There are no delicious ramen shops in Tomakomai. I heard this from an acquaintance. I have visited several shops since then, and while I don't think there are no delicious ramen shops, there may be many misses. This shop is also one of them. Personally, it's not great. Even the seasoned egg is disappointing.

I came to this ramen shop that I haven't been to before. It's called Menya, but it's mostly a Chinese restaurant with a lot of Chinese-style menu items. There are many photos on the walls, making it easy to choose while looking at them. It seems like a one-person operation for both serving and cooking, so it can be difficult to take orders when they are busy with cooking. Please be patient. They don't use food tickets, it's order-style, and they only accept cash for payment. There are counter seats and table seats available. There are about 3 parking spaces in front of the shop. ★ Miso Chashu Ramen 1,350 yen. The regular miso ramen is 850 yen, but when you add chashu, it becomes 1,350 yen. It increases by 500 yen, but it seems like each slice of chashu costs 100 yen. The chashu is round and very soft without any unpleasant smell, and it was delicious. ★ Soy Sauce Ramen 800 yen. It had a slightly sweet flavor and was simply delicious soy sauce ramen. ★ Ramen Shop Fried Rice 580 yen. It was half fried rice, but it seemed to have the same amount as a regular fried rice. It was a classic ramen shop fried rice that I was craving, and I was very satisfied. It was delicious. ★ Sweet and Sour Pork 990 yen. Sichuan Dan Dan noodles for 980 yen. For some reason, I've been eating Dan Dan noodles two days in a row. I wonder how "Dan Dan noodles" should be written correctly? The spelling here is "Dan Dan noodles", the shop I ate at the previous day spelled it as "Tan Tan noodles", and a shop in Chitose I ate at a long time ago spelled it as "Dan Dan noodles". As long as it tastes good, it's fine. This place also has ramen, as well as Chinese dishes like shrimp chili and spring rolls, although I haven't tried them yet. The owner is the only one working, so sometimes you may have to wait. The Dan Dan noodles here are easy to eat with a generous amount of sesame flavor. Personally, I would prefer it to be a bit spicier.

I want to eat Tantanmen! It's been 4 months since I last went. I arrived first when they opened at 11:30 am, with 3 more customers after me. I ordered Tantanmen with a seasoned egg. The chef in front of me carefully prepared it and it was delicious when it was ready! The spiciness was just right and it was piping hot. Oh, they also started serving Hiyashi Chuka. I found a slow lunch spot and decided to try it out. I ordered the miso ramen for 800 yen. The soup was oily with a mild miso flavor, not too salty. The noodles were medium thickness and cooked al dente. Toppings included sliced pork, wood ear mushrooms, seaweed, bamboo shoots, green onions, and sesame seeds. There was also a Chinese-style omurice on the menu that looked tempting. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

Ankake Yakisoba for 980 yen. This time, I chose the popular Ankake Yakisoba since I had ordered miso-based dishes the last two times. I tried the weekday limited Chinese lunch menu, starting with the shrimp and squid in chili sauce. There was not much shrimp, but plenty of squid and sauce, very delicious! The fried chicken was also tasty. I poured the sauce over the rice and finished it all. Finished with almond jelly for dessert. Very satisfying lunch. The sound of the wok and ladle clanging together was music to my ears♪ It's done! So tasty! It's been a while since I've had such delicious fried rice. I also tried the Sichuan-style dandan noodles before and they were delicious too. The weekday lunch menu offers three different Chinese lunch sets, so this place is definitely more of a Chinese restaurant than a noodle shop! I had only been to this restaurant once when it first opened. They have various specialties such as miso ramen (recommended), Sichuan tantanmen (recommended by the manager), and ankake yakisoba (a specialty of the house).... There are many different options to choose from. The dipping noodles are also good, and the soy sauce ramen or salt ramen are also good choices. Since I had the miso ramen last time, this time I chose the "Spicy Miso" with medium spiciness. The spiciness comes in three levels, and I asked for medium. I noticed something while looking at the menu. The normal ramen is written in hiragana as "miso ramen, soy sauce ramen, salt ramen", but when it comes with chashu, it is written in kanji as "miso chashu, soy sauce chashu, salt chashu". I wonder if there is a meaning behind this? Here it comes. The soup is quite red. Yes, it's quite spicy. Since it's a sweet miso soup, the spiciness is even stronger. It comes with seaweed, wood ear mushrooms, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, and one slice of chashu. The seasoned egg topping is cut in half, and has a strong flavor. The sliced green onions have a nice texture. The chashu is thick, but crumbles softly when picked up with chopsticks. Next time, I think I'll try the ankake yakisoba. I wonder how "piroyukin" who loves extremely spicy food would rate this level of spiciness? I'm a little curious.

Visited with my wife for lunch. I ordered Anka Yakisoba and my wife ordered Gomoku Ramen with salt. We shared by using a bowl and a plate. We added mustard and it was delicious! There are a counter, two tables, and two raised seating areas at the back, with a total of 16 seats. The recommended dish is the Ankake Yakisoba priced at 980 yen (tax included). The generous amount of thick sauce has a rich flavor with a good balance of saltiness, and the ingredients are plentiful and authentic. The noodles are stir-fried well. The sauce may become a bit watery towards the end, but it adds to the enjoyment of the meal. This Ankake Yakisoba has a presence that is a mix between a ramen shop and an authentic Chinese restaurant. It's delicious! This flavor is likely to be well-received in Tomakomai. The owner, who appears to be in his forties and speaks with a Hakodate accent, has experience in Chinese cuisine from his younger days at the Hakodate Royal Hotel. This explains the extensive Chinese menu, particularly the Chinese-style omurice, which is intriguing. During my visit, the owner and the part-time staff were chatting throughout, which is a concern in these times and should be addressed promptly. Personally, I look forward to revisiting this newly emerged restaurant.

On January 17, 2021, a new ramen restaurant opened in the Tomakomai Nishi area, so I decided to visit right after it opened at 11:00 am. However, it was closed. It turns out they are closed on Sundays. I decided to visit again at 11:30 am and this time they were open. The place was already crowded with customers. I ordered a large miso ramen and waited for about 25 minutes. The ramen had a striking appearance with white negi (green onions) and a strong garlic aroma. The miso flavor was sweet and the noodles were glossy and chewy. It was a delicious Sapporo-style ramen. I am glad to see another tasty ramen restaurant open up.
