Once again, I visited the local spot of Obihiro, the Hirokoji street. Located on the north side of Hirokoji, on the west side of the adult spot, Inari Koji. I was greeted by bright and cheerful staff, and my body was relaxed. I enjoyed a cold beer. I indulged in thick slices of sashimi and your favorite fried dish. I also had a light-flavored Tokachi wagyu tendon stew, which left me with a tipsy smile. The manager's warm hospitality and the energetic presence of the owner, who is still actively working in the restaurant, make this a comforting and lively place, just like a family home. It's a great place to relax.

I went to Ryouma-san! It's my first visit, the second place of the day. It's just two doors down from Aniya Nagai-san, so it's convenient. I made a reservation here. We were guided to a private seating area and each ordered what we wanted to eat. We had today's sashimi, bluefin tuna for 980 yen, horse sashimi for 880 yen, grilled skewers of Belted Galloway pork from Obihiro for 250 yen, heart for 180 yen, tripe for 180 yen, and octopus fritters for 680 yen. The bluefin tuna was definitely delicious, very tasty! The horse sashimi was also delicious! It was fresh and paired well with pickled ginger. The pork skewers were large and although a bit pricey, they were worth it for their deliciousness. The heart was thick but tender and had a great bounce to it! Delicious tripe with a great texture. The octopus fritters had a great crunch, and the combination of red pickled ginger and deep-fried batter was unique. It's like takoyaki with mayo sauce, and of course, it was delicious. The sake looked delicious, so I started with one cup and couldn't stop. Oh well, 2 cups, 3 cups... The food was so delicious that it made the sake go down smoothly. All the dishes were incredibly delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I used to visit Ryoma-san a few times when I was in Obihiro. This was my first time visiting since they moved to the city center. They also served us Japanese sake as a service, which made me feel like I got a good deal. Thank you for the meal♪

I went to Ryouma because my friend wanted to eat seafood. The sashimi was delicious as always. The tsubu (whelk) was the best. I also like the burdock sticks. They are currently serving asparagus, and the grilled asparagus was fresh and tasty. This restaurant is loved by regular customers.

Today we used this restaurant for a group reservation. This place has a wonderful atmosphere where regular customers gather. Is it an izakaya or a small dishes restaurant? There was a baseball game on TV at the counter. And there were three private rooms with sunken kotatsu tables. We used two of the three rooms connected for 10 people. We had all-you-can-drink with a set menu. No matter what you order here, it's safe to say it will be good, so it's a good idea to go for the all-you-can-drink option for group reservations. The food was delicious as shown in the pictures. I will definitely go back again!

