After returning to Obihiro from the Ikeda Wine Castle Petit Shopping Tour at 10:35 am, we headed to Rokkatei Obihiro Main Store. Luckily, there was one empty parking space in front of the store. The first floor of the store was already bustling with shoppers as it opened at 9 am. Our goal was to visit the "cafe" on the second floor, which opened at 11 am. We managed to secure the second spot in line for the cafe, with only one other group waiting before us. The cafe menu included items like pizza, beef stew, pancakes, parfaits, and various cakes. We noticed that the "Original Three-Piece Set" we wanted to order was not listed on the cafe menu, but we were assured we could still order it. We ordered the set along with some iced coffee. The set included a delicious ice cream sandwich, a cheese dessert, and a crispy pie, all of which were delightful. We also experienced using a paper straw for the first time. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we enjoyed the unique treats offered at Rokkatei Obihiro Main Store.

I came to this shop looking for the crispy pie that can only be found in Hokkaido, but ended up getting drawn in by the menu of the café and had a hearty lunch (lol). I had hashed beef rice, cuppe (bread), freshly baked croissant, and soft-serve ice cream. The hashed beef rice had a classic taste, the cuppe had a crispy outer layer and fluffy inside making it very delicious, and the freshly baked croissant was so crispy that I finished it in no time! And the soft-serve ice cream had a refreshing aftertaste with no unnecessary ingredients added. Everything was made with the goodness of Hokkaido's ingredients shining through. If I have the chance to go to Obihiro again, I will definitely go back to this place! (o・・o)/~

I visited Rokkatei in Obihiro, Hokkaido. I arrived a bit late, around 11:15 am, and most of the seats were already taken. The restaurant is popular among locals and tourists for its bright and clean interior, friendly service, and delicious food. I ordered the Strawberry Milk, Gratin, and Pancakes. The Strawberry Milk was as expected, a tasty drink with strawberry jam mixed in milk. The Gratin was surprisingly small, but it was delicious. The Pancakes had a nostalgic sweetness and were perfect with maple syrup and butter. I also wanted to try the Croissant, but had to leave. Overall, Rokkatei is a highly recommended restaurant that gives a sense of being in Tokachi.

This is a cafe on the second floor of Rokkatei Obihiro Main Store. It's a spacious and bright space with a white interior. It's popular so there might be a wait, but you can write your name and do some shopping on the first floor while you wait. You can also order fresh cakes on the first floor. I ordered a cake, a crispy pie, and coffee. My husband ordered zenzai. The crispy pie was really crispy and delicious. The cake had a taste that children would like. The zenzai was incredibly delicious, maybe that was the best choice. Coffee is all-you-can-drink, which is a nice service!

No mixing soft serve for 350 yen. Mori from Obihiro for 900 yen. Hot coffee for 380 yen. I was torn, but ordered the limited edition ricotta pancake only available at the main store. It takes 20 minutes to bake, so I opted for the soft serve available only on weekends and holidays. The soft serve had a generous amount and a sophisticated flavor. It goes really well with the coffee here. I really love the coffee here. The free refills are also fantastic. The ricotta pancake is not a fluffy souffle, but more like an omelette with lots of egg whites. It's small in size but just the right amount.

Lunch in Obihiro at the cafe of Rokkatei. If you buy sweets on the first floor, you can go straight to the second floor. The greenery outside the store and inside the store match well and look beautiful. The cushions inside the store have the same design as Rokkatei's paper bags. By the way, the designer, Naoyuki Sakamoto, is a descendant of Ryoma Sakamoto. I learned this from TV before. I entered the store around 11:30, and the store was about 80% full, mainly with local housewives and tourists. I ordered beef stew with bread and for dessert, I chose the Fromage Blanc (Tachinatsu). ■ Beef Stew + Bread It had a sour taste and was rich. The ingredients were onions, carrots, diced beef, and green beans. The diced beef was tender! ■ Fromage Blanc (Tachinatsu) Cream cheese with whipped cream and adzuki beans. The matcha powder is sprinkled by the staff when served, but I asked for very little. I don't usually eat much matcha flavor. It felt like "then don't order it," but I was curious about the combination of cream cheese and adzuki beans, so I ordered it. It is a quiet and precious space where you can enjoy sweets at a leisurely pace. The prices may seem a bit high for Obihiro, but considering what you would pay in Tokyo, it's not unreasonable at all. Please note that they only provide paper straws for cold drinks, so if you're not a fan of the taste of paper, it's best to bring your own straw.

