I came to Aman-san today to buy some bread. The shop opened at 10 o'clock, and I arrived 5 minutes early to find 3 groups already lined up. I was the fourth in line. Aman-san is a stylish bakery that used to be a container shop. The most popular item is the croissant, which is crispy and fluffy with a delicious buttery flavor. I ended up buying too much because everything looked so good. Depending on the day, they may sell out quickly, so it's recommended to come right when they open.

I went to the bakery during regular opening hours, but there was already a line. It seemed like they were short-staffed, so the line was moving slowly. Many customers were coming in one after another, showing how popular this place is. Despite being busy, the service was polite and friendly, which I appreciated. The croissant was very crispy and fragrant. The bottom half was soft and had a pleasant sweet flavor. The sweet potato Danish pastry was also crispy and had a nice sweetness to it. The buckwheat sourdough bread had a simple yet delicious taste. Overall, the service was pleasant and the bread was very delicious. Just be prepared to wait in line, and it's best to go early to avoid them selling out.

On 12th September, I bought a "Cannele 300 yen/piece" as a snack during my holiday. This bakery is located in the mountains on the outskirts of Asahikawa. It's a popular shop with many people waiting even before it opens. I arrived around 1 pm, and most items were already sold out. Luckily, they had Cannele and Basque cake left. Since I had come all the way to Etanbetsu, I decided to buy the Cannele. I wasn't sure what Cannele was, but when I tried it at home with my family, I found out it's a French baked confection. It has a crispy exterior and a moist interior, with a delicate sweetness. It was delicious, but it was a bit pricey at 300 yen for a size similar to a salt shaker. However, this shop is worth visiting. Their highly recommended item is the buttery croissant. I look forward to trying it next time I visit.

Opened on April 28th, a bakery in Asahikawa, Etanbetsu. Despite being a bit far from Asahikawa, the Etanbetsu area, which opened since then, always has a line on weekends. A container house stands in the parking lot of the restaurant "Chirai"! It seems that the bakery was launched jointly by the owner of this place and the owner of Chirai. Since the opening, I have been checking Facebook frequently, but it seems that you have to go early to get your favorite bread... I asked the first customer through Facebook what time they start lining up. On weekends, it's around 9:30 am, 30 minutes before opening. One Saturday morning, I went there around 9:30 am. There was one group of customers before me, and then more and more people lined up, with over 15 people in line by the time they opened. I was second in line, so I was able to buy what I liked. "Rye Cranberry" (360 yen) ... From the hard bread selection, I chose this one. The bread with the scent of rye has plenty of cranberry jam with a fruity taste. The sweet and sour taste is irresistible! "Croissant (Maple)" (280 yen) ... Croissants are the most popular and sell out first. There are maple and plain flavors, but you can only buy one of each per person. The shape is different. The scent of maple and butter is very nice. The croissant, with layers of dough and butter woven together, has a crispy texture. "Etanbetsu Blue Cheese Quiche" (460 yen) ... A quiche with plenty of Etanbetsu's famous "blue cheese". Under the cheese, there are potatoes. This is a very rich-tasting quiche. "Flat Focaccia" (300 yen) ... Plenty of cheese. It is a flavorful focaccia with black pepper enhancing the taste of the cheese. I think all of them are high-quality bread. It's no wonder there's a line!

During this Golden Week, my friend Sayuppo posted some delicious-looking bread photos on her SNS, but she couldn't buy the most popular bread she wanted to try. So, I decided to take revenge! The bakery is called "Boulangerie aman" located at 121-2 Etanbetsu Chuo, Asahikawa City. You can find the map here: https://goo.gl/maps/1epciaiWpo2tfnBDA. They are open from 10:00 to 15:00, closed on Mondays. They have parking and takeout available. The official Instagram is here: https://www.instagram.com/boulangerie_aman/. This place opened on April 28, 2021, and specializes in bread made with plenty of grains, mainly hard bread. It is located on the premises of the restaurant "Chirai." I visited the store and bought a variety of bread, including Cheese Focaccia, Rye Raisin bread, and the famous Croissant (Maple). I reheated and had them for lunch that day. The Focaccia was simple and had a mild cheese flavor. The Rye Raisin bread had a generous amount of raisins and a rich, deep flavor that matched well. Finally, the Croissant was delicate and had a smooth, moist texture with a light, airy taste. Although the price may seem a bit high, the quality justifies it. It's worth trying, and I would definitely go back for more. I'm looking forward to trying their buckwheat bread in the future.

The reviewer arrived at the bakery on Chirai's premises just before their reservation time, only to find that almost everything was sold out. The staff mentioned that they also take reservations. Despite this, the reviewer was able to purchase the Paprika Puchi Pan for 280 yen. They were satisfied as they were still able to enjoy it for lunch at Chirai.

I visited the Marginal Sauna near Eidanbetsu for a preview, and I tried the canelé from the next door Chirai and the croissant from Aman. They were delicious!

In the cold climate of the Enbetsu district, which holds the record for the lowest temperature in Japan, now part of Asahikawa City due to municipal mergers, there seems to be a new movement led by energetic young people and elderly residents despite the depopulation in the area. One such place is a bakery with a sign that reads "Enbetsu Bread" just before a big curve on the main road leading towards Higashikawa. Intrigued by the stylish and delicious-looking bakery, I made a U-turn and decided to stop by without any prior knowledge. The bakery, made from a converted cargo container, had rows of croissant-shaped muffins that looked appetizing. I was informed that the popular items sell out quickly after opening, so I was lucky to find some remaining croissants. I ended up getting a plain and maple croissant, as well as a hearty and delicious soba flour campanile made with Enbetsu's own soba flour. The next morning, I enjoyed the croissants with my partner over coffee. The croissants, which were more like muffins, had a unique texture with a crispy top layer and a soft bread-like bottom. They were good, but I preferred the maple flavor. The soba flour campanile was moist and flavorful, making it my favorite. Overall, the pastries were tasty but not my absolute favorite. I would buy them again if I were in the area, but they wouldn't be a special trip for me.

Jotanbetsu? It's not easy to get there... I was curious about it but had given up, then I unexpectedly stumbled upon it (*´艸`) It seems that "Euro Dining Nexus" offers this bread along with their dishes, and by chance, I found a corner of the shop selling just the bread. I bought the Buckwheat Flour Campanile (half) for 250 yen. I didn't realize it was past its expiration date until the next day, so it was a bit dry, but maybe that was because it was the next day? I couldn't really taste the buckwheat flavor, but that might just be my unsophisticated palate (^-^; I felt like it needed something more, so I paired it with some raspberry jam I had bought in the spring. Even though it didn't really match the bread, the jam was delicious♬ I tried a reduced sugar version and it had a strong acidity that paired perfectly with the bread♡ It seems to be seasonal, but I was able to buy it at the Toko 1-jo Post Office♪
