On my day off, I decided to go to Fukagawa. It took me 40 minutes to get there. Unfortunately, the restaurant I wanted to visit was closed for lunch. So I decided to check out another place I had in mind. But that one was also closed. I didn't have a third option prepared, so I ended up going to my favorite restaurant in Fukagawa. I arrived at 13:40, just in time before the 14:00 last order for lunch. The restaurant was still crowded, so I had to wait a bit after placing my order. I was torn between ordering a set meal or individual dishes, as everything on the menu was delicious. The prices for extra portions like large rice and soup were a bit high, so I had to carefully consider my order. I ended up ordering the Gyoza set meal, which was absolutely delicious. The handmade gyoza had a chewy skin filled with flavorful meat juices. The egg drop soup that came with the set meal was also well-made and satisfying. I also tried the Xiao Long Bao, which was authentic and had a rich soup inside. The fried rice was moist and well-seasoned, while the stir-fried liver and chives dish was surprisingly tasty even for those who don't like liver. Lastly, the Sichuan Mapo Tofu (extra spicy) was a must-try for its intense spiciness and delicious flavor. Overall, the meal was a delightful experience, and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.

I went in the early evening on a midsummer day. There were a lot of groups ordering set meals for some reason, so it took a long time for our dishes to arrive. The staff in the restaurant were elderly, so I guess it couldn't be helped. However, once our dishes arrived, any frustration from the wait was swept away. The food was delicious. The yakisoba with thick sauce was black in color. I thought it might be soy sauce-based because of the dark sauce, but it was different. The vegetables were perfectly cooked. The richness of the oil was also delicious. The noodles were cooked just right. Oh, this is a tasty yakisoba with thick sauce. On the other hand, the fried rice didn't feel too oily, and it had a somewhat corned beef-like aroma. Maybe it was a flavor from stir-frying Chinese ham? I'm not sure, but I prefer the type with more egg and oil flavor. The dish came with one siu mai, which was very tasty. It was a meaty siu mai, but not tough, and soft and fluffy. A very delicious siu mai. Overall, the deliciousness of the yakisoba with thick sauce made the stress of the wait disappear.

Arrived before 13:00 on a weekday. Had to wait for about 10 minutes as there were empty seats but they were not yet cleared. Ordered the Ankake Yakisoba and Cha-han B set, as well as the Braised Pork, Gyoza, Ebi Chili, and Almond Tofu special set. While waiting, enjoyed the self-service Jasmine tea. Waited for 40 minutes from ordering. Be prepared to wait during lunchtime. Everything was delicious! Especially loved the Braised Pork, the flavors were great with the use of star anise. Each dish was carefully made and tasted amazing. With a variety of menu options, it would be even better if they could serve faster with a selection of 3 dishes. Definitely worth revisiting!

Hokkaido Wanderlust Journey ㊿ I called at noon and made a reservation for 5 pm in Fukagawa City. It's a popular restaurant with reasonable set meals. I was the first to arrive in the evening and was guided to a private room even though I was dining alone. I ordered the Special Set Meal for ¥1600. Everyone had made reservations, and the restaurant was full within 30 minutes. It took 20 minutes from ordering to serving, which was a bit slow as mentioned in many reviews. However, if you order early, it's not a problem! The shrimp chili was authentic and not too spicy but had a lingering deliciousness. The braised pork was tender and melt-in-your-mouth. The rice was so good! The almond jelly dessert was also very delicious. I enjoyed the Special Set Meal. There is a sunflower field nearby, which is said to be the largest in Japan. The roadside station where I stayed overnight was also impressive!

I had dinner at a famous Chinese restaurant in Fukagawa during a business trip! What caught my attention was that it said "Chinese cuisine" instead of "Chinese cuisine". That's promising! And it was delicious indeed! Everything was delicious! And authentic! Especially the pig trotters! They were fried to a crispy texture on the outside, while still being soft and collagen-rich on the inside, perfect! When it came time to pay, the chef even came out to greet us! Thank you for the wonderful meal!

