I passed by Doppo and it seems like they moved closer to here. I remembered the bakery that my friends and I used to love. They had this bread with crispy edges that I liked, even though now it's 120 yen. It's a bit oily because it's fried, but it's crispy and delicious. When I used to buy this, both my friends and I had kids in elementary and middle school. This bread was a great snack for the kids. I wonder if mothers like me still buy it for their children. The sweet bread also looks delicious, but the raisin bread lined up in rows looks tempting. The sesame bread that was just baked also looked appealing as it was being carried out one after another. The person carrying them must be the one baking them. It was a bit of happiness to see the bread being baked continuously. And I suppose it brings happiness to see them being sold out quickly here. It's a modest but good bakery.

This is an old-fashioned bakery located on Hon-dori street. Although the sign says 20% off in the photo, when I visited around 6 pm, all items were actually 30% off. I tried the pork cutlet sandwich and chestnut sweet bun, both of which were soft and easy for elderly people to eat. The total cost for both items after the discount was around 250 yen.

A traditional cozy bakery. I went at 4 o'clock and there were plenty of breads, with signs offering 20% off on sweet and savory breads. What was unusual was the DIY sandwich that you can toast yourself. I've been to countless bakeries but this was the first time I saw that!

I wasn't a fan of hard bread, but this one has a crispy crust and a soft inside, very delicious. It goes well with meals or as a sandwich. There is no parking lot, but it seems okay to park in front of the shop.

**2017.06** I had lunch at a popular restaurant but my stomach was not fully satisfied. I decided to buy a snack somewhere else, and for me, snacks mean bread (lol). I used my smartphone to search for a nearby bakery. That's how I ended up at "DOPPO." The bakery was within walking distance from the previous restaurant. The inside of the bakery was surprisingly crowded, with everyone buying bread for lunch. The cashier seemed to be the wife, while the husband was baking the bread. They seemed like seasoned professionals, maybe running the bakery for a long time. I bought a cream horn for 130 yen + tax and 3 mini croissants for 25 yen + tax each. I bought a drink from a nearby supermarket and enjoyed my snacks in the parking lot. The cream horn was a soft, old-fashioned bread with a bit of a chewy texture. The cream was the typical vegetable oil-based cream found in store-bought bread. The mini croissants were just your average mini croissants. Overall, it was a delicious treat! Next time, I would like to try the sandwiches or other meal-like bread that everyone else was buying.

When I was in Hakodate, I met up with two close friends. We had a meal together, and then my friend from Sapporo wanted to go to this bakery, Doppo. I had never been there before or maybe only once, and I always had this friend buy bread for me. It seems like they still have the same bread as back then. I remember they used to sell the fried ends of the bread for 80 yen, which was nostalgic. My friend said they love the taste of the French bread dough here. I was having a hard time deciding on which bread to get for breakfast the next morning at the hotel. I was happy to find the Milky France bread. And to top it off, there was a 20% discount inside the store, which made me even happier. I saw a sign on the wall that said there is a 20% discount every day from 4 o'clock, and today, the 28th, seemed to be the once-a-month Sunday morning discount day. The lady working there had a kind demeanor. She was smiling at my friend who was feeling nostalgic. Just one piece of bread can bring back memories of Hakodate, that's what life is about. I wonder if my friend is enjoying their breakfast at the hotel right now, with a smile on their face. I enjoyed my bread while thinking about that. The walnut bread, when lightly baked with water, tasted just like it was freshly baked, without any strange oiliness, and it was delicious. The Milky France bread had that delicious French bread dough taste. I hope to continue liking the bakery that my friend loved.

Some people who post here may write, but as the title suggests, it has an old-fashioned feel. It may not have a stylish atmosphere. However, the breads all seem to be lined up with confidence. It's not a place that many people pass by, and there is no parking lot, so I don't have many opportunities to come here. If you go in the evening, they offer a discount, so I end up buying more in the evening. I buy a lot, but I've never felt disappointed before. Maybe it's because of the low prices. The bread I bought this time was also cheap. (See photo for reference.) I have a favorite bakery nearby that I used to go to a lot when I was little. They are still in business. There are good memories of the bakery where my friend's sister (pretty) used to work part-time. A while ago, I bought bread there after a long time, but it didn't taste as good as before. It was very disappointing. The appearance is old-fashioned. I have a feeling that they will continue to maintain this taste in the future, so I will probably visit the bakery again in the evening. Visit on 2013.02.11.

The shop is not the trendy and stylish "Boulangerie Nantara Contara" type, but rather has a simple feel. It has full glass windows, so you can see inside clearly. There are shelves lined with various types of bread. There are many old-fashioned breads, like chikuwa bread and other side dishes. They probably offer discounts from Saturday evenings. Sometimes there are a lot of cars parked in front of the shop. Today, the lights were on at 7 PM, so I went in. I heard that they close at 7 PM, but they were still open even after 10 minutes had passed. It was close to closing time, but there were still some breads left. Everything was 30% off, as written. They had nostalgic items like cream coronets. The breads had a slightly sweet dough and were quite substantial. It may not be fancy, but kids might prefer this kind of bread. The large croissant was cheap but crispy and delicious.

The bakery has a traditional feel to it and offers around 20 different types of bread, with a slightly larger selection of savory bread. The price of the sandwich bread is quite reasonable for a small bakery. It is very fluffy and stays that way for 2-3 days. Personally, I recommend the "brown sugar bread" and the "shrimp chili bread". When I go, I always get these two (laughs). Sometimes, there are discounted bread from the previous day. It's fine if you plan to eat it right away. However, the savory bread can sometimes be hard or greasy...

This shop is convenient because it is nearby and easy to visit. I often go in the morning, so I am happy to eat freshly baked bread, although there are fewer varieties which is a bit disappointing. However, you can buy bread from the previous day at a low price, which is a good deal. There are many favorites of mine, such as pumpkin, tuna boulanger, baby milk, and Milanese. Personally, I feel that the cheese and bacon in Milanese have become a bit lacking compared to the past, but there are still many delicious bread options available.

It's a bakery with a cozy family atmosphere. They have a nostalgic selection of items, and when I visited during lunchtime, customers were coming in one after another. They offer classic dishes like potato salad, hamburgers, and yakisoba alongside their baked goods. The fact that they wrap their items in plastic wrap gives off a gentle vibe. The potato salad, in particular, was delicious when eaten together with the bread. It felt like this is how potato salad should be. They have a variety of bread, making it a place where both children and elderly can enjoy.

There is no parking lot so I can't take my time to look around the store, but the time I go seems to have a lot of deli bread. And the pricing is quite reasonable compared to other bakeries in the city. I usually go during their 20% off sale on Saturday evenings from 4 pm. Lately, if it's past 4 pm, there aren't many good bread left unless the weather is bad, which is disappointing. I really like the pumpkin bread, but it might be limited time only. I always buy the sandwich bread when they have some left. This store also has a wide variety of sweet bread, so everyone has their own favorite bread. I wish this store was closer so I could visit more often.
