35F Restaurant & Bar "SKY J" Buffet Hotel The ikura at this buffet was delicious, unlike many others that often have an unnatural taste. I highly recommend the blue cheese from Kuromatsu-uchi town! While many blue cheeses tend to be overly salty, this one had a mild and rich flavor, making it a fantastic choice. It's a popular item for furusato tax donations. It had been over 10 years since I last stayed here, and I was impressed by the hotel staff's (especially at the lobby) polite and high-level service. I'm not sure about the exact price as it was included in the accommodation package, but I saw online that it's around 3,300 yen. On a side note, as someone living in the Kanto region, I was surprised by how cold the tap water was. The water in the sinks I used felt like it was from early winter in Kanto. Perhaps the land is colder below the surface. I wondered if this affects the cooking temperatures as well.

Farewell party at the workplace with a large platter plan including Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes with 120 minutes of all-you-can-drink for 8000 yen. Highlights included the sliced raw yellowtail with ponzu jelly and aromatic vegetables, Asian spring rolls, shrimp and egg in chili sauce, assorted steamed egg custard, clam, scallion, and ginger stewed noodles, Galician chestnut pork roast with Charcutière sauce, sushi rolls (bonito, flying fish roe, crab), and dessert. Overall, no complaints about the banquet menu.

Today's lunch was a bento box with a mix of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes. The rice was mixed with pickled vegetables and salmon, which was delicious. The bento box included sashimi, steak, and shumai, offering a variety of flavors. The miso soup had large clams, which was satisfying. For dessert, there was almond jelly and red bean dessert, which was not too sweet. The meal was filling and I enjoyed the beautiful view of Sapporo from the 36th floor banquet hall at JR Tower Hotel Nikko. Overall, it was a satisfying lunch experience.

This is an annual banquet event. It is a fee-based event, but the actual payment amount is unknown. The event starts with a champagne toast. Here is a review of the dishes served: - Smoked duck salad and shoestring potatoes: The smoked duck was delicious, but the shoestring potatoes were cold and not very good. It's understandable since it's a large dish. - Yam dumplings with ankake sauce: The taste was not as strong as expected. - Flounder, squid, and octopus ajillo with baguette: This was warm and good. The ajillo was mild in flavor, but the baguette was tasty. - Crab and corn soup: I couldn't taste the crab with my unrefined palate. - Pork fillet piccata with rice galette: It lacked a sense of specialness. - Braised yellowtail with daikon and chili pepper: I forgot to take a photo. It wasn't very spicy. - Cold thin udon topped with chicken tempura: Having a cold dish from the start of the banquet is a good idea.
