The Inada district in Obihiro is a bit tricky when it comes to lunch options. While this place mainly serves ramen, their fried rice is a sure bet! It's very fluffy, not too oily, and just the right amount of flavor. The soup that comes with it also has eggs and wood ear mushrooms. You can tell they take their work seriously. However, it's a shame that the seating is only at the counter. It's not really a space to enjoy a meal.

Had lunch at Hirozono today. Ordered miso ramen and gyoza. There were four people at another table and a group of four and a group of three later came in, but they had to sit separately as there were no empty seats together. It's a bit tough for larger groups to dine here since there are only counter seats. The ramen arrived in about 7 minutes and the gyoza in about 10 minutes. The miso ramen was just average, but the gyoza was delicious!

The miso ramen with pork cutlet and the wonton soy sauce ramen both have pork cutlet as topping, but not much of other ingredients so the quantity is not really noticeable. The taste is not too rich, but has a salty flavor with a traditional miso taste that would appeal to many people. However, the thin pork cutlet topping makes it feel like it's not necessary for the ramen to be a pork cutlet ramen. The wonton soy sauce ramen also has a traditional soy sauce flavor. The wontons are just average. Both ramen dishes are decently tasty. The soup is hot and overall it's an average quality. However, it seemed like other customers were all ordering salt ramen. Maybe this place is known for their salt ramen. The cost performance may not be very high.

When I visited Jōshin'oppō for work, I stopped by this long-established ramen shop. It was a somewhat old-fashioned place along the national highway, but it seems they have now relocated and opened a new store in Obihiro city. Congratulations 🎉 I invited my family to visit the new store. There is parking space for about 7 cars in front of the store. The interior has only counter seats. I ordered the Wonton Ramen (miso) for 880 yen. I think I might have ordered the same menu last time (in Jōshin'oppō) lol The Wonton Ramen that was served was very filling. The wontons were big and satisfying to eat. The noodles and soup were both simple in appearance but delicious, making it a satisfying meal. They also took proper measures for infection prevention, and the staff's hospitality was great. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely come again.

I went to Hiroson for the first time! I moved from Kamishihoro to Obihiro. I had been there a few times during my time in Kamishihoro and found it quite useful, so personally, I was a little disappointed. The store is newly built. It seems to be a combination of a store and a residence. When you enter the store, there are only seats facing the wall, which may not be suitable for families. The soy sauce ramen costs 700 yen including tax. The soup is quite mild, on the lighter side. There is a moderate amount of oil in it. The hot temperature is sustained. I prefer it to have a bit more assertiveness in the soy sauce flavor. Overall, it feels weak. The noodles are slightly thicker curly noodles with a slightly lower water content. They are delicious. The boiled egg is mini-sized, larger than quail eggs. The chashu is soft and delicious, with a fairly strong seasoning. It includes menma, naruto, and green onions. Next time, I might try the Chinese chirashi. Thank you for the meal.

In late January, on the way to Kanohira Onsen, the restaurant seemed a bit empty. In mid-February, I heard they were moving to Obihiro and decided to visit. Despite aiming for opening time, I arrived a bit late and found the place empty. I was able to park in front of the store or next to the staff's cars. When I asked for recommendations, they suggested the "Salt" for a light taste, "Miso Katsu Ramen" for a richer flavor, and "Cantonese Noodles" for those wanting vegetables. I decided to try the Miso Katsu Ramen for 990 yen. It arrived in about 7 minutes, and even with a mask on, the smell of garlic was strong. The soup seemed to be a carefully simmered pork bone broth with a traditional Sapporo ramen miso flavor. The noodles were medium thickness and cooked just right. The thick cutlet stayed crispy even when soaked in the soup. Other toppings included bamboo shoots, green onions, ground meat, white sesame seeds, seaweed, and shredded red pepper. The chef used to work in Urahoro, so you can enjoy the same taste in the city. You can also get takeout for everything except the noodles. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. Please dispose of used tissues in the trash bin next to the cashier for COVID-19 prevention measures.

On March 6, 2021, I visited a long-established Chinese restaurant, "Kouen," which recently relocated from Kamishihoro. The new location is in Obihiro Minami no Mori, next to Obihiro Minami no Mori Clinic. The exterior of the restaurant is a beautiful new one-story building with white walls. The interior is clean and new, with a pleasant smell of fresh construction. Currently, there are 9 table seats along the wall. I ordered the following dishes: - Fried Rice: ¥750 - Ramen with Salt Flavor: ¥700 The fried rice had simple ingredients such as char siu, naruto, egg, green onions, and pickled ginger. It was slightly moist, with a hint of ramen soup flavor, and a bit light in taste, which I personally enjoyed. The ramen had toppings like char siu, menma, chopped green onions, naruto, boiled egg, and thinly sliced red chili pepper. The noodles were medium-thick curly noodles, on the softer side. The clear soup had a strong pork bone flavor with a bit more lard, slightly salty but rich and delicious. I prefer lighter flavors with firmer noodles, so I recommend requesting that when ordering. Next time, I plan to try their ankake yakisoba. At the end of the meal, I received a small gift of DARS chocolate. Congratulations on the relocation and grand opening! Takeout is available at Kouen. They are open from 11:00 to 14:00 with irregular holidays.

I had Tianjin Ramen (salt flavor). It was served in less than 10 minutes. The soup was piping hot and had a good balance of flavors, which I liked. I usually order miso flavor, but salt flavor is also good.

Visited on a weekday afternoon with no other customers. Ordered yakisoba with sauce. It arrived in about 10 minutes, piping hot. The noodles were typical and the sauce was average.

"Hiroen" park... Sure, floating in the air... Today I went to Obihiro and had already decided on a ramen shop, but for other choices, I will pick from my notes. In my notes, it says "fried rice." I need to call before going, as unnecessary movements can be detrimental. The person on the phone was refreshing and gave a pleasant response. "Can I get fried rice for takeout?" "Yes, you can!" This person... the only mistake was saying "it will be ready soon." I don't like fried rice that is ready right away. The restaurant was small, with a counter separated by partitions where three people were quietly eating fried rice. Two of them were women, and they seemed like nice people. One of them might not be Japanese, I'm not sure. The unevenness in the cooking was not pleasing, and the taste was Chinese-style with a hint of lard. It was lightly seasoned and not overly greasy. It lacked the crispy texture but had a subtle flavor enhanced by the naruto and char siu. Delicious fried rice should leave you wanting more, and this one was surprisingly tasty.
