In August 2021, I went to buy some bonito flakes and decided to stop by Aeon. I was surprised to find a "Kaldi Coffee Farm" here. I have been hooked on Kaldi's seasonings lately. I particularly love their tartar sauce with smoked bonito flakes, wasabi, and pickled radish. Although I could make my own with mayonnaise, I don't usually buy smoked bonito flakes or pickled radish, so this is a convenient option for me. The "Black Mapo Tofu Seasoning" for 198 yen has been a recent favorite in my household. We used to only buy from Marumiya, but this seasoning has a rich flavor and spiciness that we really enjoy. It has become a staple for our mapo tofu. I also found another delicious seasoning at Jupiter. The battle between Kaldi and Jupiter seems to continue.

2021 Lucky Bag for 4000 yen I went to the store around 8 a.m. and they were handing out numbered tickets in front of the store. I had forgotten what time they started distributing the tickets, so I went there just in case, and surprisingly, there were not many people. I always thought you had to line up early to buy the lucky bags, but it seemed like there was plenty of stock this year. However, I was number 45, so there must have been some people lining up before me. The redemption time was from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., so I went back home for a while. I always make it a point to buy a lucky bag every year, so this year, I bought one from KALDI for the first time. I didn't win the online lottery they held beforehand. It's a popular lucky bag. The eco bag included a pocket inside and seemed quite sturdy, but in terms of shape and size, it's a bit awkward for everyday use. The contents included: moheji chocolate, moheji tea bags, moheji hand towel, KALDI notebook, yuzu pepper, black sugar walnuts, low-sugar nuts, biscuit New Year pack, chocolate snacks, cookies, honey, olive oil, Earl Grey black tea, strawberry pudding, KALDI coffee drip pack, miso soup, pasta, canned mackerel, and delicious salad dressing. Honestly, it's a bit underwhelming for 4000 yen. If I had to pick something, the olive oil seems expensive. It seems that before this year, the moheji goods and the lucky bag were separate, but this year they are combined. The price was also 500 yen higher last year. There wasn't anything that made me extremely happy. It's more like things I'll eat or use to some extent. I was hoping for more unusual seasonings to get excited about. The cheap feel of the biscuits, strawberry pudding, and miso soup is a bit disappointing. It's like something you would find at a wholesale store (laughs). I wish they had made it more KALDI-like. I think choosing 4000 yen worth of items you like in the store would definitely result in a higher satisfaction level. Why is this lucky bag so popular? The notebook is cute, so I've decided to start using it as a diary this year. I hope I don't give up after three days... I wonder which lucky bag I should buy next year.

Hirata Ranch Liver Paste, crackers, salted edamame beans for about 750 yen. The liver paste was 30% off (with a 3-day expiration date), and the salted edamame beans were also discounted due to their approaching expiration date (although they still had a month left). I enjoyed the liver paste on crackers. It had a noticeable pork flavor but wasn't unpleasant. The crackers were substantial and would pair well with wine. It's more of a meal-like dish rather than a light snack, so it's best not to overindulge. It's great for sharing with about 3 people. The crackers are a good value and come in a large quantity. I would definitely recommend them. I think they would be delicious with cream cheese. The salted edamame beans are perfect for snacking while doing something else. Overall, I had a fun time shopping at KALDI, and I often find great deals there. Enjoyed my meal!

In July 2017, I stopped by the newly opened Caldi store at Aeon Higashi-Sapporo to buy some bread. While there, I purchased some standout items like almond jelly mango pudding, white wine, dessert wine, a Hario cold brew coffee pot, and Caldi's recommended cold brew coffee beans. I also received an original Imabari hand towel as part of a promotion. The almond jelly was delicious, and I'm glad I bought the larger pack. The cold brew coffee pot that was back in stock is excellent and easy to use. The coffee recommended by Caldi was also very tasty. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I received a directive to go to the Fruit Cake Factory, so I'm in Shiraishi and decided to come to the Aeon in Higashi Sapporo. I found a "Kaldi" next to the Fruit Cake Factory, so I went in and tried their "cut-off ham," which was really good. The staff here have a lively voice, it feels nice! I decided to have it as a marinade with purple onions... delicious! The "cut-off ham" here is a great deal. If you were served this at a restaurant, you might be like, "huh?" but there's absolutely no complaints when eating it at home. It's delicious. By the way, the one I bought earlier is in the freezer, so give me a break... I also found Kaldi's brand "beef curry" and bought it. I had bought an "ebi fry bento" from another bento shop, but didn't find it appealing as a bento, so I combined it with this curry to make an "ebi katsu curry." This curry, for a retort curry, has a lot of ingredients. There are potatoes and beef in it. Of course, I move the potatoes to the edge of the plate. As a curry, it's pretty tasty. It's not very spicy, but it's enough for me. I think it's a retort curry that you can enjoy normally. I found it tastier than the retort curry from a famous shop in Hakodate. I had heard that the Burrata from Kaldi was delicious and I was curious, but I couldn't find it at the Kaldis in town. Finally, I found it in Higashi-Sapporo and I was so happy that I wanted to review it (lol). *Italy Burrata (753 yen) I made a peach burrata. The rich creamy texture was delicious, but it gives off a slightly luxurious impression for everyday use. It doesn't have much of a cheesy taste. I had been curious about it for a while, so I'm glad I was able to purchase it this time (*'ω'*).

