I heard about straw-grilled dishes and was curious, so I decided to visit. I ordered straw-grilled beef tongue, bonito, mackerel, and Camembert cheese. They all had a unique aroma different from charcoal grilling or smoking, and they were all delicious. I sat at the counter and watched as they grilled the dishes with straw right in front of me, which was impressive.

We visited with 7 colleagues. It's been a while, hasn't it? Today, we opted for the all-you-can-drink option for 1,780 yen plus 500 yen for the high-grade mode! They have SORACHI 1984 beer and a variety of local sake including Sake, Katsuyama, Wakatakeya, Fudo, and Juichishu. For food, we ordered 2 plates of assorted sashimi, 2 plates of straw-grilled dishes (bonito, chicken breast, camembert), 2 plates of fried chicken with vinegar, and 2 plates of grilled chicken gizzards. The SORACHI 1984 beer from Sapporo Brewery is made with the legendary hop "Sorachi Ace" from Kamifurano Town. We started with a toast with SORACHI 1984! The aroma is different from other beers. The fine bubbles make it smooth to drink. After enjoying the beer, we switched to sake mode! The bonito tataki went well with the Sake, just like in the show hosted by Yoshida Rui. The sashimi, including the rare octopus, was delicious. We enjoyed 5 types of sake and ended with Sake again. Thank you for the feast!

When I went to Kochi last month, I was amazed by the authentic straw-grilled bonito tataki. Among them, the salted bonito tataki was exquisite. Before entering Kochi, I also had salted tuna in Ise, and that was also amazing. The freshness of the fish must be the key...♬ I returned to Sapporo and found out about this place, so I came here. I made a reservation online and could only choose the counter seat for 2 people⤵︎ When I arrived at the restaurant, I was surprised by how crowded it was on a Sunday... The customers were mostly young people. First, I sat down and toasted with a beer. The first course was a soup, which was delicious ( ˘͈ ᵕ ˘͈ ) Now, for the order, ▪️Make-your-own potato salad ▪️5 slices of straw-grilled bonito The potato salad came first. I mixed it as instructed and it was quite delicious⸜( ´ ꒳ ` )⸝ The bonito tataki took a while to come out. I could see the kitchen from the counter, but there was no flame from the straw...? It took about 15 minutes, and finally, the fire was lit (flames). There used to be a large glass on the counter for a better view, but now it's covered with a board, so the performance can't be seen well. What a shame‼︎ It took a while to come out, but first, I tried it with the sauce. The smell of straw stimulated my nostrils. Wait, there are no slices of garlic. As for the taste, this is different from the authentic one... Next, I tried the salted bonito. The fishy smell hit me hard (๑°⌓︎°๑) Maybe it's the freshness... The quality is completely different from the one in Kochi. It could be the sauce, garlic, rock salt, freshness... Second visit. Today is a farewell party. It seems crowded everywhere at this time, so we couldn't get a private room. We sat at a table for five people, which was a bit cramped. The menu has a variety of options besides straw-grilled dishes, and the food is delicious. The all-you-can-drink sake is not bad either. I would like to use this restaurant again!

I had been interested in this place for a while, so I finally went. The interior of the restaurant had a nice street stall atmosphere! I had imagined straw-grilled dishes to be like the bonito tataki in Kochi, but here they had unique items like meat and cheese, which was interesting. I opted for the all-you-can-drink course and started with a lemon sour and a hot pot appetizer! Even without upgrading, you get a draft beer included. I ordered the sashimi platter, assorted straw-grilled dishes, grilled lamb, and fried chicken cartilage. As it got busier, the service became visibly slower, but both the meat and fish were deliciously prepared. Towards the end of our allotted time, the food arrived quickly and we were rushed, but other than that, we had a leisurely and enjoyable time. Thank you for the meal! m(_ _)m

I made a reservation for a dinner with close friends at a cost of ¥4000 per person (with a ¥500 discount per person using a coupon). The first course, a small appetizer, was announced as "an appetizer" by the waiter, which made me feel a bit uneasy. We had booked the course, so why were we served an appetizer? I asked the waiter and was relieved to hear that it was indeed part of the course. From there, we enjoyed the rest of the course. However, when it came to the final dish, instead of the "straw-grilled beef bowl," we were served rice with corn, which was not part of the course. I asked the waiter about this discrepancy, and was told that the course may vary depending on the availability of ingredients. Despite booking the course several days in advance, we were unable to enjoy the signature dish of the restaurant, the straw-grilled beef. I wonder what kind of situation would prevent them from having beef available. The staff's response lacked sincerity and it was embarrassing for us as customers. It was a very disappointing experience.

