However, the ticket machine near the entrance was not moving smoothly and was stuck. Since I am a mobile user, I ignored it and entered the restaurant. I decided to order something that would exceed 1000 yen, so I chose the "Thick Pork Yakiniku Set with 3 Pieces - 890 yen" and added a miso soup upgrade for 190 yen, bringing the total to 1080 yen. I didn't think too much and just wanted to order something I liked, but it wasn't that simple. If I had come with someone else, it might have been easier, but unfortunately I was alone. After waiting for almost 10 minutes, my order was finally called. The rice portion was large, but not impressively large like Matsuya's standard size. I thought about getting the extra-large portion, but now I slightly regret not choosing it. The amount of meat was about the same as three pieces, so it wasn't very exciting. The miso soup was the usual. When I started eating, I realized that the pork lacked juiciness. It had a decent thickness, but it felt dry, maybe because it was overcooked or precooked. It was not bad, but feeling the meat juices would have made it tastier. The spicy sauce was not spicy, which was a bit disappointing. However, it might be a safe choice for most people. The rice was cooked perfectly, better than Matsunoya next door. It felt more delicious, even though it's the same ingredients, maybe the rice cooker is different.

Matuya's hamburgers are usually as good as those from a specialty hamburger restaurant. They are usually firm and have a crunchy texture, but this limited-time menu's hamburger was a bit softer and seemed to use more binder. The sauce was delicious, but the hamburger itself lacked the usual texture. I wonder if they changed the ingredients due to high prices? Matuya's hamburgers are best when they have that crunchy texture, so I hope they go back to the original recipe.

I'm tired and hungry, so I decided to go to Matsuya, specifically the Sapporo Station front store. I ordered the Cheese Beef Curry Vegetable Set (large size) using the ticket machine. It was ready in about 5 minutes, so I picked it up at the counter. The large portion was quite filling. The Cheese Beef Curry was spicy and the cheese added a nice touch. The salad and miso soup were delicious. Matsuya always gives complimentary miso soup when you order a beef bowl in the store. I have to wake up at 5 am tomorrow, so I'll have one drink after taking a bath when I get home. Have a nice day!

The pork belly is generously coated with a sweet and savory sauce, which also seeps into the rice. Even though I would have preferred bread instead of rice so I could enjoy the sauce after eating the hamburger, since this is Matsuya, I ate it with rice. With just miso soup, it felt like a Japanese meal. A vegetable salad also came with it, and when I added barbecue sauce from the table seasoning, it became a meat feast. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Matsuya along Sapporo Ekimae-dori in Chuo-ku, Sapporo. It's been a while since I last visited. It's 9:30 am on a weekday. The restaurant is not crowded, with only a few people eating. As soon as you enter the entrance, there are two ticket machines on the right side, which are easy to use with touch panels and photos displayed. You can even pay with electronic money now. I tried to pay before choosing my side dish, but I got an error when I scanned the QR code, and the staff kindly helped me out. Thank you, staff member. I always decide on the same breakfast, the Sausage and Egg set. There are two water and genmaicha machines for self-service. You take your ticket to your seat, and when your meal is ready, you pick it up at the counter and return the tray to the designated area when you finish eating. The Sausage and Egg set costs 420 yen and you can choose from side dishes like mini Gyudon, natto, tororo, mini curry, and more. Was it always like this before? It's been a few years, and it feels different. The half-cooked sunny-side-up egg is delicious when mixed with rice and a little soy sauce. The Gyudon has a rich flavor, and the variety of side dishes like seaweed, pickled cabbage, and miso soup make me happy. Matsuya has introduced various new menu items, which is surprising! By the way, today from 10 am, the Gorochiki Curry will be available.

*I went to a restaurant alone and faced a dilemma between choosing the Bolognese & Mascarpone-style W sauce hamburger set and the Massaman curry temptation. In the end, I chose the hamburger set because they offered a mini-sized rice option for only 600 yen. I'm not a big fan of cheese, but the cheese on the hamburger looked like grated yam to me. I had to remind myself that it was cheese before eating it. However, it was delicious. I ended up using a spoon to eat the rice with the hamburger and sauce. Overall, it was a tasty meal. I feel like I have become a follower of Matsuya, as their food never disappoints me.*

Finally arrived at the restaurant. I paid 830 yen for the vegetable set of the Massaman curry that was popular in reviews using PayPay. After waiting for 5-6 minutes, my number was called, and I went to pick up my order at the counter. The main dish was the Massaman curry with plenty of chicken chunks! The soup was delicious with a mild coconut and spice flavor, making it easy to eat. I changed the rice to raw vegetables halfway through, and I found a poster promoting low-carb options in the store. Maybe if I had chosen that option, I could have gotten it for 730 yen without rice? It was impossible to make that decision at the ticket machine, but overall, I was satisfied with the Massaman curry. Thank you for the meal.

I checked Matsuya's website after a long time, and I couldn't resist when I saw that the Massaman curry, which I lost in the third round last time, was back. While my family was eating natto rice, I had a Gyudon. I also received a raw egg from my family and had it with the Gyudon. It's nice to be able to have the classics. It was delicious. Now, off to Otaru.

When you're short on time and have limited options on weekends, this place is a reliable choice. Always open, quick, and affordable. The beef bowl with pickles and egg set costs 470 yen. Sometimes I go for the grated yam dishes, but usually stick to this. Crack the egg directly into the bowl, add plenty of shichimi and pickled ginger, and mix well. I also mix in the pickles halfway through. This is my go-to order.

Suddenly craving for meat and feeling extremely hungry, I headed to Matsuya. I was drawn to the poster advertising the Butter Chicken Curry, so I decided to order it along with a side of fresh vegetables. The curry was generously filled with chunks of chicken, giving it a sense of value. Matsuya's curry department put a lot of effort into creating this dish. It had a mild flavor with a hint of garam masala, making it easy to enjoy the chicken. When eaten with rice, the curry's spiciness seemed to diminish due to the plump and glossy rice. I found that enjoying the dish without rice allowed me to appreciate the spices more. For those who enjoy spices, the curry may seem too mild. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

Today is another day off, but once a month, or every 5 weeks, I had some business near the prefectural office and left the facility around 9:30 am. As usual, it's a bit of an awkward time. Well, cafes like Doutor or Starbucks should be open... But I haven't had breakfast, so maybe I'll have a meal here... So, after a long time, I visited this place. Actually, I came here aiming for "Yamagata dashi" (laughs). It's still before 10 o'clock, but there are quite a few customers. I went to the ticket machine and selected the "morning menu" -> "sausage and egg set meal" -> "choice of side dish", but... it's not available!? There is no "Yamagata dashi" (ノД`)シクシク... Is it not available this year? When I searched on Google, words like "Matsuya Yamagata dashi 2021" came up... Oh well, I'll choose "tororo" for the side dish. By the way, the only change I noticed is that before, if you wanted to drink water, you had to use a paper cup for self-service, but now it has been changed to a plastic cup.