When it comes to Fukagawa, this is the place. The Chinese food here is delicious. Last time, I ordered a set, but this time I had the Mapo Eggplant. It was so delicious. I also ordered the Sweet and Sour Pork set, but I forgot to take a picture. We shared it between two people. The Sweet and Sour Pork set had plenty of sauce and was very tasty. An employee was teaching a new staff member how to fix the cushions, but I accidentally saw something I shouldn't have (lol). I'll keep it a secret. Thank you for the meal!

I was prepared for the crowds, but on a weekday afternoon, I was seated right away and didn't have to wait long for my food. The staff were efficient and pleasant. The sweet and sour pork set was just right - crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The vegetables had a nice crunch to them. The sweet and savory sauce was full of flavor and went well with the rice. It was served piping hot, so be careful. I can see why it's so popular - a delicious Chinese set meal. It seems like there might be a bit of a wait during busy times, though.

I visited without knowing that there is authentic Chinese cuisine in Fukagawa. I visited at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, and because the parking lot and the store are spacious, I was able to enter without waiting. The Sichuan mapo tofu has a strong spiciness that goes well with rice. Overall, the quality is high. I think it's a good restaurant to visit at least once.

I arrived at the restaurant around 12 p.m. in May 2023♪ The place was full with customers from before and after me, as I made a stop for lunch in Fukagawa on my way to Sapporo where there is a popular restaurant. It was a weekday but it was lunchtime, so it was full! There is a parking lot in front of the shop and a second parking lot as well. They will call you when a table is available, so I waited until then. I was called in about 15 minutes. This place... doesn't have a counter, so I felt a bit sorry for coming alone (இдஇ). I ordered the most popular menu item, the Mapo Tofu set meal. There is a spicy version of Mapo Tofu, but I chose the non-spicy one. The Mapo Tofu set meal includes salad, soup, pickled vegetables, Mapo Tofu, and rice. The portion of rice is generous♪ The Mapo Tofu had a good balance of spiciness and saltiness, making it easy to eat with rice. The Sichuan pepper flavor was a bit strong, which I personally enjoyed as I love Sichuan pepper. It numbs the mouth as you eat more, and it gets hotter and hotter, haha. The tofu was firm, which I liked! Although I wasn't very hungry, I ended up finishing it quickly! The egg drop soup had a slightly thick and gentle flavor, which paired well with the spicy Mapo Tofu. If I had to nitpick, I wish they had provided a pitcher of water as I ended up drinking a lot due to the spiciness, but I felt bad bothering the busy staff for water refills (´・ω・`). Overall, the food was delicious, but I don't think it's worth waiting for. I was satisfied with visiting once♪

On the way home, let's stop by Fukagawa from Asahikawa. Why not visit a famous restaurant with 100 names! A restaurant run by a Chinese chef—exciting, right? Arrived a bit after the opening time, so there was a wait. Not in a hurry, so waited inside the car. They have a system where they call you on your phone when your table is ready. Waited for about 30 minutes, then finally entered the restaurant. The interior had a Chinese vibe, but the waitstaff had a unique intonation in their speech, similar to how mothers talk. The back section of the restaurant seemed empty, maybe because there was only one chef or because the dishes took a while to be prepared. The locals were enjoying a Chinese lunch on their day off, creating a lively atmosphere. I ordered the B set for 1150 yen, which included fried rice, an ankake yakisoba, salad, one gyoza, and egg soup. The ankake yakisoba had plenty of vegetables, similar to sweet and sour pork. It was an average meal. I don't usually eat fried rice, but this one was delicious. The gyoza didn't come with mustard, so I used the mustard from the ankake yakisoba. The jasmine tea was self-service, adding to the Chinese dining experience. The soy sauce on the table had no Japanese labeling, which added to the ambiance. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. Thank you for the food.

This was the best Chinese food I've ever had. It was delicious and affordable. I have no complaints. The liver and garlic chives dish was amazing! It was so good that I ordered it separately after getting a set meal. Also, the salt stir-fry was delicious. I highly recommend trying these two dishes without fail.