When you get off the elevator, the restaurant is right there. There are tables and private rooms arranged around the open space. You are seated at a central table. The menu book is available, but you order using a QR code on your own smartphone. Starting from a paper menu to an iPad, and finally ordering on your own smartphone... you can feel the changing times. First, Sapporo Classic (draft beer) + ☆0.5 and a sashimi platter including striped jack. The fish is fatty and delicious. The tuna is marinated tuna. It's rich and tasty. Next, there's Matsukawa Karei, a fish I've only seen in Hokkaido. It's fatty and stands out from other flounders. It has an elegant white flesh and is delicious. A straw-grilled assortment of bonito, pork, and chicken. Being the main dish, they are all delicious. Bonito is particularly tasty. Straw-grilled mentaiko, makes you crave sake. Buttered salted cod roe potatoes, a classic. It has plenty of salted cod roe and is satisfying. Thank you for the meal. However, the smell of cigarette smoke drifting in ruined the delicious food. I visited for a work party. At first, I thought it was a failure, but the warayaki was delicious and I got hooked on it haha. Also, the latte was so delicious that I had more than 10 cups haha. If the drinks had come a little faster, it would have been a 4.2 rating.

I wanted to drink good sake today, so I decided to order a la carte. I ordered sake, which was served in a wine glass. I was happy with this because it was a kind soup that seemed like it would help prevent getting too drunk. It was much better than getting potato salad as an appetizer. It may be cheap in terms of cost, but it showed consideration for drinkers like me. Of course, it tasted good too. I ordered the recommended bonito straw-grilled dish. The price was a bit high, considering that bonito is inexpensive. But the taste was delicious. It came with many condiments, so I enjoyed changing the flavor while eating. Then I had oysters. Today they were only a hundred yen. For a hundred yen, the volume and taste were very satisfying. I was so focused on drinking that I didn't try anything else, so I would like to challenge other dishes next time. Thank you for the meal♪

During my business trip to Sapporo, I was grateful to find a restaurant that stayed open late despite many places closing due to the state of emergency. They specialize in straw-grilled dishes, and I highly recommend trying them out. They offer a variety of ingredients cooked in this way. I forgot to take a photo, but it's a lively izakaya where you can have a great time with friends. The prices are also very reasonable.

This shop is open until late at night, which is very convenient. They also have tatami seating. The straw-grilled dishes are rare but deliciously fragrant. The sashimi was not watery, and the liver of the hagfish sashimi was fresh and firm. The grilled stingray fin was thick and had a unique texture, moist and tender. The crunchy cartilage was soft and tasty inside the meat. The salted salmon was not dry but moist and very tasty. Highly recommended. The sea urchin rice bowl for 800 yen is a great deal! It may not be from Hokkaido, but it didn't have a strong smell. I am very satisfied!

Mambonaka, a strong ally even in the midst of the pandemic! At Warayaki Sakaba Akuto, when places like Shoen and Nishitsuru were closed, this place in the same group was still open! It's always so busy that you can't get in without a reservation. They offer all-you-can-drink options and the prices are reasonable. The horse sashimi is decent, and they have a variety of grilled dishes. The bonito, which is the signature dish of the restaurant, is pretty good. They also have private rooms, making it convenient to use during the pandemic.

I really like Warayaki Sakaba Akuto-san. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, they temporarily closed but reopened in June with an amazing all-you-can-eat oyster plan! They offer fresh oysters, steamed oysters, butter-grilled oysters, fried oysters, and unlimited appetizers. It was delicious! Keep up the good work!