On a holiday at 16:00, I went shopping at Kaldi without any specific purpose. I ended up buying truffle salt (white), basil-flavored nut sauce, and sliced ham among other items. Although Kaldi's products are becoming essential in my daily life, the total amount spent on each purchase keeps increasing. This time, I bought the popular basil-flavored nut sauce for the first time. The fragrant truffle salt elevates the taste when sprinkled on freshly harvested edamame lightly cooked in olive oil. It tastes as good as the products in a restaurant, making me feel like my cooking skills have improved. The nut sauce pairs well with roasted green asparagus, poached egg, Parmesan, and a generous amount of sauce drizzled on top before breaking the egg yolk. It's a product that can be recommended without any complaints, with a seasonal feel and a touch of elegance. The combination of the asparagus's fibrous texture, crispy crunch, charred flavor, and nutty aroma is excellent. It can be enjoyed as a snack at home or as a side dish with rice. I can't stop myself from visiting Kaldi frequently in the future.

In December 2021, I visited a store called Kaldi. I usually enjoy their prosciutto, but this time I tried their ginseng chicken soup, which I had purchased before and had forgotten about. The soup contains a whole chicken, and even the bones are soft. I personally don't like this texture, but I think it's a very authentic ginseng chicken soup.

On my day off, I walked around the area of Higashi-Sapporo and did some shopping on my way back at the first floor of AEON Higashi-Sapporo, at "Kaldi Coffee Farm." It was as popular as ever and bustling with people. There were many things I needed to buy, but this time I purchased the Australian sun-dried salt "Southern Excellence." I have been using it for a few years now, and it is a round, mild salt with no sharp edges. It is great to use directly on dishes or ingredients, and it makes delicious pickles. On a certain weekday, I visited AEON Higashi Sapporo to have lunch and stopped by on my way back home. There are many food stores scattered around here. The store is located on the first floor, towards the south side in the middle, and they were doing the usual promotions to attract customers. On this day, I decided to go with my gut feeling and chose a few items that caught my attention from the display shelf. There were some lucky bags for the New Year, but since I don't drink coffee or alcohol, and I'm alone, I didn't feel like buying those. Instead, I opted for some regular items that intrigued me a bit. The "Salted Bean Daifuku Ice Cream (162 yen)" caught my eye in the freezer, and when I took a bite, it reminded me of Lotte's Yukimi Daifuku. It had a chewy mochi outer layer with a nice balance of salty beans and vanilla ice cream. I also tried the "Tapioca Milk Tea (105 yen)" which was on sale. It tasted a bit different than I expected, with the milk tea being moderately sweet and enjoyable, but the tapioca felt more like finely cut konjac, giving it a different texture. Next, I tried the "Black Bean Soymilk (138 yen)" which seemed unique. It appeared to be a product from Taiwan, and the cap was a bit tricky to open. The taste was surprising, with a strong black bean flavor that was unexpected but not too sweet, making it a refreshing drink. I also picked up the "Calde Ice Coffee (297 yen)" out of curiosity. It had a citrusy sourness that took me by surprise at first, but I got used to it and found it quite interesting, with a hint of bitterness that might be enjoyable when mixed with milk. Lastly, I got the "Sari Noodles (60 yen)" for making Korean hot pot. I tried it in the leftover soup from my pot, and it turned out thicker and more robust than typical Japanese noodles, perfect for simmering in a pot. I also bought the "Light Hot Pot Base (226 yen)" as I've been making hot pot often lately. It was indeed a light miso-based broth with cabbage, chives, pork belly, etc., and it paired well with the pot, providing a satisfying meal. Sometimes, I end up buying more than I planned when I come here, so I try not to visit too often. Thank you for the meal.
