If you head a little south from Maruyama Back Street, you will find the BAR Cradle standing solemnly. The atmosphere, including the passage from the outside to the inside of the store, exudes the mood of a hidden adult retreat. The interior of Cradle is lit with moderate lighting, not too bright or too dark, with lighting, neon signs, and a back bar illuminating the space. The concrete, industrial-style interior is decorated with appropriate furnishings, creating a cool and stylish atmosphere. Cradle is a casual bar with a noble and elegant feel, run by a lovely couple. The TV shows only images, and the background music consists of well-selected songs with a good mood and tempo, making it a relaxing place to enjoy cocktails and conversation. I only caught a glimpse of the Tanqueray No. 10 being used for a gin and tonic, but the gin and tonic was expertly prepared. It had a good aroma and taste. The Chorizo from Hokkaido caught my attention as something unique to this place, so I decided to order it. I had originally planned to order spare ribs or something else. The Chorizo came with eight pieces, which was quite a generous portion. I enjoyed a few pieces while they were still hot off the grill, and then slowly savored the rest with some pickles on the side. The combination of the meat's umami flavor and the slightly spicy taste and texture was delightful. It was delicious and full of flavor. I wanted to enjoy it with beer, but I had to save it for the next day as I had work. I had the Charm Charge cocktail with mixed nuts, which I nibbled on while enjoying the drink. I didn't see the process of making the Martini with Beefeater, but it was served in a chilled mixing glass with olives on a cocktail pick. The olive was seedless, and there didn't seem to be any lemon peel added for fragrance. Nevertheless, it was a delightful moment where the enjoyable conversation blended well with the delicious flavors. I had planned to stay for about an hour, but I ended up having such a good time that I stayed longer than expected, chatting with the lovely couple running the bar. I didn't ask about the origin of the name "Cradle," but in astrology, it is a composite aspect, likely meaning "cradle" in English. As I stepped outside, the quiet and peaceful atmosphere of the surrounding area reaffirmed that Cradle is truly an ideal hidden gem of a bar with its charming menu, delicious cocktails, and a genre that has become a favorite spot to visit again.