I couldn't decide between the souffle pancakes and the hot cheese cake, but I ended up choosing the latter. I ordered the Hot Cheese Cake (500 yen) and after about 20 minutes, it arrived, wobbling and fluffy. The Parmesan cheese aroma was delightful. The inside was warm and fluffy, with a hint of lemon adding a nice touch. Before eating, I thought it might be more like a savory cake based on the appearance and aroma, but it turned out to be a sweet cheese cake. The top was crispy from being torched, giving it a unique texture. The interior of the shop is unified in white and light green. The rounded chairs and soft atmosphere were charming. The light green color matched the scarves worn by some of the staff, which was a nice touch. Despite the view of a coin parking lot from the window, watching the roofs of passing buses made for a luxurious and relaxing time. In the evening, the lighting is dimmed and candles are lit, creating a lovely ambiance.

This time, I had coffee and Mont Blanc. The Mont Blanc had a light sponge texture with delicious chestnut cream. There are chestnuts on top of the mountain. I think the quality of this cake, priced at less than 300 yen, is sufficient. Depending on the timing, I will visit again.

The interior is refreshing with a white color scheme. I thought it would be too crowded on a Sunday afternoon, but luckily I managed to get a seat. Since I had already eaten lunch, I ordered a dessert. I have a weakness for limited edition items, so I ordered the May limited edition "Maple Mitsumame". It consisted of plain and maple-flavored agar jelly topped with maple syrup, blueberries, and whipped cream. The natural sweetness and the balance of the blueberries' sweet and sour flavor were excellent. Even though I'm not a big fan of sweet things, I couldn't resist and finished it all. Obihiro Forest (winter) for 520 yen (tax included) - A sweet with rare cheesecake, large red beans, and sweetly cooked pumpkin. It seems to be an original product of the Obihiro main store. On the other hand, drinks used to be extremely cheap, and many were surprised by the low prices, but they have gradually increased over time. Coffee for 360 yen is still reasonably priced compared to Tokyo, but the exceptional value for money is no longer as noticeable as before. Cafe au lait for 430 yen is not a latte but coffee with milk added. It's not something you see often in Tokyo these days. I would be happy if the menu included espresso or latte, but...

This is Obihiro. I used the JR Hokkaido LOVE Round Trip Ticket for a solo trip! I ate a lot, walked around, and stayed for one night and two days. Actually, it was just one day. First, I came to Rokkatei Tea Room! No matter how many times I come, there is always a line, so I just bought from the shop downstairs. This time, I arrived 10 minutes before opening, but I was 16th in line. With this waiting time, I should be able to sit down on the first round. It's about to open in 3 minutes. When I sat down, it was immediately full. Ricotta Pancake 680 yen, Coffee 360 yen, Refills allowed. After about 10 minutes, it was full and customers were coming up and down the stairs one after another. It's really popular! The coffee has no strong taste, a little deep with a hint of acidity, an elegant taste. My frugal nature kicked in, and I had three refills. The Ricotta Pancake is so fluffy! Delicious! It melts in your mouth! And the price is amazing for pancakes. I topped it with plenty of syrup, and enjoyed it with whipped cream. It was so delicious that I want to go again. For lunch on this day, I decided to change things up and visit the cafe at Rokkatei in the city. Although I had passed by the front of the store many times, I had never actually gone in before. I had tried to go once on a holiday afternoon to have tea alone, but it was too crowded so I gave up. This time, on a weekday during the day, I was able to get in smoothly with my colleagues. When it came to food, the choices were basically pizza or beef stew. We chose the beef stew without hesitation. They use Shihoro beef as the main ingredient. You can choose between beef stew and tongue stew, and we chose beef stew. Both were 860 yen. The stew had three pieces of tender meat in it. I personally believe that the best part should be saved for last, so I sipped the stew first and then mixed in the white rice. The surface of the white rice was dyed with the color of the stew, which is unique to beef stew. The stew had a slightly strong acidity to it. Wine? Tomato? acidity? After the meal, I ordered an additional coffee. Well, it was more like I ordered it at the same time as the meal, but it was brought to us at the beginning. I guess coffee is all-you-can-drink from the start, so you can drink a lot. The surprising part came when we paid the bill. When I received the change coins, the server moved the rectangular coin tray left and right, up and down a few times, and the coins on the tray were neatly arranged! The elegant server also added to the experience, but I was truly impressed by this small gesture.

Both are cheesecakes, but they are seasonal limited editions so I ordered both. The Hot Cheesecake has a simple taste, while the Premium 25 is moist. I ordered the Original Blend Tea again because it was delicious before, but this time it had a strong bitterness that I didn't like. It may have changed its blend since last time. It tends to be crowded on weekends and often full, so you may have to wait a bit.