I went to Shihou Restaurant for the first time in 4 years. It was very crowded. I thought it was a delicious restaurant, and it turned out it had been selected as one of the top 100 restaurants. I ordered the mapo tofu set meal, and my companion ordered the sweet and sour pork set meal with a side of pan-fried dumplings. The menu was exactly the same as 4 years ago, but I still enjoyed it because I have been studying and exploring my favorite dishes over the past 4 years. As for the mapo tofu, it was described on the menu as Sichuan-style and very spicy, so I opted for the regular mapo tofu. It appeared black with noticeable Sichuan pepper and dried red chili, but it was not very spicy or numbing. However, it was delicious. They used doubanjiang as the main ingredient instead of tianmianjiang and la doubanjiang, resulting in a very tasty mapo tofu. The handmade dumplings had a chewy skin and a light filling with a strong garlic chive flavor. The meat juice burst out when bitten, making them very well-made dumplings. I also tasted the sweet and sour pork, and the meat was fried until crispy, and the vegetables were perfectly fried, giving a refreshing crunch. The sweet and sour sauce was slightly sweet with a light-colored vinegar, but the balance of sweetness, sourness, and umami was perfect and very delicious. I will try a different dish next time.

I have been going to Shih Feng Hotel for a long time. The mapo tofu is very popular, but I have never tried it (lol). Also, the ankake yakisoba and gyoza are popular too. When it's crowded, the food takes a while to come out, so you need to go with plenty of time to spare. I went right when they opened, but the food took a while to come out. I wanted to eat vegetables, so I ordered the mixed vegetable set meal and xiaolongbao. I really wanted to eat spring rolls, but I thought I couldn't eat that much, so I chose xiaolongbao instead. It took about 30 minutes from ordering for the food to arrive. The mixed vegetables had Chinese cabbage, shiitake mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, mulberries, onions, wood ear mushrooms, carrots, shrimp, squid, quail eggs, and baby corn in it. The xiaolongbao was also delicious.

I visited this restaurant during my trip to Hokkaido. While traveling from Asahikawa to Sapporo, I stopped at a roadside station for a restroom break and happened to find this place on the Tabelog app. Despite having eaten Asahikawa ramen just an hour before, I couldn't resist trying their fried rice and sweet and sour pork, which were so delicious that I finished them all in no time. I would love to visit again.

I was looking for a place to have lunch in Fukagawa, so I checked out the reviews on Tabelog and decided to visit this restaurant. There was plenty of parking available and the inside of the restaurant was spacious. It was a weekday, so there were only two other groups dining. There were various options for set meals, but I decided to order the kani tamago don (crab and egg rice bowl) as a single item. My husband ordered the kani cha-han (crab fried rice). I had never tried kani tamago don before, so I was curious about what it would be like. When it arrived, the kani tamago don was covered in a generous amount of sauce, with white rice underneath. The egg on top was filled with plenty of ingredients, including shiitake mushrooms and crab. The savory sauce paired well with the crab and egg. My husband's kani cha-han had a crab leg with batter on top. The fried rice also had plenty of crab and was seasoned with a flavorful touch of pepper. We were both very satisfied with the delicious Chinese cuisine we had!

In the popular Chinese restaurant in Fukagawa City. It has also been selected as one of the "Top 100 Chinese Restaurants in East 2023". I had heard rumors that it was delicious and had been wanting to visit for a while, but I heard that it gets crowded, so I couldn't make it there. I left home a little early and arrived 15 minutes before opening, being the first in line. I was also the first to enter. There were about 5 groups of people who entered right at opening, and more followed after that. Before entering, they explained, "First, we will serve everyone a glass of water, and then take orders in order. The serving order may vary depending on the dish." I think everything they serve is delicious, but I had heard from a friend that the spicy "Mapo Tofu" was delicious. I ordered the "Sichuan Mapo Tofu Set Meal (extra spicy)" for 1,130 yen and the "Handmade Water Dumplings" for 750 yen. The seating area was quite full. The staff informed the customers that the seats were ready but it may take some time for the food to be served. Most customers didn't mind waiting. They had self-service Jasmine tea, which was delicious, so I enjoyed it while waiting. Maybe because I was the first to order, the Sichuan Mapo Tofu was served in about 15 minutes. They mentioned that the Water Dumplings would take a bit longer. Sichuan Mapo Tofu Set Meal (extra spicy) - Wow, it looks delicious and spicy! I didn't ask what was used in it, but this numbingly delicious spiciness might be Sichuan peppercorns. It was used generously. I thought it was one of the best Mapo Tofu dishes I've ever had. Of course, I enjoyed it with rice. The set meal also came with rice, soup, salad, and pickled vegetables. The egg soup with a thick texture was also delicious. Handmade Water Dumplings - It was served around the time I finished the set meal. I didn't mind that they weren't served together. The skin was chewy. When I pressed it with chopsticks, it oozed with meat juice. The filling was also plentiful. Around 12:15, I left, but customers continued to come in. This is a must-visit restaurant even if you have to wait!

