I had a job in Atsubetsu Ward, Sapporo City. There was a ramen restaurant called White Bear nearby that I really wanted to try, but I found something I really wanted at the convenience store, so I went there instead. It's a well-known convenience store called "Seicomart," which originated in Hokkaido. For those outside of Hokkaido, you may not be familiar with it. They are a long-established convenience store that Hokkaido residents are very grateful for. They even distribute newspapers like supermarkets do, and they were one of the first to introduce their own brand of affordable PET bottles. They offer a variety of low-cost and small-portion deli items that are popular with singles and light eaters. They are a convenience store company full of ideas. Generally, major convenience store chains do not open stores in rural areas. Even if there is a 24-hour convenience store in a depopulated area, no one visits because the elderly do not go out at night. Therefore, it is not profitable. However, "Seicomart" always opens stores in such depopulated areas. When I used to live in a super depopulated area with a population of about 1,500 due to work, my single junior exclaimed, "Seikoma is coming!" He was so excited. I still remember that (laughs). He said, "Because, Senpai! It's not open 24 hours, but it's open at night! They have bento boxes too!" He decided that Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays were "convenience store days" and made sure to visit the convenience store even if he didn't need to buy anything to not forget the "urban atmosphere" (laughs). This was really serious for Hokkaido residents in remote areas. The oasis for Hokkaido residents, "Seikoma," had a really great system called "Hot Chef." It is a system where they sell freshly cooked bento boxes, onigiri, and other items cooked in-store. Although convenience store bento boxes are convenient, the bento boxes from a certain major bento chain store called "Hoto Motomoto" are delicious. That's because they are freshly made, not pre-made. "Seicomart" was one of the first to introduce this system, "Hot Chef." *Some stores do not have Hot Chef. Among them, the "Katsudon" is excellent! It used to be "one coin" before the tax increase. *Currently 514 yen including tax The pork cutlet is tender and the sauce is delicious. The rice soaked in the sauce is also extremely delicious! It can rival the pork cutlet bowl at a Japanese restaurant. The onigiri is also one size larger than convenience store onigiri, and they are well made, making them easy to eat and delicious. In terms of customer satisfaction with convenience stores, "Seicomart" scored 71.8 points and won first place for the fourth consecutive year. *2014 Service Industry Productivity Council survey *2nd place: Seven-Eleven (69.7 points), 3rd place: Lawson (67.0 points) Amazing! Our generation abbreviates "Seicomart" as "Seikoma" or "Seikoma" with affection. However, young people these days apparently call it "Sekoma" (´Д`) However, I am definitely against this! Because, "Sekoma" sounds bad! It seems to be an abbreviation for "cheap mart." I still want you to call Seicomart with affection as "Seikoma ♡"!