I used it for the second time. At 9:00, the famous bonito straw-grilled and all other straw-grilled dishes were sold out. Among them, I was able to order Seseri straw-grilled breast meat tataki with straw and cut-in pickled mackerel straw-grilled, which was initially out of stock but was announced to be available again. The staff's apologetic attitude was evident, and I was very impressed. Next time, I'll definitely try the bonito straw-grilled. I had plenty of highballs with all-you-can-drink. On March 9, 2021, things seemed to have calmed down a bit, and with the upcoming birthday of the store manager who was the reason I started coming to this restaurant, I decided to visit Akuto-san after a long time. I arrived at the opening time of 5 pm. Oh, there were people who had left, new faces, and student part-timers who were leaving for new jobs starting in the spring. The usual appetizer was Chinese cabbage and chicken soup. The taste seemed slightly different this time. This appetizer actually tastes slightly different depending on who makes it. I remember how delicious the one made by F-kun, who left, was. Lemon sour has become my go-to drink for home drinking during this pandemic. But the lemon sour at the restaurant... it's delicious! The refreshing taste of lemon coming from the perfectly chilled drink! No complaints there. The sashimi of golden eye snapper had a nice layer of fat on it, and when I dipped it in soy sauce with a touch of wasabi... the fat spread out on the surface of the soy sauce creating ripples. There's an indescribable sweetness that fills your mouth when you chew on it. And the color is just beautiful. Grilled tilefish in straw wrapping is a must-have at Akuto-san. Let's go with the white-fleshed tilefish. Apparently, tilefish is classified as a red-fleshed fish based on its components. But it looks more white-fleshed, doesn't it? The soft flesh with the savory aroma of the straw wrapping, this calls for some sake. A relatively mild sake that goes well with grilled dishes. The grilled dish was prepared by a new staff member. They grilled it with skillful hands. 59 Takachiyo Junmai Ginjo "Hanafubuki" Spring Label Nama-zake. A sake with a spring-like label from Takachiyo. "Hanafubuki" is the sake rice used. It has a fruity aroma, sweetness, and is easy to drink. It seems like a good match for Western cuisine as well. When it came time to pay, I handed over the change as a farewell gift to Naoki-kun, a student part-timer who was graduating and starting a job on the mainland. He worked diligently and earnestly, so it was a token of appreciation for him.

Second visit to this restaurant specializing in straw-grilled dishes. The menu includes straw-grilled bonito, mackerel, camembert cheese, and oysters. Also tried spring rolls, scallop sinew, and locally sourced chicken. The bonito was the most delicious, but today the mackerel really hit the spot. With all-you-can-drink included, it cost 3,500 yen per person for a group of four. If there were men in the group, we would probably need to spend a bit more for enough food. Next time, I definitely want to order the mackerel and spring rolls.

On August 25, 2020, Junya Hamaki, who will be leaving the public stage this month, created various dishes that always made me smack my lips. On my last day off this month, I went to visit his restaurant. Before going to the restaurant, I chose a small gift to show my appreciation for all his hard work. I arrived at the restaurant at the opening time of 5 pm. The appetizer tasted even better than usual. Sapporo Classic beer in a glass mug always has a special taste! A sashimi assortment was being offered for ¥500 as a weekly service for the 4th anniversary. I asked if I could have it as a service, but they said it's ¥500 today. I was surprised by the generous 8-piece assortment! The sashimi was served on a salt plate, and I enjoyed it with wasabi without soy sauce. The gentle saltiness of the salt plate was very nice. I savored Junya's sashimi, taking my time more than usual. The grilled soft white leek in sweet sauce had a crunchy texture and a light grilled white leek flavor. It was a great palate cleanser! The live baby eels were brought in a large styrofoam box by a supplier. What's this? Baby eels! And they're big, alive, and squirming! They were bought for Naoki's practice under Junya's guidance, and I requested the grilled white eel. The grilled white eel was fluffy and tasty. When I pulled it apart with chopsticks, it was tender and white. It had a mild and gentle flavor. It may not have a strong taste, but it was delicious in its own way. There was no smell due to the fresh skin. I was told it was a practice item for Naoki, so it was served as a complimentary dish. Junya will continue to work on preparations and other tasks at Akuto. It's good news that he will still have the opportunity to teach his juniors. When I try the dishes made by his juniors, I want to give my honest opinions without hesitation. Junya, the dishes you create are seriously delicious. Thank you for the meal.

The straw-grilled dish was excellent, but the side dishes were also amazing! The eel roll was huge and wrapped in nori, which was very stylish! The asparagus butter cheese with warm egg and sea urchin was irresistible! The combination of asparagus and cheese, along with the rich flavors of the egg and sea urchin, made it perfect for accompanying drinks! The mentaiko pork roll was not only filled with mentaiko but also wrapped with shiso leaf, creating a perfect match with the pork! I will definitely come back for the straw-grilled dish!