Visited at 5:30 pm on April 7, 2023. "Shiho Han Ten" is located in Fukagawa City, northern Hokkaido, which is not a major city, yet it was selected as one of the top 100 Chinese restaurants in Japan for the first time. It is a popular authentic Chinese casual dining restaurant loved by locals for many years, offering genuine Chinese cuisine rather than just typical Chinese dishes found in town. After finishing work in Sapporo, I will be working in Asahikawa starting tomorrow. I made a stop in Fukagawa City on the way there, just before reaching Asahikawa, by getting off the highway. My feet surprisingly recovered quickly, and I was able to walk even without my walking stick Matsuba-kun for about 20 meters after getting out of the car. Therefore, Matsuba-kun stayed in the car this time, and I walked into the restaurant with a slight limp. Despite being one of the top 100 restaurants, it was not crowded as it had only been open for about 30 minutes. I sat at a table for four, carefully examining the menu and ordering while taking photos of the dishes. Based on reviews, the typical Chinese dishes like ramen and fried rice seemed average, so I looked for more authentic Chinese options. I found a recommended menu item in green letters under the set meals section. I ordered the "Special Set Meal ¥1,600" for today, which included 5 shrimp chili, 2 pieces of braised pork, 2 grilled gyoza, rice, salad, pickled vegetables, soup, and almond jelly. The rice was served in a large portion from the beginning. Surprisingly, it took some time for the food to be served, so even though it was not crowded, it might be wise to be prepared for a considerable wait time when it gets busy. Every dish had an authentic Chinese flavor and was delicious, especially when paired with the rice. The portion size was not as large as expected, and I finished it all quickly. It was a truly authentic Chinese dining experience. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I had heard good things about this place, so I decided to visit. The parking lot was already full. I was in the mood for fried rice and gyoza, but they didn't have that set, so I ordered the negi ramen and fried rice set instead. I gave the gyoza to my partner, and when I bit into it, the meat juice came out, which surprised me. It was the first time I had gyoza with meat juice coming out. The negi ramen had a light soup but was well-flavored. I want to try it as a standalone dish next time.

It seems to be a popular restaurant in Fukagawa. A splendid house with a spacious parking lot. You are guided to a raised tatami seating area, creating a luxurious space for solo diners. While everyone else orders set meals, A sets, fried rice and ramen, I decided to ask for "water dumplings, please." The staff repeated my order loudly, asking, "Just water dumplings?" It was a bit embarrassing. After all, they have dumpling set meals, but not just water dumplings! They do offer rice as a separate item, but I didn't want to risk getting sleepy later. They wouldn't take responsibility if I got into an accident, right? The water dumplings were delicious. Next time, I'll avoid ordering something light. Thank you for the meal!

I revisited the nostalgic town of Fukagawa, where an amazing Chinese restaurant called Shihou Hanten has opened! Local foodies are raving about it, and the food is so delicious that they forget to breathe. The restaurant has a well-equipped parking lot, but it gets full during lunchtime, so be careful. The interior has a slightly high-end feel, but the quality-price ratio is great. On this day, I ordered mapo tofu, dumplings, fried rice, and sweet and sour pork, and ended up ordering so much that I only took a photo of the sweet and sour pork (oops). Overall, I highly recommend making the trip to Fukagawa City, even though it's a bit far from Sapporo. 《strong point》 - Can't believe we can enjoy such high-quality Chinese food in this area! - Everything is delicious, but the mapo tofu is exceptional 《Improvement points》 - The location might be a bit hard to find for those not familiar with the area