There was a "full" sign, so I wrote my name and waited for a bit. You can go to the café from two places, either the stairs or the elevator. Luckily, the previous customer had just left, so they cleaned up and I was able to enter right away. - Strawberry Juice: 510 yen A classic drink at Rokkatei Café! When I first tried it, I was amazed by the intense strawberry flavor. Even though it's not included in the drink set, I recommend trying it when you visit the café. It's extremely strawberry-flavored. - Hotcakes: 560 yen Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. They are very generous with the syrup, so when you pour it all, a pool of syrup forms. But the hotcakes absorb it all, and the lower hotcake becomes a lovely brown color. With butter on the side, you can enjoy the sweet and salty combination. I highly recommend this. It's a very typical hotcake, but with a taste that you can't replicate at home. - Ricotta Pancakes: 650 yen I was surprised to see these on the menu at Rokkatei! It takes about 20 minutes to be ready (hotcakes arrive faster). They are quite soft and slightly undercooked. They come with not-too-sweet whipped cream and syrup. You can really taste the flavor of the ricotta cheese, with a hint of the cheese's saltiness. But personally, I prefer the hotcakes... (whispering) I'm not a fan of the undercooked texture. Upon entering, I was directed to an available seat and ordered the Chicken and Shimeji Cream Pizza for 815 yen (tax included) with a drink set for 306 yen, which included a hot coffee, and the Ricotta Pancakes for 650 yen. The staff informed me that they would bring out the dishes as soon as they were ready. Surprisingly, the pancakes arrived first after about 23 minutes. They looked fluffy and delicious, and I couldn't help but feel like a girl as I admired them. The pancakes were made using meringue, giving them a fluffy and soufflé-like texture. The batter itself was not too sweet, so drizzling maple syrup generously enhanced the flavor. The pancakes were served warm, which added to their appeal. The cream with the coffee was also delightful, with a pure and unsweetened taste that I enjoyed. Once I finished the pancakes, the Chicken and Shimeji Cream Pizza arrived. The pizza, cut into easy-to-eat pieces, had a strong garlic flavor that could double as a pasta sauce. The dough had a nice wheat flavor and the breadcrumbs on top were crispy. The price of 356 yen for a single coffee, or 306 yen for a set, may seem a bit high for long-time customers, but it's still reasonable compared to other modern cafes. On the first day, I took the first JAL flight to Obihiro and arrived at the station around 10:30 am, giving me about 2 hours of free time before work started. After killing some time at the station, I treated my colleague to a famous Tokachi pork bowl at "Hagetengu Nagasakiya Store" inside Nagasakiya Obihiro Store. I opted for a tempura bowl and enjoyed a satisfying lunchtime. After finishing lunch around 11:30 am, we still had plenty of time. So, I took my colleague to the Rokkatei Obihiro Main Store on Nishi Nijo Street (Hirabara Street). We decided to have coffee time on the 2nd floor of the store after lunch. Rokkatei is a well-known confectionery company in Tokachi. They offer great employee benefits, such as subsidizing up to 200,000 yen for group trips with 6 or more employees, and ensuring full annual paid leave. Another confectionery company, Cranberry, is also popular in Tokachi. In the past, I used to judge people carrying Rokkatei bags as first-timers to Tokachi, those with Yuki Tsuki bags as repeat visitors, and those with Cranberry bags as locals. Cranberry now has a store in Esta inside Obihiro Station, making it more accessible. In the NHK morning drama "Natsuzora," a confectionery company called "Setsugetsu" appeared, but it was unclear if it represented Rokkatei or Yuki Tsuki. The inspiration for the popular "An Butter Sand" treat is believed to be Yuki Tsuki's, not Rokkatei's. We arrived at the Rokkatei store around 11:40 am and enjoyed a relaxed coffee time on the 2nd floor. The store was decorated in a Christmas theme, and the staff were very polite. We ordered coffee with almond chocolate and spent about 30 minutes there before heading to the 1st floor to try the famous crispy pie.

Before moving, I adjusted the time at Rokkatei Tea Room. This is my second time here, and it really feels calming. Perhaps it's because it's a weekday, but the relaxed atmosphere is nice. There was a child celebrating their birthday, and the staff sang a celebratory song. Such heartwarming scenes are also lovely. I had coffee and chestnut pie. The pie had a whole chestnut inside and was delicious with its natural sweetness. It's not too crowded, so it's okay to spread out a PC (maybe because it's a weekday?), and I'd like to visit again.

It is a representative company in Obihiro, and they give back their profits to the community through art museums and other venues. Their products are very popular due to their good taste. This café is not only popular among tourists, but also a relaxing spot for local women. I just found out that with 86 points on the Rokkatei point card, you can access a special lounge for regular customers. This kind of secret place sparks curiosity and makes you want to explore it. I will definitely try to accumulate points and visit the lounge. This time, I had an iced coffee and ricotta pancake. The ricotta pancake was fluffy and not heavy on the stomach. The large window with sunlight streaming in and the greenery outside created a very pleasant atmosphere. I think this is a must-visit place when in Obihiro.
