Second visit. Learned that if the timing is bad, you will be waiting endlessly. Waiting is fine, but never expected to wait for almost an hour after ordering♪ Still, it was delicious and satisfying! Sunday drive. Came to Nayoro early in the morning to buy new rice. Bought rice at a roadside station and took a bath at the Chippubetsu hot spring attached to the Chikubetsu roadside station. I quite like the Chippubetsu hot spring. Lunchtime. I had my eye on a restaurant I wanted to visit on this day, which was the "Ebi-Ten" in Fukagawa City that I visited before. The only concern was the "irregular holidays." But it should be fine, it was open when I visited last time! It's Sunday today, so it should probably be open... When I arrived, they were unexpectedly closed for the day! Haha, all I could do was laugh. It was 11:27. What a dilemma. The Kamameshi restaurant on the 2nd floor of the roadside station would probably be extremely crowded. ...Will I make it to Shihou Restaurant, which opens at 11:30!? I hurried over, lucky to find a parking space for one car in front of the restaurant! Parked the car and entered the restaurant with excitement. It seemed like there were seats available, so I felt relieved. The staff informed us that there might be a delay in serving dishes due to the crowded conditions and that cooking might take some time. We agreed and placed our order as soon as the water was served, then waited. From the table, I could see the kitchen, where the chef was working hard on the cooking. Each dish was being prepared meticulously. ... The first dish seemed to be ready. It had been over 10 minutes since the restaurant opened. But... I had a bad feeling about this. It was around 11:45, and the restaurant was almost full. Those who came in later had to give up or leave their names and phone numbers to wait in their cars. No one complained. We waited. I entered at 11:32, so I was one of the last to arrive. It seemed destined for me to wait a long time as I entered. ... We waited. Looking at the kitchen, the chef was vigorously stirring a pot. "Is it ready yet!?" I couldn't say such words, it would be rude. He was cooking diligently, not slacking off. Those who came to this restaurant probably understood that, so we waited. Waited. There were four of us, and the dishes were served separately. First was the Sweet and Sour Pork set meal. (About 40 minutes after entering) Then came the Sweet and Sour Pork set meal. (About 43 minutes after entering) ... The Sweet and Sour Pork set meal looked delicious~. Those who hadn't received their dishes yet couldn't wait and started eating the Sweet and Sour Pork to satisfy their hunger. I just waited. ... It seemed like the companion who had finished the Sweet and Sour Pork set meal. Exactly one hour after entering, the Sweet and Sour Pork set meal was served. Finally, the Set B (Half Fried Rice, Half Ankake Yakisoba) was served around 1 hour and 5 minutes. Of course, no one complained. We were informed at the beginning that the order might not be followed, and the dishes would be served in order, so it would take some time. Alright, it's time to taste it! I've been waiting for an hour, and I'm starving!! ◎ Sweet and Sour Pork set meal 1,160 yen The menu prices have increased overall compared to the visit 9 months ago, but the rate of increase is less than 10%. Originally, the set meals were in the price range of around 1,000 yen, so considering the changes in the economy, it feels cheap. First, the soup. It had a slight thickness and a mysterious umami flavor. The soup was quite delicious!! The salad had a unique dressing. It was nice to have a salad as the main dish was rich in flavor. The main dish, Sweet and Sour Pork, looked hearty. When I tasted it, it was indeed hearty, but the flavors were well balanced. The whole dish had a miso flavor coating, and it was not too oily or heavy. The taste of the dish made me want to eat more rice. This dish would go well with beer. Before I knew it, I couldn't stop eating with my chopsticks. I kept eating more and more. I took a break to eat some pickled vegetables, which had a spicy and tangy taste, and it was also delicious. And then the rice. I read somewhere that they use local rice from Fukagawa. I love the concept of using locally sourced ingredients, but the rice was so delicious that it didn't matter. The rice was of high quality and extremely delicious. As a rice lover, I would say that the rice at this restaurant is superb. The cooking was also perfect. They serve a large portion of rice, but the Sweet and Sour Pork itself was delicious, and I felt like having a second helping. The additional rice is 160 yen for a small portion and 200 yen for a large portion. If it weren't for the "tasting" sharing from my companion, I would have ordered a small portion of rice for a refill.
