This weekend, I visited my favorite hidden gem yakitori restaurant, KINA. I enjoyed the pork skewers, which were topped with a delicious pork bowl, as well as the Torisei skewers with white leeks. I also tried the natto skewers for the first time, which was a unique experience. The Tomato Cheese skewers were like a warm salad on a stick, and the Pekoros skewers were incredibly sweet and delicious. Finally, I was able to try the White Liver skewers, which were absolutely amazing with no unpleasant aftertaste. I had a wonderful time and am grateful for the experience. Thank you!

It made us realize the deliciousness and depth of yakitori. Three of us went together. It was my first visit and the entrance, tables, jazz music playing, and overall atmosphere were extraordinary. I had studied the menu beforehand, so we ordered chicken thigh, liver, gizzard, heart, pork skewers, chicken cartilage, tempura squid, edamame, and chicken ramen. The pork skewers and chicken thigh were particularly amazing. Everything was delicious and we couldn't wait for the next dish to arrive. I'm posting this review, but I don't want to reveal too much. Let's keep this place as our little secret.笑

Walk north from Obihiro Station. In the area near the bustling district, there is a Showa retro-style bar street that stands out with its entrance that seems different from the rest. The black walls with glowing lights (signs and lanterns) are striking. The interior of the bar, which also gives off a snack bar-like atmosphere, is black-themed like the exterior. Both the table and counter seats are filled with customers enjoying their drinks. It seems to be a popular spot that firmly grasps its regular customers. I take a seat at the counter, which was just barely available. A large monitor in front of me is showing live baseball from Tokyo 2020. Let's start with a draft beer! The strong leader of the group reads out the menu from the top and we order the skewers we want to eat. It seems like everyone is ordering quite a lot of food. In the end, we ordered almost all the regular skewers (some are shown in the picture). The menu structure seems to be inspired by yakitori restaurants in Susukino, Sapporo, or local Hokkaido dishes. I can imagine how challenging it must be to source and prepare the ingredients. The skewers are large and flavorful, different from what I would expect based on the menu. Although the prices are not cheap, I can't help but hope for that extra touch. Thinking about it, places like Kurumaya and Mubu in Sapporo have managed to maintain the luxury yakitori experience and provide it even now in the Reiwa era. The way skewers are prepared based on the characteristics of each part and the management of charcoal temperature, as well as the service, all depend on where the restaurant and the customers set their "zero point," affecting the satisfaction levels. The owner and the hostess are busy. Thank you for accommodating our large order. * Beef (with green onions) ¥240 * White liver (with sauce) ¥250 * Muroran yakitori (pork skewer) ¥310 * Bonjiri (chicken tail) ¥220 * Liver ¥220 * Chicken wing ¥360 * Skin ¥220 * Natto (fermented soybeans) ¥220 * Tomato cheese ¥220 * Pecorino cheese ¥250 * Quail egg ¥220 ◇ Chicken skin rice cracker ¥630 ◇ Half-fried chicken ¥1300 ◇ Sakura yukke (Korean-style raw meat dish) ¥980 ◇ Fried squid ¥700 Enjoying the summer night in Obihiro to the fullest☆ Delicious. Thank you for the meal.

On October 10, 2020, I decided to support local restaurants by being extra cautious and going out for a meal. I had a craving for Japanese food or yakitori, so I contacted a few places, but it was tough to find a spot on the same day. Eventually, I ended up at an upscale yakitori restaurant called KINA. The restaurant had a stylish black exterior and a chic black-themed interior. I ordered liver skewers, Muroran yakitori, chicken gizzards, chicken skin, chicken tail, edamame, and chicken breast sashimi. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was great too. It was my second visit in about three years, and it was a fantastic dining experience.

I think this is a great place to use for dates, even though the seating is limited in this hidden gem of a restaurant. The atmosphere is nice and the food is delicious! Even for those who don't like liver, it was tasty enough to enjoy! Next month, they are offering half-priced drinks for those who have visited on weekdays only, so be sure to check it out! The location might be a bit tricky to find though.

Finally completed the relocation registration and here is the review. After eating okonomiyaki and wandering around the city, we visited Yakitori KINA, which moved from Otofuke Kino. Initially, we were aiming for a different new restaurant, but it was closed on that day. So, we couldn't get a reservation at another place we were interested in. Then we remembered this place that we were curious about! When we entered through the black rock entrance that the owner apparently took time to create, the place was quite crowded (sweating). Although there were seats available at the counter, we were guided to a table and we toasted with a Sapporo Black Label (medium) for 500 yen and a sparkling wine (white) for 450 yen. The interior of the restaurant was dimly lit, and there was a tank with clownfish welcoming us, creating a calming atmosphere. However, my companion who was not used to this type of restaurant seemed a bit grumpy (^^;) The appetizer for 300 yen, which came on a large plate probably meant for skewers, included cabbage with sesame oil and egg with grated radish. We had to order the cucumber skewer to go with it... but due to the crowd, we opted for relatively quick-to-serve items: one liver skewer for 150 yen, which was quite soft and tender. The sauce was also very good. My companion ordered cold tofu for 400 yen, which I'm sorry I didn't taste, I just took a picture (^^;) Perhaps due to the layout of the restaurant or the seat we chose, it was difficult to feel the benefits of the air conditioning, making it uncomfortable for sweaty individuals like me (and my companion's aura of wanting to leave quickly). So, we ended up leaving early this time. The restroom was quite realistically cave-like, giving the restaurant a unique feel not found in the local area. I even had to confirm with my friend if the owner was really this handsome, just like in the Otofuke days. Thank you for the meal!
