After enjoying the delicious ramen at "Wabi-suke" again in August 2022, it was time for the usual visit to "Co-op Sapporo." I'm sure you can guess why. "Wabi-suke" finally managed to secure a parking space in front of their store, but in the past, when I first started working, I used to park at "Co-op Sapporo" every day for my commute. The store manager back then was very laid-back. And between the current "Wabi-suke" and "Co-op Sapporo," there used to be "Morizumi Seimen," where they made ramen noodles daily. So, I always did my shopping at "Co-op Sapporo." The highlight of the day was the corn, specifically the "Eime Gold" from Ebetsu, priced at 120 yen per ear. I've been enjoying corn a lot this summer.

Recently, I have seen many reviews about MyRebi's "Super" so I decided to visit the store's page. This "Motomachi store" is a landmark in the Motomachi area that will soon celebrate its half-century anniversary. The store has been around since my high school days, and when I started working, my company was nearby. I used to commute by car back then and was allowed to use this Co-op Sapporo's spacious parking lot (of course, with permission), it was a peaceful time. Before the parking lot became paid, it used to be the venue for the "Yosakoi Soran" festival in June and the Bon dance festival in the summer, making it a beloved spot in the community. Even now, when I visit my favorite ramen shop "Chafusuke" next door, I use this parking lot and it has become a tradition to stop by for shopping on my way back. The "Co-op Sapporo's assorted eggs" for 138 yen are eggs from a dedicated poultry farm contracted by the store, which provides a high level of peace of mind. The "red salmon" is from Alaska, and this year, the majority of fish caught in Erimo were "amberjack". If even Hokkaido's representative fish like salmon become scarce due to the record low catches of "saury" and "squid", the natural blessings of Hokkaido will diminish. The Motomachi area has also undergone significant changes, but I hope the Co-op continues to thrive as a landmark store in the community.
