Cocos is one of my favorite family restaurants. I have been here many times and I never have to wait long to be seated, probably because the restaurant is spacious. Even when I didn't have much of an appetite, I found that Cocos offers a delicious rice porridge that has a rich flavor with plenty of mushrooms. I also like that Cocos has a wide variety of drinks available at their drink bar. (Although I didn't order from the drink bar this time since I didn't plan on staying long.)

In any case, it's cheap, fast, and very satisfying! The drink bar has a variety of tea leaves and it's fun and delicious. The staff are always friendly no matter what time you go. The atmosphere seems great. It's just the right amount of busy, so it's comfortable.

I spent a leisurely 4 hours there, enjoying a curry cheese hamburger and a matcha parfait at the drink bar. It had been a while since I last visited, and there were so many menu options that I had a hard time deciding.笑

I came to Coco's to eat, but I just have to have the wrapped hamburger steak. The beef stew is also delicious, the beef is so good, I could eat rice with it all day.

This is my second post after trying takeout for the first time. I ordered curry rice wrapped in a package and ate it at home. When it comes to wrapped dishes, hamburgers are famous, but I didn't know they also had curry. The curry had a nice blend of spices and a hint of acidity, which made me crave more as I ate. It was described as spicy, but it wasn't too spicy at first. However, by the time I finished the portion, my mouth was tingling. It may not be spicy at all for those who love extremely spicy food. The instructions mentioned heating it in a frying pan while still in the aluminum bag, which would give you a hot curry just like freshly made.

A little while ago, I visited this restaurant on a weekday night around 9 pm, and all the parking spaces were full. Luckily, one spot opened up just as I arrived, so I parked there. Inside, there were many lively groups chatting, and I ended up waiting for about 40 minutes. The food was delicious as expected from a chain restaurant, and surprisingly, the squid tempura I ordered from the side menu was the best. I wondered if it was just a coincidence that there were so many customers staying for a long time that night. Even in a family restaurant, conversations seem to never end at night. However, it's definitely a popular spot in Kitami City.

The last day of the New Year ended up being a day-drinking session in Kitami. We started with delicious soba at the first place, then moved to a nearby izakaya for some drinks and food. After that, we walked to the other side of the town for the third place, and finally went even further for the fourth place, which happened to be "Cocos". Surprisingly, the place was about 60% full even though it was a Sunday. We ordered beer to start and some dishes like sautéed spinach and shimeji mushrooms, and prosciutto and avocado gratin. The reactions from the staff were quite theatrical, but it added to the experience. The beer was good but a bit pricey at 500 yen, considering wine was only 190 yen. The food was surprising at first, but I soon realized it was all part of the experience. Overall, the food and drinks were okay, but I wouldn't linger too long at this place. Time to move on to the next spot.

I used it for lunch on Friday. It's a family restaurant that can be found anywhere, but I keep coming back because of the large parking lot and the familiar taste. I have visited various branches in the past. It's empty as I entered at exactly 12 o'clock. It seems there are no other customers. It doesn't seem to be a place for ladies to relax. I don't order the daily lunch special because it looks meager. It's cheap and good, but it makes me feel sad because it looks meager. The complimentary soup is tomato flavor with onions in it. Since there are no other customers, there are plenty of onions in it. However, it's a bit tough. As I finished the soup, the main dish arrived. On a hot plate, there is steamed rice. Then, a separate container with a sauce is served. When you pour the sauce, the smell of seafood and Chinese cuisine spreads along with the steam. The seafood includes baby scallops, clams, and shrimp. In addition, there are broccoli, green beans, and mushrooms. It's piping hot. I ate it carefully, but I ended up burning my mouth. Despite everything except the rice being frozen food, it's a bit pricey. It's recommended for those who want to spend time leisurely.

◆February 2016◆ I don't usually go to family restaurants, but since my usual spot closed down, I decided to try out Coco's. It was around 2 pm, past lunchtime, but the parking lot was packed. The inside of the restaurant was also quite busy, living up to its reputation as a popular chain. The interior was spacious, bright, and clean.
[About the menu] Besides hamburgers and steaks, they had a variety of options like spaghetti, pizza, Japanese cuisine, curry, and desserts. But since I came to Coco's, I had to go for the hamburger. I ordered the 5-cheese wrapped hamburger with warm vegetables and baguette set, which came with a drink bar included, making it a good deal. The hamburger was wrapped in foil and when I cut it open with a knife, a piping hot hamburger with plenty of cheese inside and on top appeared. The potatoes on the side had a buttery blue cheese flavor. This was a cheese lover's dream. In terms of hamburger taste, I prefer the ones from another restaurant, but I really enjoyed the cheese and sauce flavors here. Mixing the warm vegetables and baguette with the sauce made it like a fondue experience. The potatoes were a bit crumbly and difficult to eat. I think I should have gone for the rice set instead of the warm vegetables and baguette.