The extremely popular izakaya on the outskirts of Obihiro has moved to the city center! Today, I went to visit the restaurant that I had tried to go to as soon as I returned but found it closed. Yes, it's the super popular restaurant that used to be on the outskirts. I had been a regular customer at this restaurant since it was on the outskirts, and it was quite popular. When I heard that the restaurant had moved to the city center, I searched and finally found it! I visited the restaurant with high expectations, thinking that it would come out to the city center and show off its superior taste, kicking out the competition. Ryoma was located on the west side of Yanagiduki Honten. Ryoma Information Address: 14 Nishi 1-jo Minami, Obihiro City Phone: 0155-21-6622 Fax 0155-23-6558 Closed on Sundays and holidays Business hours: 17:30-23:30 First, I ordered a beer and observed the inside of the restaurant. Despite it being a weekday, it was quite crowded... with 6 seats at the counter and 3 small raised seating areas for 4-8 people each. The staff had reduced significantly compared to the previous outskirts location, with only the owner, his wife, and their son running the place, but the crowds remained the same. The menu isn't overly fancy. Ryoma's specialty is definitely sake. Among them, there is a great selection of sake from Tosa. This little appetizer was amazing. The burdock sticks for 320 yen that I always ordered when I came to Ryoma before... but the oil was a bit heavy... the frying was quite oily... I used to find it very delicious, but this time it was a bit... too oily, so to refresh my mouth, I ordered the yam vinegar for 350 yen. The casually cut yam mixed with a clever lemon flavor refreshes the palate. The cutting of the yam was a bit sloppy though... When it comes to Ryoma, it's sake and sashimi! Yes. The best thing about this place was the sashimi. Eating sashimi here would make it hard to eat it anywhere else. So, to complement the sashimi, let's order some sake. This time, I chose the Tosatsuru Junmai Ginjo for 750 yen. Here it is! This is the sashimi that made me addicted before... but... the taste was quite disappointing this time (tears). The cutting was also a bit like "is this it?" (sobbing) What happened? I felt like asking (crying loudly). This time, I asked for a few recommended sashimi dishes to be served... and this? I was quite shocked by the Ryoma I visited after a long time (tears). It was quite a shock that made me want to ask "What happened?" The move from the outskirts to the city center made me think, "Wow, the other city center restaurants are in trouble!" but... the staff, as before, mainly the wife and husband, are running the place, so the taste should not have changed, but... with only three people working compared to the time when they had several employees, it was clear that they were overwhelmed and irritated... Can't they fully utilize their skills under these circumstances?... It was quite disappointing for me. Well, it's wrong to judge based on just this one visit... No, I'd rather think it was wrong. I visited Ryouma with my friend on this day. It was my first time, as my friend had been to this suburban restaurant before for a party. The place has now moved to the back of the Yurizuki Odori main store (Nakadori). I had heard it was a popular spot, so I made a reservation for a weekday visit (at the counter). The interior of the restaurant is small, with counter seats and three sunken kotatsu tables. We started with a draft beer for 500 yen. The dishes we ordered included: Oma natural bluefin tuna chutoro for 980 yen, morning squid for 680 yen, burdock sticks for 320 yen, chicken and bacon skewers for 160 yen each, Nekoshibori junmai sake (dry) for 750 yen, Tsukune for 230 yen, and Camembert sticks (3 pieces) for 300 yen. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was cozy. Overall, the prices were a bit high, but it's a good option for those who prefer a more homey atmosphere over a typical izakaya. The restaurant was busy with reservations by the time we left. It was a pleasant dining experience.

I went drinking with four cousins. It was a recommended place by my cousin, and I was surprised by how well done it was. Apparently, it used to be a convenience store, but they changed business and opened this restaurant. The owner's wife is from Kochi... The food is not cheap, but if you want to eat delicious food to your heart's content once a month, this place is perfect. They have a spacious parking lot, making it suitable for groups who have designated drivers or those who rely on driving services. The attentive service from the owner, his wife, and the staff is wonderful. Rather than chasing after cheap prices only, you will be much more satisfied here with the service. I hope I don't praise it too much and end up not being able to get in next time I go there (laughs). To all the locals and anyone who considers themselves a proud Obihiro resident, give it a try!

This was my second visit to the restaurant. It's quite difficult to get a reservation, so I ended up sitting at the counter. However, I was quickly moved to a sunken kotatsu table when it became available, and I appreciated the attentive service from the staff. I really like the burdock root tempura and tilefish tempura. The ramen salad was also delicious. The chicken karaage was just average. I don't usually eat tilefish, but I can enjoy it at Ryouma's. The sashimi from my previous visit was quite tasty as well. The restaurant always seems busy and thriving. It's a bit on the expensive side, so I would like to come on special occasions. Despite being moved to a sunken kotatsu table, it was a bit cold.

Near my house, there is a new izakaya called Ryouma. Every time I passed by the front of the restaurant, I always thought, "Wow, it's always so crowded with a full parking lot, it must be popular. I hope to go there someday." And finally, the time came when I could go, so I went. The inside of the restaurant was full of customers, but there was an empty raised seating area in the back. I don't remember everything we ordered because we ordered a variety of dishes. Among them, what left the biggest impression on me was the dish made with Inca Awakening (I forgot the name...). Everything we ate was delicious, but it was quite cold in our seating area, and towards the end, we were shivering while eating, so that was the only disappointing part. However, I plan to go again when it's warmer.
