On a certain weekday, I happened to notice a restaurant with a sign out even though it is not usually open for lunch, so I decided to step inside. It was an izakaya in Kita-ku, Shinoro, with a parking lot available at the back of the store. The interior was typical of an izakaya, with a counter and a raised seating area, and there were Hanshin Tigers goods and player autographs throughout. The background music was videos of players giving their best on TV. From the menu that day, there weren't many options for lunch, but each dish looked appealing. I decided to try the "Katsu Curry (850 yen)" which seemed visually appealing. After a while, it was ready. Wow! The portion was quite substantial, enough to make me smile wryly. Now, let's take a bite... Oh, I really like this curry. Served in a rugby ball-shaped plate, the curry was generously sweet and seemed to be an original creation rather than a pre-made one, with a homely taste that would appeal to many. The ingredients included finely chopped minced meat, carrots, and onions, and the katsu had a good balance with the curry, while the rice was almost double the usual amount. The side salad included green asparagus and kiwi, with a dual dressing of vinaigrette and mayonnaise. Lastly, I finished off the miso soup with seaweed and special fried tofu. Overall, I think they are offering lunch due to circumstances, but personally, if I can enjoy such a wonderful curry, I would love to visit again. It was also evident that the staff valued their customers. Thank you for the meal.
