Date of visit: May 1, 2020
For dinner on this day, my companion and I visited Futaba Sushi. We arrived around 19:30 and there were no customers before or after us.
Our order consisted of:
- Jyou Fuki Yose (topped with various ingredients) for 2,200 yen + Large portion for 200 yen
- Jyou Nama (premium sushi) for 2,000 yen
It took about 20 minutes for our food to be served. The Jyou Fuki Yose included various toppings such as whelk, squid, shrimp, scallop, tuna, sea bream, salmon, ikura (salmon roe), sea urchin, flying fish roe, tamago (egg), and kamaboko (fish cake), served on top of simmered lotus root and shiitake mushrooms. It felt like a great deal to have a variety of fresh toppings on top of the mixed rice.
The Jyou Nama included cucumber, ikura, sea urchin, salmon, shrimp, scallop, tuna, sea bream, and salmon roe. The rice was soft, the vinegar was mild, and there was plenty of wasabi. The pickled ginger was strong and made me cough a bit (laughs). The toppings were very delicious.
The miso soup that came with our meal had tofu, mitsuba (Japanese parsley), and shredded kombu (kelp), with two shrimp heads but no soup stock. It was a standard miso soup.
The parking lot for this restaurant is located behind the building and is quite narrow, so be careful when parking. Thank you for the meal.