Second visit. Learned that if the timing is bad, you will be waiting endlessly. Waiting is fine, but never expected to wait for almost an hour after ordering♪ Still, it was delicious and satisfying! Sunday drive. Came to Nayoro early in the morning to buy new rice. Bought rice at a roadside station and took a bath at the Chippubetsu hot spring attached to the Chikubetsu roadside station. I quite like the Chippubetsu hot spring. Lunchtime. I had my eye on a restaurant I wanted to visit on this day, which was the "Ebi-Ten" in Fukagawa City that I visited before. The only concern was the "irregular holidays." But it should be fine, it was open when I visited last time! It's Sunday today, so it should probably be open... When I arrived, they were unexpectedly closed for the day! Haha, all I could do was laugh. It was 11:27. What a dilemma. The Kamameshi restaurant on the 2nd floor of the roadside station would probably be extremely crowded. ...Will I make it to Shihou Restaurant, which opens at 11:30!? I hurried over, lucky to find a parking space for one car in front of the restaurant! Parked the car and entered the restaurant with excitement. It seemed like there were seats available, so I felt relieved. The staff informed us that there might be a delay in serving dishes due to the crowded conditions and that cooking might take some time. We agreed and placed our order as soon as the water was served, then waited. From the table, I could see the kitchen, where the chef was working hard on the cooking. Each dish was being prepared meticulously. ... The first dish seemed to be ready. It had been over 10 minutes since the restaurant opened. But... I had a bad feeling about this. It was around 11:45, and the restaurant was almost full. Those who came in later had to give up or leave their names and phone numbers to wait in their cars. No one complained. We waited. I entered at 11:32, so I was one of the last to arrive. It seemed destined for me to wait a long time as I entered. ... We waited. Looking at the kitchen, the chef was vigorously stirring a pot. "Is it ready yet!?" I couldn't say such words, it would be rude. He was cooking diligently, not slacking off. Those who came to this restaurant probably understood that, so we waited. Waited. There were four of us, and the dishes were served separately. First was the Sweet and Sour Pork set meal. (About 40 minutes after entering) Then came the Sweet and Sour Pork set meal. (About 43 minutes after entering) ... The Sweet and Sour Pork set meal looked delicious~. Those who hadn't received their dishes yet couldn't wait and started eating the Sweet and Sour Pork to satisfy their hunger. I just waited. ... It seemed like the companion who had finished the Sweet and Sour Pork set meal. Exactly one hour after entering, the Sweet and Sour Pork set meal was served. Finally, the Set B (Half Fried Rice, Half Ankake Yakisoba) was served around 1 hour and 5 minutes. Of course, no one complained. We were informed at the beginning that the order might not be followed, and the dishes would be served in order, so it would take some time. Alright, it's time to taste it! I've been waiting for an hour, and I'm starving!! ◎ Sweet and Sour Pork set meal 1,160 yen The menu prices have increased overall compared to the visit 9 months ago, but the rate of increase is less than 10%. Originally, the set meals were in the price range of around 1,000 yen, so considering the changes in the economy, it feels cheap. First, the soup. It had a slight thickness and a mysterious umami flavor. The soup was quite delicious!! The salad had a unique dressing. It was nice to have a salad as the main dish was rich in flavor. The main dish, Sweet and Sour Pork, looked hearty. When I tasted it, it was indeed hearty, but the flavors were well balanced. The whole dish had a miso flavor coating, and it was not too oily or heavy. The taste of the dish made me want to eat more rice. This dish would go well with beer. Before I knew it, I couldn't stop eating with my chopsticks. I kept eating more and more. I took a break to eat some pickled vegetables, which had a spicy and tangy taste, and it was also delicious. And then the rice. I read somewhere that they use local rice from Fukagawa. I love the concept of using locally sourced ingredients, but the rice was so delicious that it didn't matter. The rice was of high quality and extremely delicious. As a rice lover, I would say that the rice at this restaurant is superb. The cooking was also perfect. They serve a large portion of rice, but the Sweet and Sour Pork itself was delicious, and I felt like having a second helping. The additional rice is 160 yen for a small portion and 200 yen for a large portion. If it weren't for the "tasting" sharing from my companion, I would have ordered a small portion of rice for a refill.
