the meal. The owner's hospitality and service were top-notch, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Overall, Sawada Uoten is a great choice for business entertainment or elegant gatherings. The atmosphere was lively and bustling, with a stable popularity among guests.

The atmosphere is clean and calm Japanese style. The staff's service is very polite and kind. The seafood taste is considered top class in Sapporo. In particular, the ankimo carefully selected by the chef from various regions has no unpleasant smell, is rich, and was the best taste I have ever had. The price is reasonable considering the quality of taste and service. However, it is a bit disappointing that there are few types of sake, and as a sake lover, I felt somewhat unsatisfied. Also, it would be nice to have simmered dishes. Leaving aside the small details, if you want to treat people from outside the region to seafood, this place is definitely recommended.
